Its kind of strange to hear him talking up the "versatility" of what's basically just a steel-string dreadnought acoustic. Of course you can play classical, rock, country, whatever, on any guitar. At the end of the day, its still the same basic idea. Sure, certain styles of music sound better with certain types of guitars, but different styles of music come down to technique.
Well everyone...whether or not he actually played with Andres Segovia is irrelevent. Segovia is dead and there is no way to prove it. So on that he may or may not be a fraud..but no one can deny..you can either play a fucking guitar or you can't. You absolutely cannot fake playing an acoustic guitar. Another thing just like this guy said in the video response. You get what you pay for. If you wanna play guitar, you SHOULD plan on spending between $300 - $500. That price could get you a really good laminate beginner guitar - and there is nothing wrong with that - started that way myself. I had a Mitchell( Miserable to play/high action) and than a Korean mad Fender (had for 4 years) loved it. Than I got an EXPENSIVE Taylor GS5E. Pricey but its addicting to play. I play it every day.
No! Esteban is a GOOD guitar player but he is NO Andy Mckee, Justin King, or Kaki King. These people I mentioned write their own music and are not famous for playing classical hits like esteban.Another thing. He is a better SALESMAN than guitar player. The reason they're so cheap is because its made in China and because Esteban could care less about making real instruments, there is NO QUALITY CONTROL. im an amateur serious guitarist. recently started learning classical at a university. im no hater trust me, i can see the beauty in bad playing as long as the musician is modest and humble. But Esteban, the more i see him, here his BS/lies, it really brings anger to my heart.
i've been playing about 8 year and my advice to any beginner, dont buy a guitar without playing it and feeling it. and you CAN NOT learn classical on a steel string. their differences are for a reason(s).

ive got this exact guitar, came with a warped neck, inlays have fallen out and the pickguard fell off, but after 5 years of beating it, the damn thing stays in tune and has a killer sound!

My brother was given this exact guitar a few years back. lol, it is NOTHING like this. I've played guitar for about 10 years, and no matter what we did I could not get this guitar to sound right. It never stayed in tune, and had problems with intonation and buzzing. I've played tons of guitars and this was without a doubt the worst I have ever played.

i bought the Esteban turquoise on black guitar package 2 1/2 years ago,i am totally 100 % satisfied with the guitar.i still play the guitar every day,i have other more expensive guitars now and the esteban guitar is just good as any of the others i have.after i learned how to adjust the truss rod the guitar was much much easier to play.

Why does the other guy in this infomercial pronounce "Esteban"'s name closer to correct than "Esteban" himself does on the homepage of his current website? Had Segovia actually called him "Esteban" he would have pronounced it correctly and "Esteban" should know better. Emphasis should be on the second E, not the first, "Estéban".

Then he signed one of his books and said something encouraging along with his autograph which is one of the proofs Esteban uses as an "endorsement" by Segovia when in reality Segovia signed thousands of similar messages for thousands of other amateur guitarists and professionals. Under 20 people were ever truly endorsed by him.
His nails are longer to make it easier to play flamenco style and to fingerpick. Lots of guitarists who fingerpick do the same thing. Also the guy in the video is not the Ronco guy. Ron Popeil doesn't even look like him.

GOD, I want one of these guitars so bad I can't stand it. I've been picking up aluminium cans off the highway to save up for it. So far I've got $13.56 -- almost half way for enough for the first payment! This is truly my life dream to get my hands on one of these guitars. Next on my list of goals is to get one of those styling leather hats. No idea how much that costs, but I hope he comes out with a payment plan on those too. Peace out...
The guitars that he plays are probly 3 or 4 thousand dollars. The ones he sells on that website are cheap $50 guitars. But if you have never played before you need to get the cheap one. Me personally i would go to guitar center and buy one of the acoustics they sell there. That way you can always trade up to a better if you like it, or sell it back to them if you dont. They wont let you trade in one of those cheap esteban guitars. Not trying to discourage ya, but get a decent guitar.

