  • are you malaysian? You said la. :O

  • @RachelChoyHoHe nope, I'm Singaporean

  • @jedimindless Hmmm okay. :|

  • Hey there - thanks so much for your help. You put out some of the best instructional videos.. this one really helped me with the strum pattern. God bless!

  • THNAK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

  • @InMeHeLives18 one of them was a D/F# which is played 200233, the other is a F which is played 133211

  • @InMeHeLives18 it's the standard A chord. x02220

  • Is the strumming pattern: D D UDUD D each?....pls correct me if im wrong also what do you mean by the D being suspended?

  • the strumming pattern i use is D D UDUDD DU. The last DU is actually meant for changing between chords. As for D suspended, it's a Dsus chord which you might have come across before. It's played like a D, but with your pinky added onto the 1st string 3rd fret

  • thank you sooo much for your help! this is the first video I have seen that shows the strumming pattern!

  • great voice and your an excellent help!!! :) thanks God bless!

  • I just started learning to play the guitar and Holy is the Lord is the first video I started learning. Your instructional video has helped me so much and has really inspired me to improve. I hope to one day to be able to play worship songs and I know I'll be watching more of your instructional vids. Thanks Daniel! You've been a really blessing. Praise God!!

  • I meant the first song I started learning...

  • Be sure to check out the New Song Cafe channel here on You Tube. The artists give great lessons on how to play their songs there.

  • 2:02 G over B. :)

  • You're an excellent teacher CT!! Thank you for your time and posting your wisdom!! Bravo from Dallas TX!

  • thanks daniel all your videos have helped me so much, ever since i seen your first video i've improved with my guitar playing and learning.worship songs is all i love to hear and play. now god has made me a worship leader for my church at celebrate recovery.i thank god for you bro godbless daniel in jesus name

  • My principal and I are in the process of learning this song for an upcoming fiesta:]

We went to your blog spot website and found the tabs, but we still aren't clear with the B over D chord. Please help?

  • Excellent voice, guitar playing and video.

  • Dude, your crazy LOL. I like how your voice changes! I need to learn how to do that! Is there any video lessons on youtube to help your vocals?

  • can you send me the order of the pattern. because i couldn't get i down cause it was fast. i only got the firt part down down up down up down down. can you please tell me

  • basically, the strumming pattern i used was D,D,UDU,DD,DU. so, you change somewhere in the middle of the strumming pattern, like G (D,D,U) C (DU,DD,DU) and then the next chord. hope it helps

  • Do you ever think about making a CD or at least playing at different events?

You would make an incredible worship leader

  • do you happen to know how much beats per second the song has??

  • the song is a 4/4 beat song. you can actually tell when to change when you play the verse. G// C// D Em// C// D. this is just a way of telling you which ones are 2 beats. the "//" represents 2 beats

  • i know how to play this song, but somewhere throughout the song i get lost with the strumming pattern....it would really help if you could please tell me the strumming pattern between each chord of the song.....thanks a lot, and keep praising God.....

  • erm, basically you have to know which chord should be played for 2 beats. those are the chords where you change within the strumming pattern mentioned in the video. for those chords which are played for 4 beats, you play the whole strumming pattern without changing chords in the middle

  • thanks for posting all videos, it certainly help me alot in practicing, really appreciate...may the LORD take you higher

  • thanks man i dont know how to play many songs from my church so ya thanks

  • Man this ins. vid helped tremendously. Basically, I couldn't play this song until I came across your vid. Thanks a lot! Great Job!

  • always a pleasure to help. you're welcome

  • hey thanks a lot for uploading. I really REALLY appreciate it. Now I'm practicing to play this piece.

  • mind of u send my the cords? 4 i can print it out?

  • the chords can be found on my brother's blog. he has tabbed out the song. the address to his blog can be found on my channel description page

  • so its D,D,UDU,DD,DU but where in those strum patterns do i change chords???

  • erm, you change somewhere at the 3rd D

  • thanks daniel=)..good job..Godbless you more and your talent.! keep up=)!

  • Thanks God he gave u a good talent to sing and play guitar in order for u to share and contribute your talent to everyone..

    Keep up the good work....

    God bless u.

  • Nvm figured it out. thanks!

  • How is the B played, the Tab doesnt show it right because it doesnt look like the way you play it.

And what was the chord you play before F in the bridge?

  • Thank you for your contribution to us all in our ability to use our guitars in worship. You have truly helped me to learn to play. May Our Lord richly bless you. I hope that what you have done with these videos bring many to The Kingdom of Jesus.

  • Oh wait i think I know what your talking about.

Change to C at or about the first-second up. Listen to the song from Chris tomlin or daniel choos video. Youll notice itll sound alot like it.

My question though is, its basicly every chord over a D sus right?

So the shapes of C, Em, D, but with the pinky and ring sus shape?

