  • Ever feel like this? I do, too often.Thank you, Mr. Cutler, and rest in peace.

  • Dear Icor. [typo, but fate demands it stays]

We might not have wanted to be him, but we are very fortunate that Ivor was here with us.

Hearing him when I was a teenager 50 years ago was hugely encouraging and heartening. "This is possible; this is allowed" is perhaps the most important message a young person can inhale.

  • @smikestack I completely agree with you. I wish that information had been more readily available to me as a child, but like you I found it through Ivor (and a few others). I hadn't realised what positive things could be made from pain and not belonging.

  • I heard this song on an import album that was a compilation of tunes by various artists.

The cover of the album was a black man's hand that had 6 fingers on it. WTF ?

  • @515paramore The 'V' Sampler. Wonderful collection. I'd LOVE to find that one again.

  • Don't mind if I break wind and you thump me when you sit beside me on the grass. I ate many beans and if it seems there's fire coming out my ass, scorching all the grass. Alas, now I know why you thump me when you sit beside me on the grass.

  • @rolandrog i wish my brother could read this...i'm still laughing. thank you

  • Scotland should be proud to have produced a brilliant, charming, perceptive, brilliant looney-poet like this. Send us more urgently.

  • as a scotsman.... this tune is about a father son relationship.... u will remember in strict words when dad is gone...

  • sounds a little slow .. wrong speed?

  • Go and sit upon on the Grass and I will come and smash your fucking head in LOL

  • Great, the nail is needed! Who is Jimmy Magee?

  • Anyone got "life in a scotch sitting room" by Ivor Cutler

  • I bumped into him about 15 years ago at the photographers gallery in London, he was dressed in a deer stalkers hat tweed cape and looked very much like Sherlock Holmes, He emerged from the gents toilet and I said Ivor what a pleasure to meet you, he said " I do not believe I have made your acquaintance before so I believe the correct introduction should refer to me as Mr Cutler" I didn't shake his hand as I wasn't sure he had washed his hands

  • @Hearsonpearson Ha-Ha! Quite! I don't blame you.

  • @Hearsonpearson hahaha, beautiful short story...

  • @Hearsonpearson he was right.
