  • It's perfect except for my absolute favorite part of the song, but I don't fault you for that, since I highly doubt the SNES can emulate the extremely high-octave guitar in the middle. So yeah, FUCKING EPIC remix brah.

  • I never played X8, but if music like this is in it, I'm sold. Also... She's stuck on my ela-elavator. - Florida

  • @Enclavefakesoldier X8 is AWESOME, brah. I despised X7 but X8 was a HUGE step back in the right direction.

  • awesome

  • Holy crap. This sounds really X3-ish!

  • Omg, EPIC!

  • Good times, remember when I was playing this level in PC. :D

  • Stil love the original more but great job!

  • FUCKING NICE !!!!!

  • why cant all elevators have this music?

  • WHAT THE F___, THIS IS AWESOME!!

  • @Overwa7ch Permission denied, at least for now. This arrangement was created especially for use in GameDragon's MMX Engine, which will be a public, open-source engine upon release, and will come with a demo level or two. Because the demo will be open-source, I'm sure anyone will then be free to use this arrangement of Jakob's Elevator in their creations.

  • @Overwa7ch As in add new, original parts to it? Or just make it loop more times? If the latter, you can pull that off with some simple audio-editing. Anyone could probably learn to do it.

  • Please, remix lumines second form ...

  • how has no one remix luminie's second form !!!???

  • I hope that Capcom realizes that Mega Man X was best suited for the Snes/pc with MIDI tracks and if they make a sequel make it 16bit with a MIDI rock soundtrack.

  • @Wakkajakka hahaha no

  • Anyone who whined that the X8 soundtrack wasn't "as good as the 16-bit games" should listen to this video. Seriously. This is beautifully executed and, as far as I can tell, stays true to the original tune AND the sound limitations and instruments of the 16-bit Rockman X games.

  • EXCELLENT WORK!!! Do you have Lumine's Final Form SNES style? (Before his Paradise Lost move, I mean)

  • I am going to hack my version of RMx8 and have that song in it XD

  • @drn000 If you pull it off, I'd love to see a video of that! Hahaha.

  • @SabreMage

Hacking Rockman X8 isnt hard XD and of course I would show it to you

  • @SabreMage In the PC version, its actually easy as hell

  • @SabreMage It would look like TMNT IV Reshelled with the snes music. It was awesome and looked better combining the old with the new.

  • @drn000 I think that if you'd make it the same length as the original, reformated it into .ogg file and named it the same, the game would propably take it, although I'm not sure, I think I'll give it a try. In case you're wondering, the ingame tracks (at least in PC version) are stored in ogg folder wherever you instaled the game.

  • @SuperLordosis

I know but I am tried to gett all the songs made in 16 bit XD

  • The world's greatest elevator music, now on the SNES.

  • @renabell2 'course! It's like that 'cuz IIIN SPAAAAAAAACE!!!

  • may we have an mp3 pls =]

  • VERY NICE!!!!!!! XD

  • 100 likes and no dislikes whatsoever. i guess this means the mavericks are no more

  • @bhenchman08 Sigma was so in awe that he decided disliking this would be total lie.

  • Better than the original.

  • Definitely sounds like it belongs in MegaMan X3.

  • Definitely has that SNES feel to it. The drums and bass remind me of Blast Hornet or Crush Crawfish's stages from X3.

Mega Man X9 needs to be in 16-bit, no doubt about it!

  • @GeneralChaos98 i actually think megaman x9 should be in 3D but still 2D like megaman x8 but the soundtrack should be in SNES form and in the new form except that you can choose which one to hear

  • @Andy989o You make a great point there. X8 has awesome visuals, and the 2D sidescrolling with 3D effects work well.

Mostly, Capcom just needs to end the original series and tie it into the X series. Then they need to do the same with the X series, and tie that into the Zero series. WIth Keiji Inafune gone from Capcom now, it would be great to end the original and X series on a high note, and we can all remember them fondly.

  • nice!!!

  • This proves that Capcom still has the classic Megaman music intact. this sounds so natural like it was meant to be played back in the SNES days

  • Wow this is amazing! Imagine what Lumine battle 2 would sound like if you did what you did here to that one. Ohhhh one can only wonder! :(

  • Eargasm.

  • Sorry for double post, but seriously

    This rules

  • Holy macrole.......

