Thanks to all Google & Youtube Crew and a very LOUD APPLAUSE to all Handphone Manufacturers .

I can finally CARRY All the Music I love with me whenever I go ; just like going back to the days when I was only 13 when I first bought a small mini size 9 X 4 cm FM Radio Walkman back in 1985 .

No need to listen to anymore D.J. ' s bland voice !!!!! Great !!!!!!

  • @xiuqin24 Congrats young man! Because in your heart you will always be forever young!!

  • just too good...stellar songwriting, VOCAL, and performance...gee whiz !!! great post !!

  • the 70's was about melody, that's why the music is so memorable.

  • When people knew how to write songs, unlike today.

  • Eu sempre amei essa música ,Um grande abraço do Brasil a todos que como eu amam boa música.

The guitar man still playing in my heart ...forever...

  • 1970's music will NEVER be repeated. Never ending talent with one great hit after another. What happened?

  • I was a Sophomore in high school when this song was "hot" and I STILL have the vinyl of this album! It was one of THE songs of the time! Bad Kitty

  • @BadKittyjb I think I have to agree with you! looking back, it seems kinda like a dream. I wished I would've done more..

  • Life was less complicated way back then... (wasn't it?)

  • @VegiRulez because you were young

  • I must say i was very blessed to be able to grow up in the 70's and 80's...From the 60' till the end of the 80's..it was the best 30 yrs that planet earth ever had

  • David's 71 today (11/12/11) That's staggered me, thought he would have been arounnd 65

    Superb band.

  • they make it look esy

  • This band made the 70's worth living !

  • The solo on this live version doesn't kill like the recorded version. I'd like to hear someone remake this song so it can get re-discovered.

  • fine song...the people speak 2 million+ views!!!

  • AM Gold

  • My absolute favorite song since I was a little girl was, "IF"! Still love them :)

  • Timeless music!!!!

  • Tiempos idos ya casi no la escuchan los jovenes a esta hermosa msica que marcoi toda una epoca en el mundo.

  • Bread is one of my all-time favorite bands. Love David. Love the songs. They are the best. They should have been recognized more for their great music..

  • that guitar solo straight to the soul!!!

  • BREAD FED US WITH GOOD MANNA

  • rice

  • I love this Band

  • people seem to forget about the 70's there was a lot of great music in that era

  • @dictator54 - Agreed. When my oldest son was in 8th grade the school had a dance with a 70s theme. Practically every other song was Disco! I recall a lot of great music in the 70s (I grew up then) and none of it was disco. More Than a Feeling - Hotel California - Don't Fear The Reaper - Brown Sugar - Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress - Draggin' the Line. I have a playlist with 27 songs from the 70s and The Guitar Man is the closing song. And not one is disco.

  • they were underestimated because (I THINK) that times there was many great bands ccr elo janis jimmi led bowie alice cooper and so many others yes lou reed thanks god all know the best ones

  • Cake made a great cover of this. Yes, a band called Cake covered Bread.

  • @RDBeatnik LOL!

  • @RDBeatnik Thanks' Since Bread played before the Digital age like me we can't trully see how good they really were and FNRRRR !

  • one of my favorite song when i was on 2nd grade, way back the early 70's

  • I heard this song while watching on TV-Maid in Manhattan,so I miss Bread's songs, especially, guitar man is very special.thank you very much.

  • i re4member this song from the times at the skating rink

  • Awsome band !

  • I agree, one of the best bands of the 70's nothing brings me back like Bread - totally under-rated, deserved much much better.

  • their music still makes me shiver

    How many have copied "IF"

  • one of the best bands of the 70, thay got that right when the called it the best of bread,, awsome group love it

  • i love this song.memorable for me.

  • One of the greatest bands, and greatest songwriters (David Gates) that ever hit the charts!!

  • I Like

  • Hands down.........one of the all time great 70's songs.

