I was kind of jarred by this style of singing on Adore mainly in Annie Dog, but after a few more listens I thought the soft strained voice sounded like someone who just woke up and they're sleepy and their voice is scratchy and it made these songs even more beautiful because he wasn't just singing the lyrics he was evoking a moment through the style of singing. I don't know many artists who've played with singing style as much as The Smashing Pumpkins have. And I was a great fan of Adore.
@venus82 I always felt it probably came down to a choice between this and Annie Dog for inclusion on Adore - they're so similar in a number of ways. I think they made the right choice, though this is a lovely song.
I love this song. Music reminds me of blank page. The voice reminds me of early Pumpkins. The song is absolutely beautiful but I can see why Billy would have thought it was a b-side.
You're just really stupid to say that, do you know the Smashing Pumpkins ? Do you know them ?
They are unique, perhaps the only band with such beautiful songs nowadays, ok ?
If you think you're more clever than us you can go away and listen to nightwish, perhaps it will help you to feel better and smarter than us, but you're not. You can't judge things without listening to songs of artists without an objective opinion.
I just want to advise u to listen to their other songs, you'll change ur mind
you are right in saying that it probably didn't take too much time to make, considering it was a demo that was eventually released as b-side. I personally love it and invite you to look more into them.
I've been on a Pumpkins kick and have to say that it really takes me back... I miss the 90s...
@cucarach1 haven't you ever felt dull? i think art describes people and places and things in all their states, not just their super energetic states, but their sad states.
pure beautiful genius , you know its art when a piece of music can take u somwhere else . the nineties are the most underated musical years . i survived them because of pumpkins and pearl jam
something about this song strikes a chord in my being. i think the drummer is improvising. the music paints an image in my mind better than any photograph ive seen. simply beautiful. kid rock has like 28 million views on his shallow i want to have sex with you songs and this gets 4 thousand views, it makes me sad, true art gets almost no recognition. but at the same time if it had 28 million views i would probably rebel against its commericialism. ironic.
Thanks a million for posting this! i love this son & it wasnt on my version of Adore ( as I believe it is on the Japanese Import only!). I really appreciate it, so thanks! :)

Adore was a awsome album very haunting, and quiet. Reminds me of Mazzy star.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
please... how much time did these guys spend making this...? bet it's counted in seconds...
or maybe the guy just has a very limited voice, and a 2-octave keyboard?
This is the stereotype of dullness.
