Are your little plastic panels with the door locks and power windows popping out of the door? Mine are and I've heard thats a problem with most of the 94's
Mustang Jesus is just jealous his mustang will never sound this good :P
I gotta ask what do people do during traffic when you just sit next to them. I didn't put any cams in just yet. I wanna make the conversion to an ls1, so it won't cost 1500$ to get a tune up.
Idle was set at 750RPM and yes the car also had stock unported heads. No problem at all using stock heads but you have to rev the shit out of the car to keep the power right where it needs to be for track use. This car had lots of weight reduction so it never had a problem getting off the line, I'd expect a heavier car to feel sluggish with stock gears and through an automatic it'd be more pronounced.
moraracing- I used to come on here looking for good vids too lol.
fourwheeljock- Yes you can swap front ends, its actually rather easy. My bro just did a complete front end swap and hugger orange paint on his 95 Z28. if you want pics send me a message.
@NastyCamd93 can you please send me pics as well. i'm painting my 1995 ss clone within the next month, and i thought about hugger orange. gonna keep it black though
@fourwheelerjock were theres a will theres a way if you wana have the bubble headlites only pain would be changin the wires to go with the newer lites but no biggie
man i can't wait to black out my taillights. i'm thinking of going with the cc306. is it still driveable the specs aren't too aggresive. gorgeous car i love my black lt
Its a cc306 230/242 .540" lift 112LSA (i think those were the specs) which can be purchased through summit or Jegs for under $300. Its a good cam but expect to spin the motor to 6800RPM for some good track times.
That little dog was my faithful companion for years, he just went missing all of a sudden last year :( I have a pic somewhere with him driving the Camaro lmao!!!!
The SS spoiler is off a 98+ Camaro and shouldn't be too expensive if you can find one.
It's a 6-speed with a McCleod clutch and OEM replacement pressure plate that grabs hard, after 1 good launch from 4500RPM I broke the torque arm in half. That attests to its quality but just shows how crappy the stock parts are lol.
I'm looking to change some things around on the outside of my 96 Z28, particularly the hood and truck/spoiler. Where did you get those parts? How expensive?
Hey Guys, this is a Awsome Black Bitch of a Camaro, sounds great looks great, Actcualy I'm building my 93 Camaro to clone his setup. I freaking love this car. BUT I would leave only one thing out of the Video, that damm little dog well it must be the guy wife's dog... Still awsome Camaro Z-28, Chevy Rocks
i have a 94 v6 camaro and i want to get a northstar v8 for it, either 1 from a 98 deville or a 2001 seville. could i still use the v6 transmission? and wut computers do i need and how long of a drive shaft? basically im asken wut do i need so i can put that northstar in my camaro
Nice Job Man! I am Doing Custom Work On My Son's 94 Z28. If You Don't Mind, Where Can I Find The Blacked Out Tail-light Covers? We Have Been Lookin' Everywhere! How Much Were They? Thanks, The WoodWerker.
I used a stock single row timing gear with a new GM replacement timing chain because the stock ones are usually very streched. It's not too expensive to replace but just gives me peace of mind that the timing gear won't jump because of a stretched chain.
The cc306 cam drives fairly well on the street through a 6-speed/4.10's. In an automatic with a stall it really isn't much different; its all up to you though.
This thing is a beast on the street, add a little nitrous and it should be hard to catch. The 4.10's really keeps the car in its power band. Thanks for the comments guys!
This car sounds healthy! I had a '94 Z28 auto with a 3500 stall. Lt4 hot cam and Lingenfelter lt4 heads, with all bolt on's immaginable. It turned consistent 12.7's at 120ish mph. I'm looking to get another, but maybe ls1 this time. How do you like the cc306? I dig the ss wing. It looks clean.
Can your stock rear hold up to that power? I am going to be running that setup on my automatic for awhile. Should I be worried about my powertrain breaking if I don't take it to the drag strip that much. I will drive it normal on the streets; or I will TRY to atleast.
I made a few passes at the track dumping the clutch at 4200RPM. It cut a 1.71 60ft en route to a 12.5@114mph but the car had some ignition issues up top. If your on street tires dont worry, you'll never hook LOL!!!!
LOL. You're right. The tires I have now are some of the best but you're right they will prob not hook. These general exclaims are amazing. They were 100 each and they are ranked 4th in summer performance (I live in FL) so i dont have to worry about snow. But they don't peel out at all when I floor my car. I am running high 13s on 2.73 gears with the parts I have now.
My wheels are 17x9.5 all the way around. Yes my tint is illegal and the cam seems to make power from about 3K-6300rpm.
My car weighs 3100lbs so its pretty damn light which helps make the car faster. A full weight F-body will fell kinda dead in the lower RPM's but definately pull up top.
What kinda rear you got ? because i always feel mad torque in the lower RPMs and then yea it does pull pretty good up top lol All around nice motor I like setup you go going will be doing some work my self here soon
My car has the idle set at 650-700rpm with the old tune. The updated one idles very well at 750rpm.
I've seen guys put down good #'s with either Lloyd Elliot or Advanced Induction heads. Don't limit yourself though, there are plenty of good heads done by others.
The car went 12.7@114mph on street tires with a blown clutch so I know its making lots of power. Once I get some bugs worked out, it should go 11's NA.
so your idle is set to 700 in this video? I'm going to be running 3" true dual straight pipe when I get my car wednesday and am going to set my idle to 900 until I can afford mufflers. Think some of the lope will calm down at 900?
My idle here was around 675rpm with the car warmed up. It would be a good idea to raise the idle to get rid of some lope but its gonna sound rediculously loud with the true dual setup. Id recommend going with a 2.5" x-pipe setup without mufflers as its way quieter than what your planning. I ran it like that in my old TransAm and it was quiet around town till you went WOT! I got a vid on here somewhere that I can send you a link to if youd like.
the reason I'm running no mufflers is a money issue. If I had money right now I'd run the duals out the back with a xr-1 on each pipe right next to the fuel tank. Soon I hope. But till then, lol, its going to have turn downs straight out of the collectors from the LTs. I like it loud, but that shit is going to be CRAZY.
Thats sick love the sound. Was wondering what all you have to do to install a CC306 into a LT1. I have same year 1994 M6 Z28 with CAI, Pacesetter LTs, ORY, 4.10s. What would I have to do to install that cam? New fuel pump?
All you need is the cam/springs and tuning. A better fuel pump and larger injectors would be a great addition but not necessary. I just got mine retuned for the 30lb injectors and the car pull hard up top now. I should have some track #'s soon, hoping for high 11's@116mph granted I can cut a good 60ft.
i was thinking about runnin the same cam or the CC 467 XFI. im running a stock bottom end right now. i might be building the bottom end tho cuz i wanna run a 150 shot
you will be able to get more power out of it with the upgraded injectors. for what its worth throw in some 1.6 roller rockers and some strong, light, pushrods. if i had to do it all over again, i might try that AFR hydra-rev kit as well.
Nice car man, love the idle sound, I can't wait to get mine out, we're just finishing things up, CC306, stage 2 heads with 1.6RR's, Race LT's to ORY dumped, CAI, 3200 stall, 3.73's... spring here we come!!!
