canuck_thundur_06 here from the pearl drummer's forum, just thought I'd check out some of your stuff on Youtube. Sounds like you're almost there with this tune, but looks like you should try lowering the drum throne, would look more comfortable if you already haven't adjusted the angle of your knees there
I've now gotten this beat figured out, as well as a few other Bonham grooves, but now my problem is that I get stage fright whenever I try to make vids of myself. I'm going to try a different approach soon in that I'm going to put the camera in a less conspicuous spot that I won't be seen more than the drums. It'll be harder to see my playing, but maybe I'll play like it's not there.
ok...its actually better than the first vids of this beat, but still not all that good. Dang son, just relax! And try practicing with a metronome. It helps you to understand how all the parts fit together.
Dude...I am a black guy and even I know the difference between metal and a blast beat....so should you....An your ghost notes bad because of equipment...they are bad because you playing them properly...sorry but it's true...
Get a rudiment sheet and practice them for about an hour per day. Do very simple rock beats very slow with a metronome until you get them smooth. Loosen up and lower your seat. I wouldn't work on a beat like the fool in the rain beat for a year or so. Good luck!
OH! If it sounds like my ghost notes don't sound at all like ghost notes, that's due to my digital camera's cheap microphone auto adjusting constantly.

You look like Drew Carey on speed.

you need to fix your foot positioning on the bass drum pedal, and you also need to loosen up, you look like a robot

try quarter notes on the china, a stroke on the snare every 3rd china stroke and triplets with the bass that start on the china hit
if you can do it fast its a really good metal beat
