What a great memory. My grade 9 teacher showed us this when the school got an unbelievably cool new machine called a VCR. LOL :) Haven't seen it for years, but somehow I can remember "life's a piece of shit when you look at it" like it was yesterday. Only 32 years ago :( When I read some of the comments, makes me wonder how our teacher got a hold of this.

I find it sad that people just fail to realize what this movie was doing. It was only banned in other areas because everyone thought it was making fun of churches and Christians, but no. This was poking fun at how in the old days, people were worse than today's extremists, even going so far as to kill anyone who had different beliefs. There was hardly any reference to Jesus in this, so no, this is not making fun of Jesus or Chrisianity as a whole.
