the quality has nothing to do with how sick the beat is...if a beat is bangin with good drum patterns, with good drum and perc variation, and if the samples or instruments are chopped and played well, through shitty speakers the beat will sound good ...

160 if you understood, would be an extreme. THERE ARE NO RULES WAS MY POINT. Take a 80 BPM beat, split your timing in half, double the tempo and you can put in some really nice sped up hats snares and synths that are synced to that timing. As someone else said Techno/Dance and such are usually around these higher tempos and where is mainstream hip hop going? Right, either Alternative rock fused, Techno/Dance fused or Jazz/Funk. No need to be rude.

rap is inbetween 85-105bpm, techno is 125-150bpm, RnB is anywhere, Dance and house music is around 130bpm, club mixes are between 100-140bpm
