BRAVO!! These 2 men make Nixon & Kissenger look like saints. And yet NOTHING is done.
And why? My Bet is because Madame Speaker has a skeleton or two in her closet and is scared Witless that Bush\Cheney\Rove etc will unearth said skeletons as payback if she pushes to hard. She's spineless.
Righteous. Well said, well spoken, well, what more can be said. Except that Conyers knows he will also be found complicit in the crimes & the cover-up. Only reason I can deduce of the reticence to impeach.
Why waste tax dollars when their term ends in a few months?

I never got to speak with a single rep. but I told them all to pass my comment on.
We all must call- everyday. We have responisibilies, as citizens, in a democracy. We all are responsible for our leaders actions and we must stand up. If we do not try to stop these activities no one will. We are all responsible and we must all act!
how people eating MacDonalds and using big cars, Iphones and all these bullshits are supposed to make anything right? its not a brain they have, its a TV.
I can tell you one thing. Theres really no honor in fighting an illegal war. Just makes you look like a villian. Reguardless of what you think your doing is right or not.
Brilliant commentary, John. I've heard all of these arguments myself ("it's too late" or "we Democrats will just lose the election"). Stunning, really.
My elderly mother says we shouldn't impeach Bush/Cheney because it will just start a cycle of political "revenge" that will drag on and on.
As if that is somehow worse than allowing lying, torturing, and murdering to be seen as acceptable by the next administration.
As if possible political fallout were worse than the death of democracy.
Thanks alphasimian. Stunning to say the least. So many have no clue what's at stake. They just want to be left alone with their creature comforts, not to be bothered by any uncomfortable reality. They've forgotten that WE THE PEOPLE are the leaders - the ones in Washington work for US. Citizenship in a free country comes with the ever-present responsibility to be vigilant about maintaining the integrity and accountability of our system of government. It's not ALL about politics. WAKE UP PEOPLE!
Isn't it obvious, John? Your beloved party of cowards has just as much accountability to these so called "impeachable offenses" as the current executive admin. They won't move on this because they all know it.
Kucinich, the poor soul, is just grandstanding, throwing a fit because he didn't get the nomination.
So go ahead, pull your head out of your ass and don that tin foil hat.
My "beloved party"? Looks like you need to pay closer attention, panetrain. I am not a democrat. Never have been, never will be. My channel description has made this clear since the day I put it up more than a year ago. You will not get an argument from me about the complicity of Dems in Washington. Leadership for sure, and most of their subordinates. Kucinich is not grandstanding. He's honoring his oath. Something you're clearly unfamiliar with. Good luck in your search for a clue.
I apologize for associating you with the Dems. I did not do my homework!
Funny you mention the word "oath." I honored my oath to this great nation by serving in her armed forces. I did my part in this new war. I served with honor. Tell me, John, what did you do in our country's hour of need?
I would like to know who you plan to vote for this November.
I'm doing it every day. Trying to energize people to stand up and honor their responsibility as citizens of this country by demanding accountability from and for our elected officials. Especailly the ones who lied us into the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq and continue to lie every day that it continues. Glad you made it back. Too many haven't. Don't know who I'll vote for. But I can say without a doubt that it WILL NOT be McCain OR Obama.
Excellent points, John, all of them. I read what Pelosi said about why impeachment was "off the table." Not that I grasped it, mind you. It was a grand obfuscation most likely, and I am not certain where to go from there. No doubt you have some ideas.
Excellent points, John, really well done. I've read what Pelosi SAID about why impeachment was "off the table." Not that I grasped her point, mind you.
Ooh John, my apologies for messing up your page. I need to stay off the web 'til I shake this flu/strep thing ... methinks it leeches into my brain and impedes effective thinking/action. Sorry.
They can't impeach because congress is complicit in the Administrations crimes. Seems to me that Americans don't want to fight for what they believe in - they would rather change what the believe in.

