This restaurant is about 10 miles from where I live...last time I was here the lady working barely spoke English. There are at least two dozen fast food places on Fremont, and pretty much all of them are manned exclusively by Mexicans.

If McD's is starting workers at $7, they should be grateful, since most are teens living with Mom and Dad. I've worked manufacturing jobs where younger workers and housewives were paid below the 2X minimum wage that I was guaranteed by law. Learn the labor laws, organize the labor, and make the employers pay fair wages, or you all walk.

Someone I knew was stopping to get an application for his daughter but couldn't find the English ones. This restaurant is about 10 miles from where I live...last time I was here the lady working barely spoke English. There are at least two dozen fast food places on Fremont, and pretty much all of them are manned exclusively by Mexicans.
Seaside has always been known as a dump and a gang neighborhood. It was mainly blacks in the 80s&90s, but in the last 10 years the Mexican population has spiked and now they are everywhere you look - riding beat up bikes or walking down the street, mainly.

Even here in Massachusetts we have had our share of hiring problems. Latino bosses who throw out anyone elses job application and only hired latinos. This was all over the news with Dunkin Dounuts. Now its since changed. With Micky D's I noticed their food and places go to waste. Horrible service and idiots who can't speak english well and get upset when you ask them what they just said. The bitch talked to fast and not into the mic while I was trying to give my order. Plus, she was talking to people inside. To me thats not right. And when I asked politely "Excuse me" she actually made a sign type noise as if I was taking her time. When I got to the window she didn't say hi and instead just stuck her arm out the window to take my money as if I was being punished or something. If thats how you like being treated thats all good. I dont like to be by anyone!

@youngron707, the Minimum wage is around $6 an hour, which is what fast food jobs usually start at. If McD's is starting workers at $7, they should be grateful, since most are teens living with Mom and Dad. I've worked manufacturing jobs where younger workers and housewives were paid below the 2X minimum wage that I was guaranteed by law. Learn the labor laws, organize the labor, and make the employers pay fair wages, or you all walk.

Who came up with the name of anchor babies? Anyone born here within the US is a citizen of this country and there isn't any thing you can do about that. The Wendy's on 368 Cottage Street in Pawtucket, RI has two applications, one in English the other in Spanish. Someone I knew was stopping to get an application for his daughter but couldn't find the English ones. He asked the manager and was told he had none but to have the daughter 'do the best she can' with the Spanish application.

I do not work in the foods industry, but I have been turned down for management positions because I dont speak spanish, which of course is needed if your are going to have 10,000 mexicans working for the company.
