I don't have perfect pitch, but i can tell a phenomena existed within Trey's cranium preventing him from singing in key, creating unintentional discordancy.
@cordfluidnevoie patton never had a drug problem, he was only addicted to caffiene, he drinks ALOT of coffee. he's just generally brilliant, someone high off life; and naturally creative
@schalleepimp101 Actually, since System Of A Down are Armenian and most of the members were born in the Middle East that is where they were got their Middle Eastern influence. I would say it would be more correct to assert that Mr. Bungle and SOAD HAVE the same influences as opposed to this song being an influence for them. Plus SOAD were already establish and touring when this album came out.
Sure Zappa liked this - of course - it's strange shit - but sounds like pop music compared to some to other stuff Bungle did. Still - Bungle explored areas that Zappa didn't and Zappa explored areas that Bungle didn't - especially time signatures. Can't compare they are both great. Fuck imitators and long live innovators!
@kanani717 Mr.Bungles music are mostly fine compositions strung together with ideas that serve artful expression much more than trying to be virtuoso or exotic. If you listen to the California album, it is one of the very few albums that covers a variety of moods, from very spheric and calm songs to fragmentet aggressive pieces. However I also dislike music that seems to focus mainly on virtuosity, and being overly glamorous like Dreamtheater, Joe Satriani, List and Chopin...
Settle down, dude... you just don't get the concept of Mr.B.
Its certainly not about randomness, nor wanting to be "unmainstream"... but sure, it takes a while to get familiar to the compositions. California still rules after 10 years intense listening.
Of course it's enjoyable to listen to stuff like Rihanna, Britney Spears, Red Hot Chillipeppers, Miley Cyrus, R.E.M., Rolling Stones and other easylistening styles but you always know it doesnt last more than at best a few months

@mcdstuff I might be wrong, but I seem to recall that Zappa and Patton where friends, or at least aquaintances and Patton visited him sometimes. Its a shame that stuff like this that was going around in the ninteys never really did take off in the mainstream fully.
@duckmonsterX I think we should be semi thankful that it didn't get into Mainstream listener music players because if it did (and don't think I don't like this music, I love it) it would become commericalised beyond recognition. Record labels would vie to destroy it's 'insanity' and try create some sort of hip hop crap with these geniuses music.
Best super group in my opinion would be mike patton on vocal and key boar max cavlera on vocal and guitar joey jordinson on drums les claypool on bass and vocals and bucket head on lead guitar, that would be the best show EVER!!!
Sorry to break the news to you guys, but Mr Bungle really sucks. I can't believe Mike Patton diverted his attention from FNM to put out this GARBAGE back in the 90's.
FUCK THIS SHIT!!!
This is just a glorified ripp off of John Zorn's shitty prog-jazz music! Even the way Mike Patton dressed in their live performances by wearing those tacky hawaiian shirts!
FUCK MR. BUNGHOLE AND ALL OF YOU MIKE PATTON GROUPIES WHO GET ALL PUSSY WHIPPED WHEN PEOPLE SAY THE TRUTH.
@kanani717 go listen to you pussy ass miley cyrus or justin beiber fucktard. Mr. Bungle is fantastic, and you are fucking ignorant. i bet you don't have any musical knowledge what so ever. if you believe you have, i would advise you to kill yourself, because anyone who knows a little bit about music knows that Mr. Bungle aint just kickass music, its art. btw, i seriously can't see where john zorn enters the picture, but i do love the music he composes for the moonchild trio STARRING MIKE PATTON!
@JustDrinkIt After hearing Mr.Bugnhole's gay tangoish rhythms, weird noises, out of place time changes, and random bullshit your saying they aren't a John Zorn rip off? Please.
How about after you finish choking on Patton's load, you go hang yourself by your fucking g string while I fuck your mom in the ass!!!
@kanani717 strange noises, time changes that seems unnatrual and random "bullshit" is what makes Progressive music smartass. its a very populare genre these days! what they use is something called "Tecnique". Ever heard of that before? The members of Mr. Bungle are very smart and talented musicians, you cannot disprove that. I won't go as far as saying that they are "Ripping off" John Zorn, but he is clearly an inspiration to them. Every single artist need an inspiration in order to create.
@JustDrinkIt They are a total rip off of John Zorn! A few changes here and there, but it sounds the same undeaneath the icing. Most progressive music sucks(with some exceptions like Rush).They are talented musicians, but it doesn't matter. They care more about making something weird than they do making it good, which is why the crowd in this vid doesn't respond well and why Mr.Bunghole's highest viewed video can't even reach 1 million views. Sorry the truth hurts!
uuuhm? are you implying that an artist needs to be populare to good? and tell me why most progressive music sucks? you are not telling "the truth" because there is no truth only personal meanings. i find mindfuck alot more entertaining than most melodies. and may i add that music = entertainment! i listen to whatever entertains me, but i like that the entertainers deserve the attention, unlike pop music these days with autotuning and titties all over. music is supposed to be audible, not visual.
@JustDrinkItMr.Bugnhole isn't a mindfuck-it's just crap.
