great, now a clunk of metal moves better than I do. At first I thought this bot was doing some serious Lion forms from Baguazhang. This totally replaces guard dogs.
AWESOME! very smooth movement. Looks menacing. I would be afraid to have one, it might kill me in my sleep. I'd like to see a bigger one with better balance so it couldn't fall over if you pushed it.
This one uses an infra-red remote much like your T.V. Our other bot, "Rook's Pawn", uses bluetooth and is controlled via laptop, PDA, or even a cellphone.
Glad you guys liked it! You can find the Robonova-1 kit for about $900 - $950 USD most places anymore. You should check out some of our more recent videos!
Not a bad price for so much technology IMO! Although I wouldn't buy one until they become cheaper and more common place (I hate to be an early adopter)
It's still very cool that something this advanced is available to consumers. I would probably get bored with it after a few weeks/months though.
OK I need to know a few things. What form is this awesome robot practicing. Second, why isn't he 50' tall, armed with death beams, and under my command?
HAHA Matt, I was helping SWE with robotics lab today and had so much fun I was googling to look up more advance robots to buy...who do I find on the internet demoing...you! Hope post college life is treating ya good buddy.
Make a few of those moves a bit more efficient and you might have a Robo-One repertoire going.

Check out the "Rook's Pawn III Gyro Response Demo" video. He does exactly what you sugested... won't fall over when you push on him.

If it falls over, it can easily get back up pon its own;this is a main-feature of modern humanoid-robots, like the Robonova, from HiTec.

how do u control it

I saw a Robonova-1 at a convention today and the robot was controlled by a PlayStation 2 Wireless Controller...

those are cool. but definatley a wast of money for £720 you should get something good. i agree with Gangster240212
matty0305 4 years ago
what persons pays £720 for something like that. You could get a Meccano Spyke, Iphone and Powerizers all for the price of a dancing robot. WTF
Gangster240212 4 years ago
How were you able to make the robot perform those moves so quickly - did you preprogram those moves on a control system?
