I just start to learn ASL recently, am hard of hearing. I can sign some simple words now. I joined a great deaf daing site, ----Deafornot dot c om----, and met some good deaf/HOH friends over there. They help me to learn ASL.
I was just wanting to hear this song, I'm glad I watched the video. I've seen a lot of people signing at concerts, and never this beautifully. Absolutely exceptional, magnificent work.
I am just starting to learn ASL so I don't know, but are these ASL signs with english grammar? This is probably the only song on youtube that is signed that is good. As I look to the right side all I see in ASL is Burnin Up by the Jonas brothers. You should do more songs.
@jackcanthink Hi! Yes, these are signs with a lot of English grammar, though I do think some of it is ASL grammar. When I made this video I hadn't ever taken any ASL classes and everything I knew was from the internet, so my grammar was/is pretty bad.
If you are looking for a good signer do a search on Youtube for CaptainValor/ ASL Stephen. (I tried to link but YT wouldn't let me.) He really knows his stuff and does some great work.

@MegaPolly12345 Thanks! Yeah, I was pretty tired; I stayed up one night to do this after my roommate left for the weekend and I had had a long week. To get it all in one take it probably took more than 2 hours because I was doing it totally by myself.
No problem (: I always look up people signing along to songs, I find a lot of good people youre in my top 10 most definintly, Have you been keeping up on signing or no ? haha
Oh no I am still signing. I took my first class ever last fall and it was really great. Obviously I haven't been doing any videos, and I need to get back to that; it was a great way to practice. Thanks so much for the encouragement!
As a fellow ASL fan, this was awesome! I love Voxtrot and they're from my hometown. Any chance you might do "The Start Of Something New" by them? I want to learn it for a girl I'm dating.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! It's awesome that Voxtrot is from your hometown! I will try "The Start of Something," but it looks pretty hard. It's longer and has more lyrics than "Fast Asleep" and it took me forever to learn that!
I'm deaf, I do sign language as well, but you have no clue how happy this made me feel. (: NICE TO SEE SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER ON THE INTERNET WITH EMOTION in their face hahaha thank you for this:O
Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it! Your comment has made ME very happy, because sign language is just a hobby of mine, so I'm very flattered to be referred to as an interpreter! Secondly, I wondered whether I was showing too much emotion, so I'm glad to see that it's appreciated.
I think it's probably a combination. I only used ASL signs and didn't create my own, I didn't translate the articles, and some of the signs are not EXACT translations as they would've been in SEE, but rather interpretations like in ASL.
When I go on sites like Omegle, if someone asks me for my ASL, I link them to this.