  • Aubrey has the greatest line If I can't have the one I want I'll do without the best! BEAUTIFUL SONG!!!!!!

  • 70年代、ソフト・ポップ・ロックの王者バンド、ブレッド、ギターマン(当時のライヴ)~アメリカ、バッド・フィンガーと共に文句無し!

  • These days the music is not base on the guitar but the bass beat which is really boring and is not very mentally challenging. Really and honestly I don't need drugs to be swept away by this music, it just gently takes me where ever.

  • Everybody loves a guitar man.. and My family lost the best guitar man last year on June 6th ! Johnny did the best air guitar ever!!

  • Great electric guitar solo by the late Larry Knechtel. R.I.P.

  • timeless

  • Wow, there are 55 really sad people.

  • Who draws the crowd and plays so loud,

    Baby it's the guitar man.

Who's gonna steal the show, you know

    Baby it's the guitar man,

  • I am not a musician but i love playing guitar all the time

  • Awesome song, but you want to hear the master of slide guitar, check out George Harrison's live performances.......

  • @CyberKiwi73 I wrote a song about an octopus.. We'll hang it on the fridge Ringo..

  • My first view of this vid - Awesome song ! - truly awesome (I'm an ex metal head and allsorts - but this is a true classic!).

  • i like this song!!!!!

  • i've always loved bread. while my friends were playing bon-jovi i was playing bread.

  • This Band Never got the credit that they Earned & Deserved. They were together for many yrs..had Alot of really Good songs. But, i don't think they Ever won any awards? In my opinion they were one of the Best. There'll Never be music like the music of the 70s era? That's when music was REAL!!

  • @powerswj1 i agree.....

  • @powerswj1 Too true man, absolutely brill

  • @powerswj1 they did from those of us who know

  • @powerswj1 To me, this band was one of the very Top of the entire 70's...

I'd be looking ABBA, Creedance, Carpenters, Bee Gees, Chicago, Bread & 3 Dog Night or Santana as the very Best of the 1970'sLOL!

  • ty old man the military. You know

    .

  • oldman850.......... it makes me sad that you never got the respect and adoration that most guitar men get. for myself i think the guitar is a very sensual instrument. i'm sure that you found joy in playing and it made you happy.

  • i made a choice back in the early 70 to join the military or get married and do the family thing now 45 years later i am retierd and no family man i wish i would have taken the high road and did the family thing but then i probably wouldnt have seen the world so i guess it was all good

  • @oldman850 thank you for your service. my son made it out of iraq 3 times. now he's being a dad like he wanted to do in his kindergarten yearbook. just think how many babies got life because of your unselfish service including me!!!

  • who was the lead guitarist in the bumble bee shirt. I'd really like to know. Alot of the guitarists at the time had to perform standing up to fit the rock star bill the record companies pushed for.

  • @bearing44 his name is dean parks. he was not an official bread member.

he was(is?) an studio musician,en helped bread out with live concerts.

  • The way the 70s and early 80s were, many nights these Bread songs were very mellow and soft. Very good time.

  • THE BAND SHOULD NEVER HAVE AGREED TO "DAVID GATES AND BREAD" IT SHOULD HAVE AWAYS BEEN "BREAD" SHOW RESPECT DAVID, ESPECIALLY NOW THAT THE OTHER MEMBERS OF BREAD HAVE PASSED ON.

  • USAF I got no kids. spent to many years as a grunt. No woman ever wanna touch me so shut the fuck up

  • Nice song...

  • Very cool song.

  • This is awesome! I love Cakes version better i do have to admit. not to much different but i jus tlike it better

  • You guys who make fun of the kids music are nothing but a bunch of cunts, our parents thought our music was shit too back in the day, so congradulations you've become your parents, losers.

  • sorry I keep commenting on this, but I feel emotion thank you for posting

  • you mean they got artists today? lol sazopro. Musicians are still here, we just hide from the plastic make believe. real music, thanks

  • gotta love soft rock from the 70's...!!!!!!! back then you had MUSICIANS...!!!!!