esteban guitars are actually really great entry level guitars. no, they are not for seasoned/professional musicians, but for anyone wanting to learn how to play guitar it is a pretty solid way to go. i mean, think about it - he has made learning guitar actually affordable for many people who would otherwise just not be able to buy a guitar and learn how to play it. i have some videos of him playing with the cleveland symphony on my channel. check 'em out.
There really are better guitars out there. These are actually "beginner" guitars. The guitars he makes are not really that bad. The dates dont match up and I truly doubt a master like Segovia would waste a min. on Estaban. Without taking anything away from ol' Estaban he is a truly gifted guitar player. But in no way is he anywhere near the skill of Segovia...

My brother was given this exact guitar a few years back. lol, it is NOTHING like this. I've played guitar for about 10 years, and no matter what we did I could not get this guitar to sound right. It never stayed in tune, and had problems with intonation and buzzing. I've played tons of guitars and this was without a doubt the worst I have ever played.

i bought the Esteban turquoise on black guitar package 2 1/2 years ago,i am totally 100 % satisfied with the guitar.i still play the guitar every day,i have other more expensive guitars now and the esteban guitar is just good as any of the others i have.after i learned how to adjust the truss rod the guitar was much much easier to play.

Why does the other guy in this infomercial pronounce "Esteban"'s name closer to correct than "Esteban" himself does on the homepage of his current website? Had Segovia actually called him "Esteban" he would have pronounced it correctly and "Esteban" should know better. Emphasis should be on the second E, not the first, "Estéban".

I read somewhere that he has a huge picture in his living room of him and Segovia. Esteban looking like a pig in shit and Segovia looking like he wants out and away.
My favorite part is in the end where he's pointing at all the kids like he's actually giving pointers or something.
His real name is Steven Paul and he isn't blind in one eye, only light sensitive. I guess he's a huge hit with middle-aged housewives since he's the tall dark and handsome type.

I hate how he constantly brings up Andres Segovia. He DID NOT study with him. He basically stalked him and eventually Segovia gave him MAYBE a lesson (or maybe two). Then he signed one of his books and said something encouraging along with his autograph which is one of the proofs Esteban uses as an "endorsement" by Segovia when in reality Segovia signed thousands of similar messages for thousands of other amateur guitarists and professionals. Under 20 people were ever truly endorsed by him.

His nails are longer to make it easier to play flamenco style and to fingerpick. Lots of guitarists who fingerpick do the same thing. Also the guy in the video is not the Ronco guy. Ron Popeil doesn't even look like him.

GOD, I want one of these guitars so bad I can't stand it. I've been picking up aluminium cans off the highway to save up for it. So far I've got $13.56 -- almost half way for enough for the first payment! This is truly my life dream to get my hands on one of these guitars. Next on my list of goals is to get one of those styling leather hats. No idea how much that costs, but I hope he comes out with a payment plan on those too. Peace out...

The guitars that he plays are probly 3 or 4 thousand dollars. The ones he sells on that website are cheap $50 guitars. But if you have never played before you need to get the cheap one. Me personally i would go to guitar center and buy one of the acoustics they sell there. That way you can always trade up to a better if you like it, or sell it back to them if you dont. They wont let you trade in one of those cheap esteban guitars. Not trying to discourage ya, but get a decent guitar.

esteban guitars are actually really great entry level guitars. no, they are not for seasoned/professional musicians, but for anyone wanting to learn how to play guitar it is a pretty solid way to go. i mean, think about it - he has made learning guitar actually affordable for many people who would otherwise just not be able to buy a guitar and learn how to play it. i have some videos of him playing with the cleveland symphony on my channel. check 'em out.

There really are better guitars out there. These are actually "beginner" guitars. The guitars he makes are not really that bad. But you cant diss the guy's talent for playing a guitar just b/c he doesnt sell the very best guitars.