Popularity has nothing to do with how good music is, BUT if the music sucks it's probably not very popular, like this band.
Most progressive bands suck because they aren't trying to make art. They just want to make something so different so they can say "Hey see what I can do!". The new band I just joined could write 10 minute songs of random shit, but we aren't because we are intersted in making music, not beging for attention.
@kanani717 so bands like mr bungle and tool are begging for attention? they are like the least commercial bands ever existed. Iron Maiden, Metallica, Trivium just to name a few, are sellout bands. Mr Bungle is one of those rare golden nuggets in the deep dirty river of the music industry, but i guess you like sewer.
@JustDrinkIt Oh wow, those bands have big fanbases and have actually reached commercial success. Your right, they must be sellouts!
Im not even really a fan of any of those bands, but they are miles above anything Mr.Bunghole's shit will ever amount to. Yes, they beg for attention because they only do what they do to look "cool and different". Thankfully no huge record labels would invest deeply enough for them to succeed, so they could fail, leaving this project in the past where it belongs
@4578a This whole band together is nothing but a ripp off of John Zorn. There's some cum drizzled on the top of Mr.Bunghole's music to make it worse, but that is the only real difference aside from Mike Patton acting like a suffering hebitch over a mic.
You fans are such a Patton fanboy cult. Mike Patton could be smacking his balls against the keyboard and you would all say "wow! look how original & unmainstream this is!" "Cum on my face Mike!!"
A little jealous that you'll never make music as good as this?
So am I, but I actually enjoy it instead of getting all dickhurt about it. Seriously though, but a little more open-minded and rational, do you know how hard it would be to actually write random parts that fit together so well like this? Come on, give Mr. B some credit!
I'm not putting down the band when I say this; I'm quite sure that the Mike Patton and all the amazing musicians that have played with him all find this music easy to write. :P
I mean, many other people would find this a daunting task, but to them it's probably second nature.
Correction: Mike Patton is a terrible composer, Mr. Bungle was a terrific band. Patton contributed heavily to Bungle's final album, which sucks ass. His compositional contribution was minimal in the earlier stages of the band. The music became mired by his pretentious shit.
Also, don't write off entire genres of music. It makes you look extremely ignorant. You can play the pariah, but it'll get you nowhere. Good music can occur in every genre, as can bad music.
I didn't write off progressive music, I just said that there are a disproportionately high number of progressive/experimental bands, like Mr.Bunghole, that really suck.
@Parvenu333 Patton is a terrible composer? you must really be on crack. the man is a genius. i would love for you to name one musician that is as versatile as Mike Patton.
@kanani717 god another dumbass on this thread. you use the words shitty and zorn in the same sentence? yeah so this is why so many REAL musicians respect people like john zorn and patton. oh btw, zorn and patton are good friends. just saw them do cobra last week. but you probably listen to that cookie cutter, record company bland crap now, don't you?
It always cracks me up to hear how quickly you Mr.Bunghole fans jump to defend Patton and this shitty project no matter how much it sucks. FNM was awsome, but Mr.Bunghole is just shit, which is why only a small cult of Mike Patton sex slaves like them.
So while your watching Patton & Zorn get it on, I'll be listening to honest artists that already know they are good and don't just make shitty albums to try to prove they are "not mainstream" or "progressive".
@shneizah I wasn't but now that you mention it, RHCP has more talent than Mr.Bunghole could ever have. They could mix a few minutes of random crap together and call it a song if they wanted to, but they don't because that's just retarded like Mr.Bunghole.
You know, I don't think that I can even recall a single red hot chili peppers song. I guess they can make a song homogeneous, but could they possibly make them less boring?
@4578a Anybody can do what Mr.Bunghole does. Performing some of the songs live would be a little tough, but as far as composition goes they are just like every poser progressive/experimental band out there. "Lets string a bunch of unecessary shit together and say its music". They r worse though, because they r like "lets just make everything random on top of that" "Look at me!"
Their fans like them cuz they think the randomness makes it "cool & unmainstream", but it's really just retarded.
@kanani717 actually it's not a bunch of shit. He uses Hungarian minor scales as well as accidentals that fit within the music. so to your "random shit" phrases, it's more like "genius"
@wafflesguitarpie No...it's just shit. Period. Anyone can just string exotic scale shapes to some totaly different musical idea while yelling over it like a gimp.
@kanani717 HA! that's what you think. try it yourself. it's gonna be even worse. I've been studying music theory since 1rst grade. (that was a decade ago) I can't do what this man has done. It sounds like insanity but the depth to it is just pure genious
@wafflesguitarpie Yes you could, because it's all just exotic/silly shit strung together (which is why it sounds terrible). It might take time sort out, but yeah, anyone with time can write a Mr.Bunghole song.
