  • The one that says A division of THE TAFT ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY at 0:42 From The Jetsons on Boomerang From Cartoon Network

  • 0:42 From The Jetsons

  • I love the sinning silver star logo that remains silver and features music. I hate the B logo with the loud blaring music. And the new ones are dull or annoying.

  • 1:27 From Charlie Brown & Friends (1998)

  • 0:49 that should always be the logo

  • I don't know why, but I think the spinning star logos are absolutely wonderful!

  • i love that star sound

  • 1:22 From Dexter's Laboratory: Ego Trip.

  • the swirling the star is the most famous.

  • I enjoyed this video. Although, many of these logos are not in order. Especially the first swirling star logo.

  • saul bass created the swirling star logo and its cgi successor. Hoyt Curton created the music for the logo, which was probably used on a synthesizer. The logo was used using Scanimate animation. It was also used as the logo for Taft International Pictures.

  • 1:04 hanna barnbaba

  • whats those last "8" logo belong to which animations?

  • HANNA BARBARA had reminds me of New Scooby-doo Mysteries in 1984

    on Boomerang

  • these guys made my childhood

  • The swirling star is the one the 80s babies should remember... and it's also my fave because it reminds me of the smurfs lol

  • You forgot the one from 2001 - 2002 what says "An AOL Time Warner company" from Powerpuff Girls Members Only

  • Thank you Hanna-Barbera

  • The Swirling Logo made my childhood, i saw it on Cartoon network airings of Powerpuff girls, but now it's new cartoon network and it's all piece of shit now. Who agrees?

  • @Pikafan2132 I agree. Thank you for understanding what Cartoon Network has gone through over the years.

  • does anybody remember a laugh at the end of the last ones?

  • Hey look, it's my childhood!

  • I still love the wacky sounds!

  • Haha, I remember these like yesterday.

  • give us back Hanna-Barbera and we will give you Hanna Montana

  • @nobodysperfect06 And what makes you think that is a fair swap? Perhaps they don't want Hannah Montana, and quite frankly, I wouldn't blame them :-p

  • Hanna Barbera produced most of the cartoons I watched as a kid.

I loved each and every one of them.

When those two great men died, the world of children's entertainment began to glow less brightly than before.

    Farewell good Sirs.

    You shall be missed.

  • i love the star logo but that gave me nigtmares when i was a kid

  • i love you hanna barbera =D but i miss thease 's D=

  • i saw this when i was a kid i was scared but i saw this in the powerpuffgirls ending but now i am not scared at this logo anymore but i like it =D

  • The Comedy in Hanna-Barbera is Aladdin Rocky the Rooster from Chicken Run Grandma Thora on Arthur Harold Shrinks Scooby Doo Mushu from Mulan Captin Hook from Peter Pan Pinnochio from Shrek Bandit and Kuzco from The Emperor's New Groove

  • The Action in Hanna-Barbera is Dug from Up Steve from Cloudy with a chance of MeatBalls Al from Toy Story Mr. Tweedy Mr. Ratburn Jafar Mr. Smee from Peter Pan Sally and Lighting Mcqueen from Cars and Uncle Fred from Arthur's Perfect Christmas

  • wow the whole thing is out of order. if you want to see the actual history of the logo, go to the hanna barbera clg wiki page.

  • For all of the swirling star and the KJDFGFKDFKJFJDKFJDKFFKJkjcartoonsinabox logos:

    wat this is so trippy

  • ha,i grew up with the swirly star logo,i used to think that was so trippy..lol

  • 1:05- 1:22 AWFULEST LOGO FTW

  • Comment removed

  • Does anyone have the one marking the 30th Anniversary of the Flintstones? I used to see it during the end credits of Bill and Ted

  • I saw the Swirling Star on the Scooby Doo and the Werewolf movie! I was so happy from seeing that logo again! And also which show has the Swirling Star that has a red trail instead of a rainbow-ish one?

  • History: 0:00 Zooming H-B 0:04 Linecut H-B 0:08 Zooming H-B With Different Music 0:10 Outzooming H-B 0:14 Rainbow HB 0:17 Rainbow HB With Music 0:22 CGI Swirling Star 0:27 Swirling Star 1970s' 0:32 Swirling Star 0:38 CGI Swirling Star 2nd Variant 0:43 Swirling Star 2nd Variant 0:48 Swirling Star Jetsons Movie Variant 0:55 "Dog" 1:02 Johnny Quest Variant 1:06 All Stars Featuring Johnny Quest 1:12 All Stars 1:17 All Stars Featuring Johnny Quest With All Stars Music 1:22 - 1:33
  • lol, they still use the swirling star (under the time warner instead of taft)

  • R.I.P. William Hanna and Joseph Barbera the best to ever do it

  • powerpuff girls was the last show featured by hanna barbera

  • Is all not right with the world when that star's going 'round? What a gorgeous sound.

