  • ms200t-is-great-saw-but-he-could-land-branches-much-flatter-w/t-a-ms361-great-job

  • sure is better with mute on.

  • that last drop was awesome, nice video

  • @silicon605 Writing in all caps and with a patronizing tone of superior intellect, now that is childish. Next time use a crayon.

  • fuck thats awesome.

  • Good job boys! I mean, you tree killer!!!!

  • Nicely done Sir. We have a few of those type of giants but most of em are in the outlying areas now. Highclimber for life bro started real young I'm in for life and comin up on my 20 years unbelievable. Only a few nagging injuries that are manageable for now thanks for posting it's a tough line but I love it.

  • I really like the vids.

But why drown everything in heavily compressed rock music? Have to turn it off completely.

I would much prefer listening to the roar of the chain saw and listening to your comments as you are working!

    Peace

  • some of the big firs that grew near Snoqualmie Washington were 300 to 400 feet tall. A news paper from 1921 shows a climber topping a spar tree at 275 ft, and the top looks like it is 60 to 80 feet tall. That was standard growth big timber in the old woods of that era.

  • Exelent

  • How do you deal with the high?

  • Great video..and that sawyer has balls of STEEL!

  • Crazy!

  • Great job!

  • how old is a tree like this?

  • @Hunkerbunker346 This tree is probably a 300-year old tree. You could see that top was broken off, I'd say that it was twice the height in the video, probably 220-250 feet. There is a 339 feet Douglas-fir tree in Coos bay, Oregon.

  • @waves1of9terror

Holy crap that is a forest GIANT. Was it 8 feet diameter at breast height?

If it was 160 ft to a blown top, and the top looks like it still retains 3 to 4 feet thickness one could estimate it was originally 75 to 120 feet taller, or 250 to 300 feet tall, also it looks like those bottom branches don't start till 150'.

I've read old reports from the 19th century which describe trees 250 feet as average timber Vancouver, and Lynn Valley. some allegedly reached 352, even 415 ft.

  • This guy is a dam good climber

  • FUCK THEM BITCH ASS GOLFERS, THE TREE WAS THERE FIRST.

  • Thats a big tree

  • Wow... you must be tired after that climb..

  • helluva job, thats some BIG wood , real man in that tree

  • God thats a big tree!!!!

  • It's Sad to see Huge tree's like this go but this is what i do for a living as well. It's a tough and fun job to do with the right people.

  • First time I have seen big wood being taken down on a golf course because of danger of falling limbs without a crane. I wonder how much damage dropping those huge sections did to the golf cart path and surrounding fairway-

  • why not use a throw ball. then the other guys can pull up the tree

  • deffinettly takes some balls to do that

  • Thats some big sections. Nice.

  • Nice climb, nice vid and nice backing

  • that would make one bad ass mast for a sailing ship!

  • good man

  • thats a bad ass video

  • Professional clipping

  • Wow! That's a big tree. I'm impressed. Thanks for sharing... stickyresults

  • And yes i know this isnt logging and that this deciduous wood wont be used for much. But still dead wood will fall with or without human intervention.

  • @animewolflovr ... GD knuckle dragging hippie... Get over it, oh and dont forget that your house, your dining room table and even your cutting board that you cut your GD tofu on are all made of this stuff we call wood.

  • I DEMAND that nobody kills trees from now on! You're killing something with sentience! It's not just a collection of tree leaves and bark, it has a soul and it has feelings! I'll never eat another apple, because it comes from dead trees. And when people try and do research on dead trees to try and find out how long they lived, or to research medicine coming from other dead plants, I say NEVER! They all come from dead trees! please post this and thumbs up so people can see this!

  • @AnimeWolfLovr what an insane tree hugger moron.

  • damn gord looks good. unbelievable job. that's got to be a hell of a sight looking up at all that wood. great videos. Ive been watching the same ones over and over.

  • good job

  • I've climbed maybe a dozen trees that size or larger. 5 1/2 hours is really moving. Great work.

  • such an awesome tree!!!

  • good job man. im super impressed. that must have been a bitch to get your lanyard around that stem! ha!!

  • Wow I wonder how big that tree was originally?

  • what a perfect job nice day decent tree! nice big drop zone you dont find trees like that in england!! nice job! :)

  • bravo!!! bravo!!! that was one of the most incredible jobs i have seen. dang i wish we had something that big to climb here in hawaii. my husqy 3120 is itching for some big wood.

  • I've cut down trees before but that shit is crazy 5 stars for the guy

  • Thats somm HUGE wood. Nice job!

  • This message is for the guy in the tree.

" YOU THA MAN " I got nothing but respect.

  • Nice drop, those suns a bitches sure made quite the, "Thump" when the hit eh??Good vid.

    -ac

  • A damn good job on what was an a much harder tree than wannabes like ff25 can tell. The trunk diameter would have defeated most pro's and you made it look easy.

