Unless you have a speech or interview with a rebel commander pledging to become a new King of Libya that was a very flippant statement to make. Also your statement on who has majority support is absurd, where did you get that information in a warzone where settlements change hands? and did you forget about the Libyan military? the modern army versus groups with kalashnikovs and pick up trucks? No war has ever been won by air power alone, so don't go blaming NATO the conflict had already begun.
@CommissarRed Thank you for the poignant points. In fact, your comments comment this video in the most adequate fashion. We did not produce this video. We in no way endorse the personal views of the maker of this video. But the maker of the video did go the extra mile in compiling excerpts of what seems a genuine scholarly effort to at least DESCRIBE the system Libya has had for 40 years. Our mainstream media - so far - shows ZERO of its reality ... or fallacy. We need to at least know!!!
@TranscendMedia I actually agree that the documentary on Jamihiriya was an interesting video (do you know what that video was called and if it can be found in its entirety on-line?) My criticism where directed at the ridiculous and uncensored commentary at the end the many factual errors and simplistic and misleading conclusions where very annoying it read like a Propaganda piece from a WRP branch. Sorry that my comments where misdirected.
I also find your commentary after the documentary to be pretty contradictory and insulting. First you base much of your argument on an unsourced number of Libyans, you then go on to dismiss the views of another group of Libyans out of hand. Oh and the flag yeah its the flag from before Gaddafi launched his coup, thats the message they oppose Gaddaffi, why oppose a minor figurehead? notice how there were no overtly monarchist symbols on it like crowns and sceptres?
It seems absurd to think the masses all 4 million of them wouldn't be able to find someone more capable to represent them as Gadaffi succumbed to age, or a rift develop between him and the Masses. Its all right saying he's just the figure head but like it or not foreign leaders regarded him as the head of state and the policies toward Libya reflected this fact. In the Green Book the contradiction between the congresses and the rule of the Masses and Gaddafi himself becomes more clear.
Of course there is a darker explanation for why Gaddafi has found the Jamahirirya so appealing. As an army Officer installed by Coup he could neither receive legitimacy through links to the royal family nor by winning republican elections. Also since there were no representatives in the Congresses it prevented rival power bases from forming against his regime. Ask yourself this if the people lead themselves then what right had Gaddafi to represent Libya internationally?

The propaganda being used against Ghaddafi, Libya and its people is obscene, we need to remember who the real heroes are.
