  • @LuigiFletcherBieber Okay, no offense, I've got nothing against Justin Beiber, but this is a freaking LION KING video. Where people make comments about the LION KING. NOT Justin Bieber. Go say this to the Beiber fans, not the Disney fans who don't give a crap.

  • BRING ME BACK MY CHILDHOOD....

  • When this was going I legit had to hold back tears. It was so beautiful, the costumes breataking, the voices (ESPECIALLY RAFIKI'S. THAT WOMAN HAS A BEAUTIFUL VOICE.) were all gorgeous and I was completely awe-struck.

  • i was in the musical in germany. and during the first seconds i was like: "OMG. i wanna cry. this is so amazing"

i totally just downloaded the whole entire broadway soundtrack to lion king but when i hear this one....I cant help but want to go to Africa n just sing this song while walking around!!!

  • 0:00 - 1:25 is the greatest piece of vocal music EVER!!!!

  • Better music wonderful voices better than the music! By far!!!

  • 3:40 most epic scene i´ve ever seen

  • i love how mufasa's face gets squished at 2:28 when he nods at zazu

    :)

  • the old disney movies are definetly the greatest animated films ive ever seen.

The animated movies today are just funny to watch, but not such masterpieces!

  • "Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba" [Here comes a lion, Father]

"Sithi uhm ingonyama" [Oh yes, it's a lion]

    "Nants ingonyama bagithi baba

    Sithi uhhmm ingonyama

    Ingonyama"

"Siyo Nqoba" [We're going to conquer]

    "Ingonyama"

"Ingonyama nengw' enamabala" [A lion and a leopard come to this open place] (this line repeats throughout the song)

  • @Polelover44 Thanks for translating!

  • @Polelover44 i just read your comment and was wondering how you know this

  • @rsracer118 google.

  • 2 words

    Mind Blown

  • disney used to be so much more soulful

  • I sang "The Lion King" with my chorus class in 10th grade as part of our Spring Musical Spectacular, as I call it. I was a bird in the program.

  • OMG how powerful was that!! :O

  • This song is so epic that theres even a drumline lick for it!

  • "WHAAAAAAT'S ON THE MENUUUUU"

I´ve been ROFL for a week with your joke. Thank you for such a great time XDDDDD

  • great song. The Lion King will always have a place in my heart. I'm hoping to see TLK ON TOUR summer 2011!

  • I cant describe how this song makes me feel and even to try would be doing it a disservice.

  • Love this movie - and the musical. But students can do musical to - English Student Theatre from Slovenia performed this - Loved it!

  • 12 people aren't connected to the great circle of life

  • @EricVierthaler92 12 hyenas were exiled to the Outlands

  • This chills my bones

  • ah i kip beggin ma mum ta get me tickets to this to see it live omg i love this film so much it wud mk me so damn happy :P

  • This is pretty cool, but I gotta say, It's SO much more amazing live in the theater. The energy from the song is 20000x this clip, and the last note from the bass drum? They let it ring so great, its thunder shakes the entire room (we were near the back, and it was chilling). And for the sunrise in the beginning, the props they use to recreate that is just unbelievable.

PS: at our showing in NY last spring, the actor for Rafiki, performing since the broadway release, retired after our show. :D!!

  • I saw this in London with school. I was nearly crying at this song, all the memories from my childhood. So beautiful... ♥

  • Thats such a wonderful song. shivers run down my spine whenever i hear this song :D Nice greetings from germany :D

  • Thats such a wonderful song. shivers run down my spine whenever i hear this song :D Nice greetings from germany :D

  • I really REALLY want to see the beautiful broadway show SO bad

  • The person who is singing is not Rafiki!!! It sounds like a girl!!!

  • @holliztr831 The part of Rafiki is played by a woman in the Broadway production of "Lion King".

  • so much emotions. fanastic

  • man i love this so much especially this version im 22 and still enjoy watching the lion king have been since i was a kid

  • Best song!

    Best film!

    Wonderful childhood...

  • i saw this while i was in london. it was an amazing experience.

  • @lilyellowduckiePhD same!! back in 2004, I will never forget it. how about when they come running down the aisle from the doors we walked in!!!

