dude, no need for excuses...I saw your version of "Mean Streets"... you've earned the right to mess up!! LOL... Great job man..keep it up, Eddie RULES!
hey dude, you're one of the best sounding ed players out there, top 2 or 3. is it me or, are some of the strokes off timing? ex., .26 .29 .32 .34 etc. all up strokes? is this some kind of trick ed did to throw people off?
thanks. I played this thing all wrong here. I believe you are right, he likes to do a lot of off timing stuff. I don't think he was trying to throw people off, I think he was just going for a certain feel. he is a master of rhythm.
@Ednerd either him or Angus Young are. I can halfway get the stuff Eddie does. But Angus is by far the hardest dude i've played. There is so much of an precedent on timing and the length of bends it's unfair
not bad.. you're capturing the feel of it better than the other posts i've been looking up. I love the fact that you stand when you play, too - i think that goes back to you understanding what this craps all about in the 1st place...
yeah this is an old one. bout time to redo it. I learned long ago to practice standing up. and actually, I think it helps you play with a little more feeling...anyways thanks
oh thank god..then there's hope for improvement for me! :) divorce left me feeling lonely, so i'm glad i have the guitar to help. it's funny..i always used to practice sitting down in the 80's, now that i'm getting old and stiff, i stand!??
LOL. you'll get it back even better. when I picked it back up again, I couldn't even remember aint talkin bout love. :) now I'm playing better than I ever did. I practiced for about a year with .10s to build up my finger strengh, then when I switched to .09s again it was so much easier.
awesome..really enjoying your vids! i've only posted a few one pass vh tunes, played with my brother who's a drummer, but i'd like to give this one a go, too. i've worked up about 75% of it. keep it up..really appreciate the work you and a couple others are doing here!
absolutely, already found 'em both! another i recommend is dougfcknsteele. after 18 years of not playing at all it's good to be back! my charvel model 1 outa storage is like a time capsule. my bro in my vids got me back so we could jam. as my chops and song memory return, i'll post more with you very excellent vh coverers. tabs and youtube would have been phenomenal back in the 80'! keep it up..i appreciate your accomplishments! like that you play standing like me, too! ;-)
thanks, yeah, I put my guitar down for 13 plus years and picked it back up about 3 years ago. I like to practice standing up, because it's harder and if your gonna play VH live, ya just can't sit on a stool. :)
Ay Ednerd, Nice work man, I don't think I've seen this one yet, I tried leaving a video responce , I hope you don't mind, if not don't post it, I wanted you opinion on my Version, I only worked on it for 4 days, I had some pitch problems, other than that I think it cam out ok... Thanks.... Craig
thanks littledreamer1201. I reposted this under the alias of VHguitarHack. I blew the solo (needs some more work), but at least I played the verses right. :)
haha, dude you did fantastic. one of the few that actually "play" the song, rather than hunting for notes if you know what i mean. i love edward, fun songs to play =]
I prefer the EVH Charvel necks and the strat style body. But as far as sound, sustain, action, ease of playing, the EVH Music Man wins in my book. If you play more than one guitar, it's just hard for me to bounce around between different style necks. Try going from playing a Bass Guitar to a regular guitar. I played only Bass for about a month then picked up my strat. It felt like a little toy. It's freaky.
I have a Strat and a Wolfgang. The Wolfgang is a nice guitar with the neck is a bit thick. I prefer the Strat. Im thinking about getting a Charvel Van Halen. I would like to get the new Fender Van Halen, but at $20,000 its a bit much.
cool. I have an EVH Music Man. It's a great guitar, the best sounding guitar I've ever played, but the neck is really small, so I hardly ever play it anymore. $20-$25K is way too much! you'd be better off building your own replica.
I like both of my EVH Charvels a lot. The necks are strat style, which I like. My other Charvel (Copperhead) has a Jackson style neck...thin. I don't like those thin Jackson necks. I can play em well, but I'm just more comfortable with the strat necks. My first guitar was a strat. That might have something to do with it.
I've got the EVH (red one) I like it because it has a script button, which kind of subdues the effect a little. For this tune it's all out phase. For his other songs I use the button to have less phase.
Whoever disliked this is a piece of shit....

proof that not all faggots on youtube suck
you are one of the only youtube covers that i haven't hated.

its ok, im a youtubefag too.
its just a fact that everyone on youtube is a fag, just like everyone on myspace is a teenage girl
komodomoe 4 years ago
for me playing on a thicker neck makes me better on the thin ones. After I play my 12 string acoustic, my Wolfgang is a breeze to play.
dalexb98 4 years ago
So you prefer the EVH Music Man?
I like thin necks, easy to play.