  • Ha! I loved that star. All those old cartoons I'd watch and couldn't remember what company it was from

  • SOME OF them swirling star thingy are from scooby doo and some other ones (cant remenber the name)

  • I grew up with the swirling star.

  • At 0:21 ....so many childhood memories.

  • I loved the new age one when I was a kid...and I used to be afraid of the star one...the one with all the characters going crazy is my favorite...oh the memories

  • what show is the 3rd logo from?

  • @ryda91 A Scooby-Doo show.

  • 1:18 The audio (all the wacky sfx with the "El Kabong" guitar crash at the end), imho, does not match up with the "Johnny Quest-Bird Man-Space Ghost-Herculoid" logo!

  • The Zooming HB logo is the all time greatest logo the cartoons associated with it says it all

  • 1:11 is my favorite HB logo. Never cared for the swirling star one.

  • @2000rubs Hmm...I have the Wacky Races DVD, but I don't think I'd ever seen that one before. They might show it on Boomerang, but I haven't watched either one in so long that I can't remember.

  • I must say, outta all the logos I've seen from these companies, I love every single one from Hanna Barbera. RIP to them both.

  • Damn, I haven't seen that shooting star since what, 1997? 1990's Cartoon Network was awesome. Not only did it have a lot of great original shows, but it showed all the cartoons from the past 50 years. From what I've seen, Cartoon Network (or I guess it's just CN now) has stopped showing classics, instead focusing on live action shows in what I can only assume is an attempt compete with Disney.

  • The 15th logo you put up is one I saw from a 'What's new, Scooby Doo' episode on Comcast On Demand.

  • The best memory of my childhood: The sweet sound of that Hanna Barbera Star!!

  • does anyonw have the logo used when the Flintstones celebrated their 30th anniversary? It can be seen during to closing credits of the first season of the Bill and Ted cartoon

  • Dink The Little Dinosaur Is The Same Better Then The Land Before Time With Cartoon Dinosaurs. Dink The Little Dinosaur Is From Warner Bros and Hanna Barbera. The Land Before Time Is From Universal.

  • Where did the Muttley logo come from?

  • 0:33 is the one I remember the best

  • the swirl star was use from 1979-1993

  • @KRnumba9

They were so many version of swirl star.

I think the last time that i saw the swirl star logo was used was in powerpuff girls

    in 2001.

  • @KRnumba9

and the last one to use that logo was Yo Yogi!

  • @KRnumba9 But it came back in around 1998 when it was used in the "Powerpuff Girls" and "Dexter's Laboratory" until 2004.

  • That 3rd logo, was it for some horror film they were making at the time?

The swirling star is a classic though, what series/year was that first used, anyone know?

  • I Like The logo At 1:00

  • 0:28 - 0: 31 In which series the swirling star appeared like this?

  • I remember a lot of these. :D

  • Note spiral spinning to the right. With single upwards facing star...

  • I loved that first one, but I am also a zoomaphobe. Im happy but scared! Its like a hot and cold air mass! MY EMOTIONS ARE A TORNADO!!

  • One that was missing was the one that HB used n the early 90s where it featured Fred Flintsone n a 'prehistoric' tux, w/cane and top hat dancing, celebrating the first 30 years of the Flintsones.

  • Yes brings back some good memories looking at the 'swirling star' logo. It used 2 scare me when I was a kid

  • i remember the H-B logo from the early-mid 70's when i was very young(between 3-8yrs old) when scooby doo where went into syndication. they used to come on CBS early SAT morning. another favorite was the star going in circles. classic

  • yo recuerdo mucho el de los 90`s

  • the first 2 i remember watching cartoons in the late 60's and early 70's... josey and the Pussy cats and the jackson 5 cartoon.

  • Thank you SO MUCH for this video. I been looking for the star logo with good quality for a while to make a song with. 5 Stars.

  • I used to have nightmares that the swirling star would come and kill me

  • scary!

  • RIP, Hanna-Barbara Productions!!!

  • yeah, now is called Cartoon Network Studios, sincerely they should kept the original name as tribute Hanna Barbera Productions (fits more than Hanna Barbera cartoons)

  • Hanna-Barbara was owned by 5 companies then and now!!!!!! Keep going strong, Cartoon Network!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @pancakeman22

HB are no longer a company they just only a logo left to this day and other

big company was defuncted HB and ran its portal site, this big company is

    Warner bros.

