There was absolutely no structure here. Where is the iqa'? This is just a noisy show-off of a performance...too busy and unfocused. Whatever happened to playing the real thing? Study the iqa' properly and leave this grandstanding with the kids where it belongs.
@Xolin11 I don't know what a "conga skin" is. I don't play conga. This is a Riq, a unique type of tambourine, played in many countries doing arabic-style music. Small diameter, with heavy brass jingles. Traditionally covered with fish or goat skin. Modern instruments often have synthetic heads like this to maintain nice tight tone. Natural skins sound good, but soften in humidity. This seems like a very high quality instrument. If you buy a riq beware. Many others are junk.

he is clearly a pro but he is not playind the right rythm that should be played on the riqq he clearly have a one style show for many instruments and he must know that riqq is not suppose to be played like that he is really fast and good but not a good rythme player
it just an opinion man because i only heared arabic egyptian and turquish rythms and playing styles ... he has an awesome technique and beautiful style but try to hear egyptian and turkish rythmes
now look thats the best riq sound thanks to kevork and his magic hands i have a riq and a derbaki and katem from kevork all of them by the way im a musician
I agree that Bud Rich and Jo Jo Mayer are great but...On the drum set !!!! Dude, this is a Tambourine (Riq) and David Kuckherman plays like a master ( Glen Velez ,N. Scott Robinson ETC ). If you can play better than him, you should be on the list above, but plase respect a good player !!! Hey, David I hope to meet you some day, your DVDs are excellent !
very boring and nervous? too much ego? where are you getting this crap from? have you even watched the video? do you know anything about music? needs a psicanilist? Its all about the drumming man, respect it! This guy can session more drums than you can name dude!
One of the problems with making it possible for lazy-minded nitwits to post their opiions on musical performance is that they always start psychoanalyzing the performer, often making it seem pathetic that anyone would try to become good at playing, as if talent is some kind of sad character defect. I'm NOT saying that the critic is negative or anything as silly as that: I mean they are very bad critics who push forward worthless opinions. " Boring? nervous?" The critic is.
Boring? What stupid critters we've got here...I'd be willing to bet you can't even play, children! ;) David rocks on so many drums he would make you cry...lol.