The truth is that being a responsible citizen means making the effort on a regular basis. That doesn't mean spending hours online every day digging up dirt. It just means balancing your time like you balance your checkbook, and placing priority where it belongs. Hope that helps. Thanks for the question...
Yes, convincing Conyers to impeach is the key. He's been through many impeachment hearings and he knows that Bush has committed these impeachable offenses. It's maddening that this administration just keeps on with 'business as usual'. Amazing still is how the people of this country just get up and go to work when their government is committing these crimes against humanity.
Thanks Ella. Maddening to say the least. But we don't have a choice. I think it's okay to take a breather every once in a while to regroup (I've done it a couple of times), but ultimately we must keep making noise. If we stop, then there is absolutely NO chance of people getting the message and waking up.
Bush and Cheney have refused to turn over any evidence citing national security reasons. No reason to believe they would not continue to do that during impeachment. It took a year for the supreme court to decide Nixon had to turn over his tapes so it is reasonable to assume that it would take that long for a supreme court decision about matters that concern national security. It is too late but it should be done on moral and constitutional grounds.
Bush and Cheney don't need to turn over anything to be impeached. There is already a mountain of impeachable evidence that's been documented and cannot be denied. Bush's public confession about illegal warrantless wiretapping for one. Then there's his very recent public confession about signing off on the high level White House meetings where the torture program was discussed and even choreographed. It's NOT too late. Bush AND Cheney can be impeached in a single day.
John Conyers is not "lying", he's made it perfectly clear that he is very concerned w/ impeachment being detrimental to an election that would stop the Neocons in their tracks. This is counter-productive to villify a good man who has generated the "Constitution in Crisis" document. He is thinking this through carefully and judiciously , calling him a "liar" will not convince him to do what we want. We must make a more convincing positive & persuasive presentation to the Chairman instead.
Lying is the charge, Yank. I stand by it. I didn't make up the history. I recited it. And it proves that Conyers' "worries" of impeachment being harmful to dems are entirely unfounded. Failing to hold Bushco accountable will hardly "stop the neocons in their tracks." In fact, it gives them carte blanche to carry on unimpeded. CONYERS made the best argument when he wrote the book! His failure to act on the evidence is unacceptable. Until he does, he deserves every ounce of vilification he gets.
jperryam Conyers gave birth to the concept of impeaching Bush, with his "Constitution in Crisis". He does not have the votes. When he went after Nixon he DID have the votes, that is why Nixon resigned. You cannot crucify Conyers because we do not have enough votes ! By your concept of "lying", WE are spineless liars and traitors for not working harder to get our Congresspeople to sign Wexler's Petition to give to Conyers to convince him that we have the votes.
It is not possible to know whether you have the votes until the evidence is presented and a vote is taken. Does a criminal prosecutor know if the votes are there for conviction before the evidence is presented at trial? And if he's not sure of conviction, even though he may have overwhelming evidence against the accused (like there is against Bushco), does he refuse to try? No. He presents the evidence and does his best. Conyers prefers to not even try. He is failing himself and the people.
jperryam As a matter of fact , YES, Wexler's Petition shows EXACTLY how many in Congress & Judiciary Committee support impeachment. Also, criminal prosecutors DO make judgement calls all the time about whether or not to indict, and if they do, they make plea bargains or go to jury trial or not based NOT just on the evidence, but based on the jury they selected as well . You may not like Chairman Conyers judgement/strategy, but what can YOU do to help give him the tools he needs to impeach?
How exactly does Mr. Conyers know that a sufficient majority of those who say now that they oppose impeachment wouldn't change their minds after being presented with the overwhelming evidence against the Bush administration in an actual, on the record, impeachment investigation? The fact is he doesn't know, Yank. Neither do you, and neither does anybody else. He has all the tools he needs. He's not using them. Every day that goes by without action by Mr. Conyers means more blood on his hands.