This is candy to my ears.........

If only the rating bar had OVAR 9000 on it....

  • My God, this is amazing.

    Automatically subscribed.

  • It gets a bit noise-heavy at times when all the instruments are playing at once, but when it works it works really well.

  • This sounds like Megaman X2's music tracks mood, yet it also reminds me of when Zero went to rescue X in X3's intro stage. Very neatly pulled off! :)

  • There needs to be a medley of this song and Castlevania's "Don't Wait Until Night".

  • It would be really awesome if someone managed to convert Megaman X8 into an SNES-style game.

  • an awesome version of a awesome song ^^

  • EPPIIIICCCCCCCCCC !!!!! 5 ***** !!!!

  • Awesome.

  • better than the original

  • wow love this music

  • Almost as good as the original! :D Mabye even bettah!

  • THIS IS DELICIOUS

  • @Perfectedidiot21 "YES! YES!"

  • See if you can SNES-ify the Lumine's themes. Specifically, the first battle, the dialogue-theme after the first battle, the final battle, and the final attack.

  • This is one solid redo! Totally believable for the SNES. Great job!

  • It sounds too clear to be true. ...the drums and instruments sound like they're from SNES but sound almost like the original. I had a hard time telling it wasn't the original. Maybe I got confused because the tune itself and not the melody doesn't have the SNES feel to it. Then again, MMX music changed so radically after MegaMan X6. You did a great job though.

  • @megamanxz1 Thanks haha. Yeah it's true, the instrument clarity is higher than the SNES would produce, only because the samples I used are direct rips from the game's memory. When the game itself uses those samples, it adds its own set of effects to them, from varying forms of reverb to chorus to vibrato, and also some inadvertent "effects" that cause the samples to be rendered with less clarity than they have as stored in memory, if that makes any sense. If this could be converted to SPC form..

  • @SabreMage Then it could be played back with the same sort of more "muddied" levels of sample/instrument clarity that sounds more like it's playing on the SNES.

Interestingly, it's possible to extract the original MMX1-3 OSTs from their SNES roms as tracker files, which can then be played back with the clarity of the original samples. It sounds really good, and quite different from how it sounds in-game!

  • @SabreMage

Hmm... in this case I wonder if the song might actually have "felt" better if it had more reverb.

  • Which is not to say it feels bad in the first place, it's very natural-sounding, much more so than other SNESified tracks here on youtube.

  • @SabreMage This version is fine. My ears sincerely enjoyed every second of it. ((^_^))

  • It's very well done. As far as SNES goes, it sounds too complicated for it to handle this tune without a special chip.

  • @megamanxz1 Hm, I'm not extremely well-informed about the limitations of SNES hardware, but I'm fairly sure I didn't exceed the "instrument/voice" limit at any point in this song. What about it convinces you so?

  • @SabreMage Hey, nice song (with good memories together xD). But now i noticed a good thing: probably, Jakob Elevator is a joke with a Rush's song, Jacob's Ladder. LOL

  • nice track hope to see more megaman x tracks like this

  • This really is excellent work man. Think you can do more in this same style? :D

  • You need to do Bamboo Pandamonium "CYCLOPS" Ride Armor.

  • What happened to Dave WIXX's comment?? I swear, there were two so I deleted one , and now they're both gone. What's up with that, YT? x_X

  • @SabreMage I was wondering the same thing. I say the new set up encountered a glitch and posted my comment twice.

  • @MarkWIXX Good Lord, and forgive me for forgetting your username. x_X;

  • Oh Man! I'd LOVE to See Megaman X 8 Snes Style xD

  • @HyperKenny1991 Yeah haha I've been thinking about that since I finished this. Would be interesting, especially to capture the few 3D elements in 2D. Avalanche Yeti's ride chaser stage in 2D would be really interesing, since there was only one throughout all of MMX 1-3.

  • @SabreMage If Anything I think It would be Changes around COMPLETELY I would think that the Avalanche Yeti and the Gigabolt stages would Revert mainly back to Platforming. Just a hunch, It's prefer it that way too xD

  • Very epic. I like a lot!

  • wow, one can tell a lot of time and dedication went into making this :D perfect

  • @daveeeey Indeed, thanks =D about twelve hours worth of transcription work here. ^^
