Update would be nice to be able to use songs from the iPod on the phone. I'm a vinyl dj but I'm open to new technology. Obviously this is not to replace real dj equipment but it would be a good back up. Airplane mode prevents incoming phone calls or text so no worries. And for those who said vinyl is the best and new technology is for lazy people you're just ignorant. Yes I love vinyl and will always use it, but to saying this is dumb is like saying I will never use a cell phone to make calls I

Looks nice, but can you use a professional microphone with it? Sometimes DJs use microphones to communicate with their audience.

Another thing worth mentioning is that you're using the iPhone/iPod touch audio chip, which isn't the best in the world. Add to that the fact that MP3 files suck in quality, and you've got an app that is cool to show to friends, but not something you'll want to replace your mixing gear with.

So I have an adapter. I beleive it's stereo. When I plug it in, On one speaker, I hear one song, the other speaker, I hear the other song I'm trying to mix, Same thing with headphones (one song side, one song the other). Even when I move the fader, still the same with variations. Any one know how to get the speakers to only play the two songs while the fader is in the middle? I heard maybe it has to be mono? Does this mean i would need another adapter? Any help is appriciated.

As far as sync and beatmatching... have you ever loaded an autechre track into traktor? Or other attempted beat-matching programs? Have you ever analyzed an audio track for peaks exceeding some threshold, calculated the lowest common denominator, and tried to extrapolate meter and phrasing from it? Not so easy, and not so reliable. I agree with xhumainterfacex all the way.

i spin dubstep and drum n bass and electro house.....for all u people that are complaining about the visual mixing.....your supposed to know how to beat match.....the visual is just a helping tool. the app does not need a synch button....that would put the app at a cheezy level. the split mixing is great.....apple sucks and the 1 gripe is not being about to use your itunes library. and a bpm counter would be nice with the visual mixing.

Yes, looks great toyo, i have been following this app for month's, waiting for the app team to get their heads out of their asses and pass it off so we could have it, one thing stopping me buying now is your lack of support for your hexatone app which i also waited ages for and purchased.

Bug fixes needed for that app for roughly the same amount of time you have been crying about how long its taken the app team to pass touch dj and you have done nothing.

Note to developer after two hours testing. This application won't break the chart until you can get a one button beatmatch function... Also there is a need for BPM counter. Visual mixing is not working well. Decent result only with L/R splitters and Old school beatmatching with the ears. I am a amateur House DJ. Message if you want more precise comments.

Yeah they could probably toss in that option - if I ever bought this it wouldn't be to use just the iPod - so oldschool beatmatching would be needed to mix it with other things anyways. I'm not sure what to say about this... if you want to get technical... look at my videos and I'll explain all the steps I can think of to encompass beat detection and syncing. It would break the charts if it had that and a X-beat crossfade to auto-mix.. still cheesy.. :) but would be cool!

question: wouldn't it make more sense to have the visual mixing pulled off of the transients of the highs? usually that's more accurate than using just the kick, which some producers bump forward or backward a bit to make it phase less.

I bought this app this morning and I can't believe they pulled this off for the iPhone. It works great. You CAN mix with headphones! There is a split option (1 track in 1 ear and the other track in another ear) which doesn not require a spitter. After beatmatching you can just "unsplit" and start mixing. The splitter you will need if you want to use the iPhone output to your speakers and still want to prelisten tracks on your headphones also(I guess that's how it works).

AGREE. Any computer dj app (Traktor, VirtualDJ etc) has visual beatmatching. Also, it DEFINITELY couldn't replace a $1000 set. No way... That money could easily get you a full startup DJ setup. And somehow I doubt zero latency...