  • i don't know if that's how chris tomlin plays it, but yes, i play it with the pinky and ring sus shape

  • your amazing dude

  • can you tell me what the chords are ????

  • you can go to my brother's blog to find out what the chords are for this song

  • can you please tell me the strumming pattern i didnt get all of it

  • D,D,UDU,DD,DU

  • when do u exactly change to a nother chord

  • somewhere after the first up, alternatively, if you want an easier strumming pattern, you could use D,D,DU then change to the next chord and continue with D,D,DU. maybe you could give it a try

  • so after the first up i go to a C then when do i change to a D then E m?

D D U (change to C) UDU DD DU where are the other chords..

im new at guitar just trying to save money by looking at ur tutorials

  • When you play the chorus you play an F, but you said that you can substitute that. What's the tabs for it? :P I can't quite get it.

  • ya broke it down "Barney-Style". Thanks!

  • do u recommen any guitars from the price range of 700-1000 us dollars?

  • sorry, i don't know much about guitars. i just bought mine based on its sound and feel

  • Dude, thank you. This vid is a really easy way to learn this song. It's really the only song I can play and it gets my brothers annoyed cuz it's all they hear. haha. Just one question. When I play the B over a D, it sounds really cruddy and doesn't really sound right. I'm not really sure what the finger placments are for the chord. Help please. haha :)

  • the B over a D is x20233. i think the reason why it sounds cruddy is because you strum the 6th string as well. Try not to touch the 6th string when strumming the B over a D.

  • ok. thanks man.

  • I forgot to mention what C are you playing.WHat about the first finger on the first fret second string??

  • i think the proper name for the C is C9. it's played by just moving down your middle and index finger by one string each from the G

  • Excellent voice, guitar playing and video. This has inspired me to play again but this time for the lord.....:)

  • Truly great....Thank you so much you have sewn a great seed my brother...Would you plz put me on your friend list I am a christian too..You cant get instruction like this from a book..Thank you brother

  • thanks man... details of my guitar are in the channel description page

  • You got a good voice, keep it up my friend. God bless x

  • Alright. Thanks dude.

  • Are you muting the E string after you play and G?

  • not really. but it's standard to not strum the E string when you play the C

  • i've just heard of this song a few weeks back. i love it. :) i'll try learning it. :)

  • beutiful!

  • Thanks for your time I believe you are being a blessing for others already!! God Bless.

  • Thank you s much for posting this. THe "Down, down, up, down, up" helps me out so much! It's the only way i learn strums is to do the up down strategy! I picked up this song so quickly on my guitar, and I've only been playing for a month. Thanks again! Keep em coming! P.S. Awesome Voice!

  • Top voice son!!!

  • down, up, down, up, down, down. Thats the best.

  • lol...great video!

  • down, down, up, down, up, down, down!

  • Hey,

I don't have the song on me at the moment, but I remember there being the need for a capo when I play this. I'm pretty certain it's on the first or third fret. Don't hold me to that. It's just that the recording is not in G (based on my perhaps faulty memory). You might want to add that in your video.

Nevertheless, sounds good in G and you have a solid sound,

    myTubesRedux

  • hi, you are probably right. I'm just playing in a key which i can sing to :)

  • nice vid!

  • Down down up down up down down down up down down up up w00t w00t you are my hero! No joke. I want your face on a t-shirt with "down down up up down up down" underneath. ROCK ON

  • good playing, but you use the hard version for the chords, also G with an extra finger is called a double G, or a true g, and with D you can add the extra finger after you switch as a hammeron and it will sound better. F Doesn't have to be played as a barchord, you can drop your top fingers down on C and cover the bottom 2 strings on the first fret with 1 finger. But other than that, good

  • Yes, it's true that it will sound nicer with the hammeron on the D, but isn't that more complicated then? Just trying to simplify things with basic chords.

As for the F, i guess that F can be used as well, i was just following what i saw from Chris Tomlin's instructional version. But it's all good. Thanks for the comments though :)

  • sometimes things sound better when they are a bit more complex don't you think?

  • ur rite it will be alot more complicated with the D and F together. i like try to do it ur way because im not really a pro at guitar.

  • you are a great teacher when it comes to teaching songs on the guitar! i play it someone different than you, but yours sounds better than mine. keep up the awesome work! the Lord will bless you in many ways! :)

  • amazing vid!! thanx for helping!!

  • The B over D chord is you name should be a G/B. Anyway - very cool

  • heh, sorry, i don't know the proper name for it. But thanks anyway

  • basically, you're playing a D chord, but using a B bass note. so your index finger goes to the 5th string 2nd fret.

  • hi daniel, thx for the instructional videos, hey daniel can you post instructional videos for 'How great is our God' by Chris Tomlin. Waitin for more instructional videos of Chris Tomlin songs....thx a lot dude