The evildoers are the PNAC NEOCONS. Villifying Conyers is a counter-productive distraction and will not convince John Conyers to impeach anybody, let alone Bush and Cheney.
I will not hesitate to vilify anybody who swears an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States and then refuses to honor that oath. John Conyers and the current Congress are the living embodiment of counter-productive distraction. They contnue to make ridiculous arguments (that you continue to faithfully parrot) for failing to do their job while our country burns. There is not enough shame to go around for these people. We MUST have accountability NOW.
jperryam I parrot facts Chairman Conyers is facing. How does he impeach w/o votes? Who does he impeach 1st, or does he impeach them concurrently? If he loses an impeachment, which is likely since he does NOT have the votes, what will happen to the Oval Office in November? You villify Conyers for weighing ALL of the facts. Conyers has the authority, but no power. Why not channel our energies to drum up more votes for impeachment so Chairman Conyers WILL have the power behind his authority?
The entire "votes aren't there" argument is baseless. The need for impeachment proceedings is not predicated on whether Conyers or anybody else in Congress thinks the votes will be there. It's predicated on the existence of evidence of crimes against our Constitution (of which there is a mountain against the Bush administration), and the oath Congress swears to uphold that sacred document. That's it. Conyers is ignoring his job in favor of partisan political strategy. He's failing us miserably.
John, Chairman John Conyers is the GODFATHER of Bush Impeachment. This constant visceral villification of Conyers is NOT "truth" and is AGAINST impeachment and is HARMFUL to the judiciary process and is NOT helpful at all! John Conyers is just a man in Congress, not our savior. Why don't we HELP instead, by HELPING him get the tools and the votes he needs, something positive FOR impeachment & the judiciary process?
Look, Yank. I'm not going to keep going around in circles with you. You're wrong. So is John Conyers. He has a job to do. He has all the tools he needs. He is refusing to use them, because he thinks that even attempting to honor his oath of office will be harmful to his party. He's playing ignorant politics while innocent people and our Republic are dying. There is just no acceptable excuse for his inaction. Period. I WILL vilify him until he does his job. He deserves every ounce of it.
There are misdeeds done by both sides will become revealed if impeachment occurs. The two crime families, dems and repubs, have something on each other and that, along with the threat of attacking Iran possibly, are what is stopping impeachment.
Impeachment? Haven't you all heard about senate Bill 1959? They can now arrest you for protesting against the war or protesting against the president. They can strip you of your citizenship, tortue you, hold you without access to legal representation and more. These assholes are preparing for suspension of congress and and the constitution. Martial law is coming. They already have Blackwater stormtroopers fully trained and ready to come for you and me.
Actually, that bill has yet to be voted on or even scheduled for debate in the Senate (it was introduced on 8/2/07). This is why it's EXTREMELY important for people to be contacting their senators to DEMAND that they VOTE NO ON SENATE BILL 1959. The House version of the bill (HR 1955) has passed, but no bill is law until passed by both houses of Congress and signed by the president. See my YouTube video called "Stop Another Bogus Bush Law" for details on the senate version of the bill.
Hey Hey!! If we let this administration can get away with all this, there's no telling what future danger we will be putting ourselves in since the message will be..." We can do whatever the f#$@ we want and people will do sh#!about it . May as well start writing the epitaph of freedom, free choice and liberties in this country. We are becoming the modern day peasantry of the Dark Ages-ignorant and controlled.
" No future for YOU!"-aptly put by the Sex Pistols
I read somewhere that the rumor on Capitol Hill is that Bush let it be known that if the Dems tried to Impeach him, he'd declare Marshall Law. He's given himself a whole shitload of new powers while we've been watching Survivor; establishment of a serious of internment camps across the USA, the power to declare anyone who 'interferes' with his policy in Iraq as 'giving aid & comfort to the enemy' & sieze bank accounts, arrest, etc; the power to take over all levels of gov't from fed to local...
It may seem overly simple, but here's what everybody needs to remember: THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES HAS NOT CHANGED. The president CANNOT LEGALLY "give himself a whole shitload of new powers" with unconstitutional executive orders or signing statements, nor can Congress LEGALLY pass legislation that is unconstitutional. They are ALL legally bound by their oath to honor the Constitution AS IS, not as George wants it to be. His newly created "power" is all perception and no substance.