  • oh yeah I turned 8 in 1970, sure miss mom and dad. Natz thanks for your comment about your dad. Keep making it go bro.

  • He's right -- Everybody DOES love the Guitar Man.

  • guapa422 you have good taste in music. iluv this song too.

  • Doesn't matter where I am or what I am doing, I can always find time to enjoy this song. Classic.

  • I THINK DAVID JUST ENJOY EVERY BIT OF KNOWING THAT WE ALL LOVE THIS AND EVRY OF HIS SONGS, THEY WERE JUST GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Que show de banda!!! Amo ouvir essa música e, o som da guitarra é ótimooooooo.

  • it says read for a solo then the guitar just plays with all the other instruments not a solo....

  • @111boyman111 A solo isn't just someone playing by themselves. Most solos still have accompaniment. It matters how the listener's attention is drawn to the lead guitar and no one else. You have a lot to learn about music, judging from the music on your channel.

  • To some, as far as sappiness is concerned, this is pretty tame by today's standards. At least it's not like Justin Bieber, so count your blessings, guys and dolls.

  • Oh, the good times.................

  • Thumbs if you heard the Cake version first and now have ultra respect for these guys :D

  • i was born during the 70's. but when i heard this song when i was at grade school during the 80's i really love it until now...

  • hmmmmmm...lost time..thank you for reminding me

  • Larry Knechtel was seldom better.

  • everybody loves a guitar man.

  • i agree i was not even born around this time but it is used in soundtrack for moves i luv this song!

  • @sweetytwome2 i wish that were true i spent years on the guitar and all i gott was alone

  • My mom got me into this music when I was young. I would always listen but I would never hear the beauty of the music. As a sixteen year-old, I'm proud to say I have good taste in music.

  • Music for the soul. . .

  • Great memories....love Bread

  • @Exxtragold From what I've heard, mainstream pop and, rock of that time was quite good. This is just good, crafted and, unpretentious pop rock music.

  • I had the good fortune to hear them in Atlanta in 76 when i was 16 yrs old. Wish i could go back to those days. Life was simplier.

  • i was 3 years old when this was made...however, 39 years later, i can still really appreciate how good this is....

  • This is awesome...Love the songs... I was 7 years old at that time and man, the song really so beautiful and the voice is superb...great band...

  • @Lhouie27 Same but i'm 14

  • 2:15...i think Travis used this riff for their song 'Side'...sounds very similar to me anyway!! xD

  • night after night who is gonna treat you right?????

  • who is gonna steel the show???

  • love the stiped shirt ,, classic english navy !! lol

  • @Lhouie27 so do I

  • Excellent!!

  • I LOVE THESE SONGS FROM 72 I WAS 16 YEARS OLD GOOD OLD MEMORYS.GREAT SINGER

  • Man, this was on the jukebox in every smalltown B.C. bar back in '72. And when we left the bar, my buddy had it on the 8 track as well. Amazing, the totally useless stuff my brain recalls.

Now, what was I going to do...hmmm....

  • I don't understand how anybody could not like this band. THEY ARE GREAT!

  • Thanks for sharing. There are such good memories associated with Bread's music for me , I can't begin to tell you.

  • i like this song since when im in love hehehe..

  • this song is the bomb :) i like cakes version as well, even though this is the original :)

  • @frieze420 I like Cakes version too....It's a bit ..fashionable..haha..seriously,i love it.....Bread...has and always will be one of my fav bands and David's ""Rain,Cloud's suite..is a very special rendition .........:)

  • Aaaah, Memories!!

  • You got that right

  • Good guitar playing. However, I still think the guitar solo is the piece at the end of the song "Hotel California" by the Eagles.

  • @manlinc I meant the BEST guitar solo.

  • when we were 14..15...16..in the partys we danced this song...and fall in love

  • 50 troll
