Yes, to make your body butter more like a lotion you just put less butter or add more oil to it. Cocoa butter, for example, is one of the hardest butters, so to make your body butter more creamy you will need to put more oil (30% butter and 70% oil). Shea butter is softer, so you don't need that much oil.
Putting more vit E could help you keep your butters longer, but important is also where, how and what temperature natural butters and ingredients are kept.