And CN was pretty much forgotten HB by now only to ditch all of the HB cartoons

    to Boomerang.

  • Did you notice how many different companies owned different cartoons of the same production company?

Between Turner, Time-Warner, HB, Taft, and Great American.

  • SEGA can't win in the logo history battle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Swirling star is best logo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, I'm fond of the swirling star too.

  • Excelente!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • RESPECT FOR HANNA BARBERA

  • Thank you so much for posting this

    I like to see these logo's. Cartoon's

back then they had more meaning

    and care than today's cartoon's.

  • This video clip is used for PBS Kids Bookworm Bunch's very first show ever. PBS Kids Bookworm Bunch's very first show ever is The Flintstones it was on ABC from 1960 - 1966.

  • The swirling star is the best. The last few before they came back with the star were kind of lame. The noises reminded me of Klasky Csupo.

  • What If Hanna-Barbera Did The International Theme For Goosebumbs?

  • The Swirling logo was the first I have watched when I was a child. Nowadays, it sucks to see Hanna and Barbera die. This was one of the best logos I have ever watched.

To Hanna and Barbera: thanks for the many years of the best cartoons (Scooby-Doo, Flintstones) that has changed history.

R.I.P. to great and the realest cartoons and the coolest logos from back in the day

  • in 1997 the logo was on PFG

  • How come they had to replace the Swirling Star with crap? Thankfully they brought it back.

  • Thanks to 90s Cartoon Network I think it's safe to say I saw almost every variation of the Hanna-Barbera logo. Sucks that both William Hanna and Joseph Barbera passed away this past decade. They made some of my childhood favorites like The Flinstones, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, and they also worked on many Tom and Jerry shorts during their time at MGM.

  • @BloodRedFox2008 don't forget the smurfs and yogi bear. I loved those. Even when I was twenty, I was watching cartoon network. Now, Cartoon network is going down the crapper.

  • @BloodRedFox2008 Boomerang?

  • @BloodRedFox2008 - Dont forget The Powerpuff Girls!

  • @BloodRedFox2008 Not only that the company remains were absorbed by Warner Brothers and according to wikipedia, when they both passed away the company was left without a chairman so Warner bros toookover and they immediately shut and tore down the main building and move the company into their headquater were eventually end up turning into an archival office.

  • @BloodRedFox2008 oh yeah i remember reading about that. the tom and jerry thing not the m dying.

  • 0:11 was the first logo

  • I wish to do My own Hanna Barbara Productions Logo History.

  • 1:07 good times

  • YES!!!! from 1:07 up I had goosebumps! I remember all of them but I forgot about these. I miss my childhood =[

  • accordin to me, 0:08 sounds the best

  • Never knew there were so many version of the star.. I saw all those logos on TV! Whoop xD And yeh Muttley Laugh ftw! hehe

  • Great!

I only be able to watch 5 of them before

    this video.

the one that i watched before are:

Swirling star with taft byline and the

3D swirling star with turner and time warner byline

    Hanna-Batbera tags with very small

    turner logo at the bottom.

I didn't know that there're so many version

    of swirling star.

  • THE STAR! :) I love that sound. What memories!

  • @VoilaMsViola Yeah man. I agree that the spinning swish rainbow stars were the best and most memorable ones. That sound makes me feel as though I have time travelled.

  • The 1979 theme sort of tips me off ... it's like Hoyt Curtin had copied the 1972 WGBH logo jingle. In other words: Hoyt Curtin meets Philip Glass.

  • Note to gagaman:

It *does* send a chill down my spine...but in a positive way. The C-Major chord sounds 'jolly & uplifting' (or do we say 'funtastic'?) and not 'of despair', IMHO..

Think of it like this, m8..when you see a shooting star like that in the nighttime sky, two very talented and wonderful men (Bill & Joe) are watching over you from heaven..

  • BadNews88 - Yes! I agree. The chord is beautiful. Sadly, I don't have a way to slow down the star [I want to know exactly what instruments they used.]

I could listen to the star all day. :)

  • @VoilaMsViola

Hoyt Curtin used a polyphonic synthesizer and/or a Fender Rhodes electric piano with flange effect.

  • @VoilaMsViola try C#maj7 or C#maj9 or just modulate it a semitone....

  • I always hated the sound that fecking star made. Still sends a chill down my spine.

  • Memories... I used to love hearing the sound of the swirling star after the cartoons were over!!

