The sport has changed just like any other. That includes the equipment- What's more is the fact that sports these days have more prize money so the players don't have to work -> spending that time on training and so on. (even though some players such as lin dan are less then 21).

i think we cant compare them, but surely without the likes of king, there will be now current modern great badminton players like lin or taufik. basically King and other great old players lays great foundation for modern players and revolutionize the way badminton is played. Badminton is just getting interesting and 'fast'

Thanks for the uploads - the 1974 All England footage is fantastic, I've never seen Badminton from that long ago. I know the racquet technology was a little different back then to say the least, which makes the backcourt smashes all the more incredible... plus the Umpire telling the crowd to be quiet is great.