In other words, it's completely worthless. Why do you think he's spent the last seven years loading up the legal system with a bunch of neocon hack judges and lawyers? It's because his self-bestowed "powers" would NEVER STAND A CHANCE in a legitimate court of law. From Article VI of the Constitution: "This Constitution, AND the Laws of the United States which shall be made IN PURSUANCE thereof; and all Treaties made... SHALL BE the SUPREME LAW OF THE LAND."
More importantly, perhaps, if only more of the PEOPLE had a clue. It's going to take a LOT more of them to wake up and force this Congress to get it right. READ THE CONSTITUTION PEOPLE! It's all there!
(Google "National Archives Constitution")
The only real power the Bush administration has is that with which they have criminally manipulated the hearts and minds of Americans into a constant state of needless fear. They are perpetrating one of the biggest frauds in the history of mankind.
excellent vid. there has NEVER been more reason to IMPEACH than with the bushitler/cheney regime. if they are not impeached, we will never get our country back on track. they are despicable, lying, murdering monsters who MUST be held accountable for their many, many crimes against the usa and the world. nothing will ever be right until this is done. nothing.
thanks for a great vid. WE CANNOT IGNORE THIS ANYMORE!! speak truth to power and the lying media!!
It seems that 99 percent of the Democrats today (except for Dennis Kucinich) are nothing but spineless, acquiescent, capitulating assholes. There are so many crimes this "administration" has committed, yet the dummycrats look the other way! Why is that? They do nothing more than roll over for SHRUB on his command. I used to be a registered Democrat, and became a Republican so that I could vote for Ron Paul. I'm tired of the Democratic Party's BOOLSHEET!
Good job man. People have got to stop being manipulated. Bush will be indited for war crimes, much worse than impeachment. Bush should impeach himself, because if he's not, war crimes will mean the end of his reign of terror permanently.
IT is a mystery why they fear impeachment of these two...If the Country makes it through this Administration...If nothing more than the history books to note. someone cared and someone tried to stop them.....But peoples fear to even mention the word impeach tells me it maybe far to late.
Umm....democrats and republicans are the same thing. Ahh....yeah. Nothing bad happens to any of these people. Nothing. So....on the game goes. I cannot even believe this man will not address this. Been that way all along.
Right on, mm. It's clear to those paying attention that there's really no difference. But millions of people, unfortunately, still think there is. This video is a challenge to them, to get off their complacent asses and live up to their responsibility as citizens by waking up demanding accountability.
It's also a challenge to transparent presidential candidates who can talk a great game, but are clearly not serious about bringing real change. They need to GET serious or get out of the way.
jp, you have two pm's concerning~ "In two weeks the Judiciary Committee will be holding hearings to investigate the fact that the highest levels of the Bush Administration sanctioned and ordered the torture of prisoners in United States custody. This is intolerable and we must vigorously oppose this policy that demeans our nation and offends our conscience.
Please read the below transcript of my exchange with Mr. Muller."
I wrote to John Conyers in December of 2006, not long after Nancy Pelosi made her "off the table" vow/directive. He had bowed to her decision, which was the very Opposite of an integral reason they were brought back as the new Majority. I reminded him of "Constitution in Crisis," and all of his Impeachment overtones/promises. Then, I let him know that they had let ALL of us down - while gambling everything for Nov. 2008. Of course, there was no response.
In relation to Obama, I have no doubt that he is the one for November. However, I agree that he should be more forceful, direct, and clear regarding the offenses of this "coup."
Hello again WindHarps. My 2 cents worth, all 3 candidates are just as bad as the other. AfriKan Muslim Obama, Hellary, WarmongerMcCain! We are indeed doomed!
What's even worse, is if Bush/Cheney are not held responsible, that paves the way for even more fascism (and do what ever they want) with future ones. Indeed it's sickening, but hope they can still be held accountable even after their term expires. Because if it looks, smells, and tastes like a rat, it's probably so. Keep up the great work jp!

