  • thumbs up if the book money ball brought you here

  • @jooby24

the movie Moneyball brought me here instead

  • you record this with a bottle of asprin? nice, forget 240p we got some 14baud going on here

  • I have to do a little bragging because I'm at Chads house right now and we are playing ping pong.

  • Some people just can't see the greatness in his pitching. He is just one of the most unique pitchers in all of baseball.

  • A: Movement > Velo [especially for sidearmers/submariners].

B: 90 is a little quick for a Bradford type arm-angle; the ball tends to straighten out the harder it's thrown. Bradford's movement is more effective in the 85-87 range (usually where he sits).

C: Sidearmers/submariners just tend to look more funky than your generic pitcher (most can attribute their success to that factor and their movement; not usually velocity from down low).

  • To be completely honest, Chad Bradford is one of those pitchers who have a "pitch-identification irony" when he releases the ball. His submarine windup is so perplexing that you might think they actually throws the ball at the ground, thus causing it to make a huge leap towards the batter and catcher. I wish that specific talent was innate to me.

  • *who has a "pitch-identification irony"*

    Sorry, grammatical error.

  • Many professional hitters actually admit that they would rather face a pitcher throwing in the high 90's rather than to face a sidearmer. Sure, the fear factor in facing a sidearmer isn't as great as it is against a flame thrower, but it takes more skill and focus to hit a sidearmer.

  • yeah just the angle of the pitch is so different hitters ned to approach them different

  • stfu... weve heard that enought... ya i saw him pitch vs the blue jays last year... when he was with the orioles.. lol he had like an 84 mph fastball... pretty good for underhand.. he still beats Byun Hyun Kim who hits only 82 lol

  • byun throws like 90... ha not 82

  • he was pretty good on the a's in 2005

  • I agree...motion beats velocity.

  • I agree...velocity beats motion.

  • I agree...motion beats velocity.

  • I agree...motion beats velocity.

  • I agree...motion beats velocity.

  • I agree...motion beats velocity.

  • most sidearmers are lucky to break 90mph. the idea of sudearming is movement and deception, not speed. and it just looks cool.

  • yea but know it's more common to have sidearmers

    break 90. Heres a few Nesek(sp?)(96-97),Schroder

    (95-96),Smith (94-95). But submariners throw about 80

  • what are u talkin about neshek and smith throw 88-92

  • haha but yeah, what he makes up for in velocity he has the ability of deception and control from down under.

  • why don't you try throwing over 90 underhand dumbass

  • @Shenk0502 go fuck yourself you worthless peice of shit

  • hahah chad bradford barley throws 82 get real

  • Does anyone know his max speed?

  • 88 mph. Sadly never above that 90 mark-