  • @maxpalamo thats awesome! and ya it was incredible, just a fabulous show.

  • Great! Awesome!

  • It doesn't get any better than the Disney classics. The Lion King is the best Disney has, and will ever do.

  • @patrickrhyne My favorite is Aladdin, but Lion King is damn close 2nd. I saw this at the Pantages. If I die tomorrow, I will rest easy knowing I experienced this. Words cannot express how incredible this play is. If anyone says they enjoy claims they are a fan of Broadway, it would be criminal to NOT see this.

  • At the point Mufasa hugs Rafiki, (in real life) he'd bare his claws and tear the damn primate to pieces, and then start roaring.

  • i want to see this play so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SapphirePixieDust

    This ain't a play.

This is Art. The best bit of Art I've personally ever seen.

  • @SapphirePixieDust I saw it. the most AMAZING thing ever :)

  • So much better than the movie version

  • This is a song full of Nostalgia.

  • I want to see the broadway version of The Lion King really bad.

  • Saw this for my school, it was amazing.

  • Lol after reading the Lyrics, I just remembered that on the London show (Saw it several years ago BEST SHOW EVER!) Rafriki was played by a woman XD

    Good times, good memories

I wanna see it again T-T

  • These few minutes are probably one of the best sequences in the history of animation. The energy of these singers (IMO, better than the original version for the film) is so electrifying, evoking so primitive emotions, that I feel like I've been African all my life!

  • @benevenutus you should watch the beginning of Tarzan, the foundations for the story are so cleverly presented to the audience in the first few minutes. The rest of the film is not so great but worth just youtubing Tarzan part 1 on here. kisses.

  • @benevenutus

Though I am from India.. However , I agree with with you..

  • @benevenutus the movie version makes sense for the movie. watching this video you can see the music is misplaced. its too intense. in the musical it fits.

  • i remember my best friend in kindergarden gave me this movie as a present because she always had to cry when mufasa died :)

  • I'd say the movie version and Broadway version are equal.

  • I prefer the film version. This one's a bit too slow and ongoing. But it's still good.

  • I'm going to see the broadway musical in October for my early sweet 16 present!!!

  • @animallover2047 A few years ago my sister stage managed The Lion King Musical in London's West End, and we got a backstage tour and to meet the actors: it was an incredible experience to be able to meet the people that give so much passion to these musicals. Also, the effects they use on the stage for Mufasa appearing to Simba and the waterhole and stuff is amazing!!

I know you'll enjoy it, so have fun :)

  • okay, so i grew up with this movie and ive loved african music ever since but i have a hard time finding this particular type of music (specifically the beginning, not the elton john part) what country or region of Africa's music is most similar to that?

  • LISTEN as they bring up the sun!!!!! WOW! AMAZING!

  • Disney should re-record this album with the current National Tour and Broadway casts... It would be incredible to listen to Brenda Mhlongo singing Circle of Life... =]

  • I never could be able to bought this movie I hope in the next re edition

  • My favorite part is the ants

  • Wow.

  • BRILLENT SONG MARY TRAEACY SOUTH TIPP

  • Oh my god, I remember watching this while in New York. It was absolutely amazing. I remember the animals walking around and I was in a balcony and suddenly two huge black men with birds appeared below me and it was hilarious hahaha. I lvoe thisso much

  • @renatabrega I was in the mezza and i had an elephant come down next to me and i got scared hahahah

  • LOL! i remember when i was a lil kid watching the movie, i started cracking up after i heard the first few words !!

  • I saw this! The opening was freaking epic! I know many theaters are different, but in the Mandalay Bay theater in Vegas, the animals walked down the aisles i think when it begins at 1:00, pretty sick, especially since I was at the end of a row, and some giraffe man walked by me.

Again, this was a sick musical, I really want to see this again!

  • haha thanks :)

  • i am doing the opening chant for this song in choir. it is so cool

  • @Barrelcrazzy omg good luck cause i did the opening chant for my school play and the words are so odd but when you actually listen to it played its sound so cool...like it actually means something to you and its the greatest feeling ever when you finish singing

    <3

  • i wake up to this song.......it works. haha

  • @imagemenow hahha so do I. it just makes the day great

  • Meant Beautiful :)