    Nice one!

  • just wondering how much the guy would been paid for doing that

  • @pugzta alot

  • logger boots are so dammed sexxxxxy!!!

  • should have scaled it like the old timers did..

  • The golf course that the tree was on required a habitat snag left of at least 10 meters, otherwise it would have changed the layout of the fairway, making the hole easier. Also the only corridor to fall the tree into would have required felling (and cleaing up) a half dozen other 160' firs, meaning climbing and piecing it down was the faster option.

  • why would you climb a tree you could flop? if they was worried about holes why wouldn't you rope that shit out??? waste of energy and time

  • Ha, assume that you would have down a better job. Strap on some gear and get some ropes my friend it is going to be a looonngg day, and guess what? You couldn't hack it.

  • Comment removed

  • ForestFire25,what the fuck would you know?

  • thats a cool looking tree, but yea i would'velove to cut it down!

  • Good vid.Cool tree to peice out, but what a waste of time! Flop the prick! Did you need more room?

  • @limbwalkr are you karl from corvalis limbwalker tree service? if so i work with lief metzler in eugene/lane county or. area, and im related to him and live in his house in cheshire, @ grufrock good work on making this beast look easy! cheers mate!

  • hey grufrock wheres this at? im gettin bored of climbin these 90 ft red oaks in ohio

  • west coast canada, just north of vancouver

  • oh damn thats a ways from home ha

  • facinating

  • I'm a pretty good tree climber , but this guy is a bad ass . my feet dont seems to be able to stand on a log like that for that long no more. great job tree man.

not 100% sure but it looks like they could have fell that one from the ground?

  • i have climbed trees using spikes and pole strap standing all day is one the most painful things

  • I was enjoying that until the music kicked in....gave the rest of the vid a swerve..

  • hey give it a chance, otherwise hit mute.

  • @IAWS Hafta agree the music is awful, and it is not possible to turn it off fast enough.....Nice job on the tree tho........

  • gnarly snag ..good idea with strapping the first top incase it decides to blow apart..but you problalby had a good idea how rotted it was when you were cuting...where is that?

  • Pretty good video quality on this one, including the close-ups like driving the wedge in.

Top looked pretty decayed when it got battered on the ground.

    Cheers,

    M. D. Vaden / Oregon Arborist

  • Great video!! Been there done that.

  • I hope yo repaired you divot!

Seriously fun work. Nice job mate

  • I tip my saw to you sir, great work and great view as well .. I enjoy watching a pro work and still show people that you cant do it any other way than cut here and there.. A pro does it very slow and easy to keep every body safe so keep cutting safe

  • there is no way you would get me climing a tree that high, he's a brave man & cutting those tree section's each one must weight about five ton.

  • This was too cool ! Great camera work also ! Looks like fun man !

  • thing is BOY! I have had a life and seen what does go on why do you think the planet is in such a f*** mess! Richard Head.

  • this tree would've made nice timber....

  • big fir, great job taking it down.

nice balance on the lims on your first big cut. seen the rope slide down a bit, i hate when that happens.

  • Cut that bitch down from the ground! Surprised you didn't take something bigger than a 200T up there. Impressive work man!

  • you need a tight sphinkter to do that fairplay im glad to see it was knakerd wat ashame id loved o get a chance to get that high trees in england only get about half that

  • awsome, great job!

  • why not just climb up 50' and bomb one big section?looked like alot of room,or was it to rotten?

  • MASSIVE FIR!!! where is that

  • Near Vancouver BC, Sunshine coast.

  • Complete twats. Move the friggin golf course!!!

  • This tree only had one live limb that was mostly broken and hanging. By cutting it down to a short spar it is a very least preserved for many people to see and enjoy. I spend more time with trees than you do, don't assume that I don't appreciate them.

  • thetreehunter is a tree hugger. get a life. its a half rotten peice of shit tree. all its good for is a pecker tree and thats what they did with it.

  • omg that tree is a monster

  • nice job :)

  • Nice work!! Did you use the "SRT"(single rope technique) method to get into that tree?

  • Yup that's right. The bark is the biggest challenge on old Douglas-fir, it's really hard in places, really crumbly in other spots and deeply furrowed all over. Makes it really difficult to gaff.

  • Nice!!!!could you not fell it, instead of chogging it down?

  • The golf course wanted a 'habitat snag' left 50' tall. Plus it would have made a real mess of a bunch of trees that aren't visible in the video.

  • Bad Ass Video. "That's the ultimate spring bored".

  • i voted 5 star

  • awsome love the old 066

  • awesome...5/5

  • Good job!

  • Ive never seen a tree that huge, much less climbed to the top of it with a huge saw!

  • That was sick!!! I liked the log exploding at the end.

  • awesome as usual!

  • awesome nice job five stars
