Thats a great name for Rockabilly, not even a stage name, he's Tony Perkins son (tony Perkins starred in Psycho) and he named his son Elvis. Surprising its not a more common name, It might be in Venezuela. People there name there kids superman, Batman, even a certain dictator with a square moustache. No not charlie Chaplin! Although they probably name kids after him too.

Sure, there is a lot of terrible music made today, at the same time, there is a lot of great music being made today. In the same way, there was a lot of bad music that came from the 50s-80s as well. It's just that you aren't exposed to the bad music from back then, because all that is remembered is the great music that came out. Same deal today. It's likely that all that gangsta crap will be forgotten in 30 years, but a lot of fantastic current music will still be remembered and enjoyed.

a majority of the pop, & commercial rock music of this era is rubbish.

Just like the old churn em out 70's AM radio days, just before fm & prior to that the squeaky clean days of orchestral pop, just prior to the roock & roll explosion.

There was always gr8 music in every era, it just had to be sought out.