  • Haha 0:08 is from Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!

  • Actually it's from The New Scooby-Doo Movies if you watch it on Boomerang to the end I think you'll see it on there.

  • No, the all star (Action) shows up after the credits actully from 1:07.

  • The other "Rainbow H-B" (which is sped up for PAL broadcast) seen here is from "The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour."

  • 1:24 from powerpuff girls and i never noticed that it said Hanna Barbera CARTOONS! I always thought it said Productions!

  • I like the little chime just after the star stops swirling.

  • I remember the swriling star logo after the smurfs

  • What about the smaller version of the Rainbow (the first Popeye season, The Three Robonic Stooges, etc)?

  • I dont know why, but the logo at 0:56 to 1:02 with Mutley or whatever his name was, laughing...that really scared me as a young child, i remember seeing it on a Scooby doo VHS tape i had when i was a child

  • So have they now gone back to the Swirling Star logo?

  • Maybe. The last one is fake - it was made by thewi2kbug.

  • I like the one at 0:08 and 1:12

  • Comment removed

  • Was there the Time Warner byline?

  • You're missing the rainbow logo that came on after The Tom And Jerry Show.

  • and the AOL Time Warner variant

  • what is so scary about the spinning star logo...I think it was the best one other than the newer ones with all the characters hitting the screen

  • 1:07-1:12 i used to hear that in 1999 when i dexters labotory finished

  • Wow, that star going around in circles along with the music sounds scary. Brings me back to my childhood years.

  • In that dark place, the only thing within miles of us is that star. Its trying to intimidate us because we're on its territory. You can hear the music when it chases you. There's no getting away from that thing.

  • ive neaver seen the one at 0:49

  • I believe it comes before "Jetsons:The Movie."

  • @monkey1525soljaboy It's from the Jetsons movie

  • Wow! There's really none of these that I don't like! Thanks for uploadinfg these!

  • 1:12 IS THE ONE i JUST NOW SAW ON tv!! XD

  • 1:23 - Taken from the Powerpuff Girls (1998-2005)

  • The logo @ 0:09 would have scared the living shit outta me, if I'd seen it, growing up! LMAO!! It's just so loud and startling, but good, nonetheless.

  • As much as I liked the swirling star, I thought it improved light-years when they started to have it swirl on its axis as well. The last one captures the feeling of H-B best to me -- the CGI swirling star with the "Hanna-Barbera" appearing to be handwritten -- nice combination. Thanks for the posting

  • 1:22 is my favorite ! :)

  • Thanks for your comments.

  • @metrodfclpt: Hey, just letting you know I've uploaded a Fish Police version of the HB logo. Check it out.

  • One of the Hanna Barbera logos that I'm scared of is the zooming logo and the swirling star. But it's an awesome video. :)

  • What exactly is scary about it? I always come across these old company logos and see people making comments about how they did or do scare them. I never understood what's so scary about any of them. lol

  • It's because of the music. tehehe! :)

  • i like this musice. xD

  • At 0:42, what shows used the CGI Swirling Star w/ the Taft Byline?

  • The Richie Rich Show, I think.

  • I thought the Richie Rich Show used the 1979-early '80s Swirling Star version?

The Snorks don't have that variation.

I think this must've appeared on The Flintstones Kids, b/c I saw a couple of times on the old Family Channel.

I've never seen Foofur before, so I can't comment on that show.

So it might be a toss between The Flinstones Kids and Foofur since both of those debuted between 1986-87 periods when Taft was still around distributed H-B shows.

  • Season 1 of "The Richie Rich/Scooby-Doo Show" used the original 1979 version, season 2 used the 1981 version (1981-82 season).

  • @megamanj2004X

Snorks used the 1983 subvariation of the logo through the 1985-86 season, then used the 1986 CGI Swirling Star for its last seasons.

Foofur and The Flintstone Kids also originally (and obviously) had the 1986 CGI version.

  • Johnny Quest was on that logo

  • the twelth logo sounds like the simpsons theme song

  • It think it's The Jetson's Theme. In fact, I never noticed the similarity until now. Huh.

  • 0:28 - 0:31 no too clear

  • I was born during the final season of the non-CGI Swirling Star logo.

I remember the CGI one appearing on The Smurfs, The Snorks (1987-88 eps.), The Jetsons (S3 from when they had that 2 shades of light blue background closing credits), Popeye and Son, The Flintstones Kids, and the Powerpuff Girls among shows.

  • 1991?

  • nope. The 1985-86 TV season was the last season w/ the pre-CGI Swirling Star Variation.
