Japan was able to bounce back from this destruction, and their population is strong and thriving. The united states is still struggling to replace a couple buildings knocked down 10 years ago.
The Japs are more upset that they didn't have the atomic bombs themselves that they could've used aginst America, rather than because so many of their civilians got killed - the same civilians who were already turning into Jap soldiers who killed American soldiers or turned into workers who made weapons for the Jap soldiers, as well as ready to kill any American soldier who may invade Japan themselves.
Yes Japan attacked first but we didn't help the situation leading up to the attack. There are a lot more factors than just who attacked who first. Though on another note, as horrible as the bombs were it probably saved many more lives. The death toll of actually invading mainland Japan would have been catastrophic on both sides.

People have to remember that Japan was trying to take over Asia and the Pacific. They bombed Pearl Harbor and attacked european islands. Japan was the aggressor at this time. Also the Japanese had a ton of pride in there country and weren't just going to surrender. The only way the war was going to end was if we invaded Japan or dropped nuclear bombs on them. Dropping the bombs was cheaper, faster, and didn't put more American lives in danger. We warned Japan before it happened too.

@Kleeeenex1 They invaded Malaya, which was occupied by Britain. We didn't drop these bombs on random cities. Both cities had important roles in the Japanese army. Hiroshima had the Second Army and Chugoku Regional Army headquartered in it. It had large military depots and was key in shipping. Nagasaki was a big military shipping port. Japan never threatened America? They bombed Pearl Harbor and killed 3,000 U.S soldiers when we hadn't joined the war yet. Japan is the reason we went to war.

The United States warned Japan for months before dropping these bombs. The USAF dropped pamphlets describing the destruction of these bombs to the average citizens of japan. The Japanese Government did not heed these warnings. These bombs were not used Barbarically. They were and are a weapon of war. If Japan had this technology at the time, they absolutely would have used these bombs on The United States. With everything on the table, this was the best decision, to end this war.

That being said, Japan's Navy and air power were both shattered and it didn't take atomic bombs to do it. Ever hear of the Battle of Midway? US had inferior equipment yet still ruined Japan's fleet. Japan was going to lose, it was inevitable, especially if Russia had joined in. Japan's war production was in shambles.

The Japs are more upset that they didn't have the atomic bombs themselves that they could've used aginst America, rather than because so many of their civilians got killed - the same civilians who were already turning into Jap soldiers who killed American soldiers or turned into workers who made weapons for the Jap soldiers, as well as ready to kill any American soldier who may invade Japan themselves.

Yes Japan attacked first but we didn't help the situation leading up to the attack. There are a lot more factors than just who attacked who first. Though on another note, as horrible as the bombs were it probably saved many more lives. The death toll of actually invading mainland Japan would have been catastrophic on both sides.

People have to remember that Japan was trying to take over Asia and the Pacific. They bombed Pearl Harbor and attacked european islands. Japan was the aggressor at this time. Also the Japanese had a ton of pride in there country and weren't just going to surrender. The only way the war was going to end was if we invaded Japan or dropped nuclear bombs on them. Dropping the bombs was cheaper, faster, and didn't put more American lives in danger. We warned Japan before it happened too.

Hiroshima had the Second Army and Chugoku Regional Army headquartered in it. It had large military depots and was key in shipping. Nagasaki was a big military shipping port. Japan never threatened America? They bombed Pearl Harbor and killed 3,000 U.S soldiers when we hadn't joined the war yet. Japan is the reason we went to war.

The United States warned Japan for months before dropping these bombs. The USAF dropped pamphlets describing the destruction of these bombs to the average citizens of japan. The Japanese Government did not heed these warnings. These bombs were not used Barbarically. They were and are a weapon of war. If Japan had this technology at the time, they absolutely would have used these bombs on The United States. With everything on the table, this was the best decision, to end this war.

@Kleeeenex1 Japan was not going to be easy to beat. Not claiming it was. Like I said before, casualties from invading Japan would have been in the millions. That being said, Japan's Navy and air power were both shattered and it didn't take atomic bombs to do it. Ever hear of the Battle of Midway? US had inferior equipment yet still ruined Japan's fleet. Japan was going to lose, it was inevitable, especially if Russia had joined in. Japan's war production was in shambles.

For my money, Japan had this coming to them. Their extremist military leadership at the time of 1933-45 forgot the most important technical rule of all in warfare : "never start something you can't finish". Same thing happened to that devil Hitler. The Japs deserved karmic payback for all the horrible atrocities they committed upon all those Asians + Western Allied POWs during 1933-45. It was unfortunate that many civillians died, but it was also unfortunate that the Japanese slaughtered 22 million+ civillians. Learn some history before picking a side. Japan had 3 million fully trained soldiers, and over 20 million civilians memebers of an armed militia on the Japanaese mainlands. They weren't necesarily defencless.