John Conyers and the current Congress are the living embodiment of counter-productive distraction. They contnue to make ridiculous arguments (that you continue to faithfully parrot) for failing to do their job while our country burns. There is not enough shame to go around for these people. We MUST have accountability NOW.
jperryam 3 years ago
jperryam I parrot facts Chairman Conyers is facing.
Yankhadenough 3 years ago
The entire "votes aren't there" argument is baseless. The need for impeachment proceedings is not predicated on whether Conyers or anybody else in Congress thinks the votes will be there. It's predicated on the existence of evidence of crimes against our Constitution (of which there is a mountain against the Bush administration), and the oath Congress swears to uphold that sacred document. That's it. Conyers is ignoring his job in favor of partisan political strategy. He's failing us miserably.
jperryam 3 years ago
John, Chairman John Conyers is the GODFATHER of Bush Impeachment. This constant visceral villification of Conyers is NOT "truth" and is AGAINST impeachment and is HARMFUL to the judiciary process and is NOT helpful at all! John Conyers is just a man in Congress, not our savior. Why don't we HELP instead, by HELPING him get the tools and the votes he needs, something positive FOR impeachment & the judiciary process?
Yankhadenough 3 years ago

ResearchX 3 years ago

FattKidd: You're correct, I fear it's more than a rumor.
DABIGRAGU1 3 years ago
It may seem overly simple, but here's what everybody needs to remember: THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES HAS NOT CHANGED. The president CANNOT LEGALLY "give himself a whole shitload of new powers" with unconstitutional executive orders or signing statements, nor can Congress LEGALLY pass legislation that is unconstitutional. They are ALL legally bound by their oath to honor the Constitution AS IS, not as George wants it to be. His newly created "power" is all perception and no substance.
jperryam 3 years ago
In other words, it's completely worthless. Why do you think he's spent the last seven years loading up the legal system with a bunch of neocon hack judges and lawyers? It's because his self-bestowed "powers" would NEVER STAND A CHANCE in a legitimate court of law. From Article VI of the Constitution: "This Constitution, AND the Laws of the United States which shall be made IN PURSUANCE thereof; and all Treaties made... SHALL BE the SUPREME LAW OF THE LAND."
If only our Congress had a clue.
jperryam 3 years ago

Thanks again for your awesome vids JP!

Good job man. People have got to stop being manipulated. Bush will be indited for war crimes, much worse than impeachment. Bush should impeach himself, because if he's not, war crimes will mean the end of his reign of terror permanently.

IT is a mystery why they fear impeachment of these two...If the Country makes it through this Administration...If nothing more than the history books to note. someone cared and someone tried to stop them.....But peoples fear to even mention the word impeach tells me it maybe far to late.

morknmindl 3 years ago

WindHarps 3 years ago
In relation to Obama, I have no doubt that he is the one for November. However, I agree that he should be more forceful, direct, and clear regarding the offenses of this "coup."
WindHarps 3 years ago
Hello again WindHarps. My 2 cents worth, all 3 candidates are just as bad as the other. AfriKan Muslim Obama, Hellary, WarmongerMcCain! We are indeed doomed!
Waspnests 3 years ago
What's even worse, is if Bush/Cheney are not held responsible, that paves the way for even more fascism (and do what ever they want) with future ones. Indeed it's sickening, but hope they can still be held accountable even after their term expires. Because if it looks, smells, and tastes like a rat, it's probably so. Keep up the great work jp!
