  • lol got a new one for you call (you rock guitar midi controller ) and can play more than one string at a time

  • do you get a lot of ghost notes with the Axon?

  • Keep up the good work.Pls put up more video bro.Your so cool.Thanks.Remember I was here.Thai 6:11PM 7/16/2011

  • wow , your so enthusiastic.

  • This is a awesome piece of software, if I owned one of the big music companies, like Roland I would buy the rights to this and incorporate it into some hardware and promote the heck out of it. Great videos too, I can't imagine who gave this a thumbs down? Great stuff - Rock On.

  • how do all the kontakt synths pads and arpeggiators sound?

  • @jscucc There are quite a variety of pads, sometimes they sound too much, but if you go to the Instrument panel there are a bunch of friendly controls you can tweak to get the sound you want. The arpeggiator patches I don't like so much, but you can actually add Kontakt's arpeggiator script to any instrument you want, so the possibilities are endless (there's also a sequencer script if the arpeggiator isn't flexible enough for you).

  • You said that the market of "software instruments+MIDI guitars" are still small, and that's why this combination still doesn't work well together. Could you make a video playing a song using all that you taught in your previous videos? I mean using integration between midi guitars and VSTs... Maybe by doing this you could make people more interested, and so increase this market... we all could win with more products and innovations being released

  • @mariliap There are load of songs out there by much better guitarists than me out there (not specifically using gtak, but using MIDI guitars). Google for "Roland guitar synth challenge" for some (sorry, youtube won't let me post the link).

  • was surprised to see that midi guitar is still such a challenge ...after 25years of this stuff I would have thot it would be all sorted out..great guitar you have there, LP Gold Top?..thanks for the wealth of info.

  • @guitarharpsichord yeah, some things have been sorted out, but most software instruments still don't play nice with MIDI guitar, it seems it's too small a market for the people who write them to be worried about.

  • hey I have a gr-20 and Im wondering what I need to be able to plug that into my computer and what i will need to get that processed signal from my computer to my amp. maybe some kind of usb converter?

  • soooooooo COOOOOOOOOOOLLLLL !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • where i can download gtak script?

  • Oh thank christ, for a minute there I thought your site was down permanently. Do you know how hard it is to piece together a decent Midi guitar sound, ridiculous

  • hi good day I dont know which divice buy the axon 100 our the roland gr_20 which of the two is better if you can give my the more information you have i will apprecite thanks

  • I love this demo. The expert is so pleasantly soft spoken. A very welcome change from whizz boom bang bigger better faster BUY NOW!. Very fine english sense of humor. Hours of fun!

  • Can you set up axon to all six strings send to one

    midi channel?

  • Wow, how confusing, isnt there a synth thing i can just set up to automatically change the sound of all five string? I would love a piano sound of my guitar

  • If you just want a piano sound easily then you could just get and Axon AX100 or one of the Rolands and use the built in sounds. It won't sound as good as the pianos in something like Kontakt4, but it will be much easier!

  • hi. i have a question. wich is the difference, beetwen the axon ax 50 and ax 100 mk II ? if i buy an mk II, and i use a cable to convert from midi to usb, and i will connect it to my pc (for to use others sounds), will i have latency? and, is possible with ax 50 or mk II, to use 2 instruments togheter, as piano and strings ( at the same fret i mean). thx!

  • Thank you for this information. I was considering purchasing an AXON AX 50 USB and Roland GK3 divided pickup, with the intention of being able to play my VST softsynths poly-phonically out of the box. I am glad you provided information on Gtak.

  • gtak can use with third party sample for kantak,,? ex:- East west,... etc

  • Gtak works with some 3rd party libraries but not all - because unfortunately Kontakt's scripting system doesn't keep scripts separate very well. So, some libraries scripts can break Gtak.

The only way of finding out if it will work with a particular instrument is to try it.

  • I'm intrested in buying the gi-20. I have propellerhead reason with a ton of refill packs. I have a keyboard I use it with but I'm not good at keyboard. WOuld I be able to use the gi20 with reason OK? Will I have the same problem about different strings?

  • I haven't tried using Reason with a guitar synth - but I think you will need to set up six copies of each synth. That might not be too inconvenient with Reason because you could put all six into a Combinator... but as I say, I've never tried it!

  • please please please ! help me, i have 1000 euro budget and i will buy the GI20.....please, can you tell me what i need to work with VSTs correctly besides the GI20 and the GK3 of my guitar.....do i need this Gtek ? and where can i get i from....please...i will soon get a home studio wich ill also use to make a bit of money...iyou could really help me out with just a few senteces.....id be glad if you could give me an advice, ...i am online on youtube everyday, please reply ! :D please

  • You don't need Gtak to use VSTs with a GI20.

Gtak just makes it much easier to use Kontakt3 or 4 with a GI20. If you want to use Kontakt's sounds with a MIDI guitar, and you want it to be easy, then you want Gtak!

  • i will have to buy one, i will use my guitar as te only controller besides a small axiuon maudio....its amazing actually, so with the pitch per string i can use drop tunings without the need to detune my tremolo guitar for ex ??

  • Yes you can use Gtak to do drop tunings without retuning your guitar. The only confusion is if you can hear the sound from the strings at the same time as the sound coming out of Kontakt, but that can be fixed by cranking your speakers up!

  • I have a GK2a pickup - can I use this with Kontak and Gtak? Is that all? looks amazing

  • You need several things: a pickup (like your GK2a) a Guitar to MIDI converver (eg Axon AX50/AX100 or Roland GI20/GR33 etc) a soundcard, a computer, Gtak and Kontakt3 or 4.

    hope that helps...

  • would this work on a krimson touch guitar with a midi interface?

  • I think so, but I am not sure. It looks like the touch guitar has a 13 pin output which could plug into a Roland or Axon guitar to midi converter which could then drive Gtak.

I don't know how the extra 2 strings are handled though, maybe there is a way to plug 2 guitar to midi converters in? Gtak can only handle 6 strings at the moment, but this would be fairly easy to change if there was demand.

Get in touch using the contact form on our website if you want me to look into it further.

  • hi, i want to buy a midi processor for my guitar. wich has better sounds, rolang gr 33 or axon mkII ? is possible, for example, to collecate a campionator with axon so that i can use my personal sounds made by my self? thx

  • The GR33 probably has better built-in sounds than the Axon. But which works best for you depends on your playing style and what other features you are looking for. You can use either to trigger a sampler (hardware or software like kontakt) to play your own sounds.

  • hi. thx for the answer. i want to use it., for live. i play with the PEN, and i play very delicate, but precise

  • does Gtak allow you to use those functions on other plugins such as native instruments - as they have kontakt modules

  • Gtak only works with Kontakt, but we are working on something that will work with other plugins...

  • I can honestly say this is the best use of a guitar to midi synth that I have ever heard. I cant stand when a pure synth tone still sounds like its being played from a guitar....Great job my friend..

  • This looks very useful, and I noticed your Axxon has perfect tracking.

  • I would not say the Axon's tracking is perfect (I am a pretty clumsy guitarist which doesn't help!). It is very good though!

In the course of making this video though I think there was only one missed note (that bit got cut out during editing).