Thats my problem with many progressive/experimental musicians, they spend so much time thinking about what they can put together that they disregaurd whether they should or not...they don't care about art or music, they only care about showing what's possible to do (w/ some exceptions)
@kanani717 you come here to this video and type that just to start shit with people that were BORN with a different taste in music than you, and then you act like it's the fans fault for liking something different than you?! wow you'll never amount to anything in life with that kind of stupidity.
i read a review on mr bungle that said they have short fast passages that go nowhere...ive never seen it go nowhere. i just see it as rhythmical, dynamic, and tempo contrast. who hasnt heard a 3 chord pop song that goes nowhere? the answer is no1, because the radio is full of shit. bieber ne1?
hey! guess what? i like both red hot chili peppers and Mr. bungle! think for yourselves you hollow, faceless, herds of quasi-human sheep. just because a band that you liked splits, doesnt mean you have to hate a band out of false pride for a band that doesnt even know who you are, Mr. Bungle broke up, why dont you cry about it?
The Red Hot Shitty Peppers bunch of typical lame and boring heroine addicts who are nothing more then part of the soon forgotten past because they fear their future being old boring typical heroine addicts. Mike Patton a man who never ends he only begins who always looks to the future the true meaning of Progressive Rock!!!! THE ONE AND ONLY MIKE MASSACRE!!!! and I mean that in a good way
Mr. Bungle doesn't want the crowd to dance at all, they just want them to stand there and watch.. they always say that in there interviews and stuff, that's why they refuse to play songs like squeeze me, and girls of porn.
Obviously not a lot of people were there to see Mr. Bungle. Sad. I'll bet half the people didn't even know it was Mike. I need more Bungle! New Albums! ---Probably never gonna happen.
God, these guys are so ahead of their era and still ahead now!!! theres no way a crowd can be dead with this music. If the crowd was really dead in this concert, then they are a bunch of queer emos.
He should bring a real "accordéoniste" to play the accordéon sound...! :)

Mike Patton could be smacking his balls against the keyboard and you would all say "wow! look how original & unmainstream this is!" "Cum on my face Mike!!"
kanani717 1 year ago
@kanani717
A little jealous that you'll never make music as good as this?
So am I, but I actually enjoy it instead of getting all dickhurt about it. Seriously though, but a little more open-minded and rational, do you know how hard it would be to actually write random parts that fit together so well like this? Come on, give Mr. B some credit!
nyrangers731 9 months ago
@nyrangers731
I'm not putting down the band when I say this; I'm quite sure that the Mike Patton and all the amazing musicians that have played with him all find this music easy to write. :P
I mean, many other people would find this a daunting task, but to them it's probably second nature.
Cagedand3nRaged 9 months ago
@Cagedand3nRaged
Lol, if it's easy to write why don't they do it
Whitestuffco 7 months ago
@Whitestuffco
Easy to them, hard to everyone else! xD

Parvenu333 1 year ago
I didn't write off progressive music, I just said that there are a disproportionately high number of progressive/experimental bands, like Mr.Bunghole, that really suck.
kanani717 1 year ago
@Parvenu333 Patton is a terrible composer? you must really be on crack. the man is a genius. i would love for you to name one musician that is as versatile as Mike Patton.
ittlemoe69 1 year ago
@ittlemoe69 Versatility? How about musicality? Nope, nothing there. Patton sucks. He was carried by the other members of the band no doubt.
Parvenu333 1 year ago
@kanani717 god another dumbass on this thread. you use the words shitty and zorn in the same sentence? yeah so this is why so many REAL musicians respect people like john zorn and patton. oh btw, zorn and patton are good friends. just saw them do cobra last week. but you probably listen to that cookie cutter, record company bland crap now, don't you?
ittlemoe69 1 year ago
It always cracks me up to hear how quickly you Mr.Bunghole fans jump to defend Patton and this shitty project no matter how much it sucks. FNM was awsome, but Mr.Bunghole is just shit, which is why only a small cult of Mike Patton sex slaves like them.
So while your watching Patton & Zorn get it on, I'll be listening to honest artists that already know they are good and don't just make shitty albums to try to prove they are "not mainstream" or "progressive".

[insinuating RHCP has more talent than Mr. Bungle LOLOLOL]
shneizah 1 year ago
@shneizah I wasn't but now that you mention it, RHCP has more talent than Mr.Bunghole could ever have. They could mix a few minutes of random crap together and call it a song if they wanted to, but they don't because that's just retarded like Mr.Bunghole.
kanani717 1 year ago
@kanani717
You know, I don't think that I can even recall a single red hot chili peppers song. I guess they can make a song homogeneous, but could they possibly make them less boring?
Jcolinsol 1 year ago
@kanani717
ignorant or troll; you are at least one of the two.
Musical talent is obviously something you know next to nothing about, ar your'e just another typical youtube commenting badass. Enjoy :)
shneizah 1 year ago
@kanani717 Are you serious? If you kidding,ha ha but i don't think you are. The problem is you definately couldn't do what they do and you suck dick!
4578a 1 year ago
@4578a Anybody can do what Mr.Bunghole does. Performing some of the songs live would be a little tough, but as far as composition goes they are just like every poser progressive/experimental band out there. "Lets string a bunch of unecessary shit together and say its music". They r worse though, because they r like "lets just make everything random on top of that" "Look at me!"
Their fans like them cuz they think the randomness makes it "cool & unmainstream", but it's really just retarded.
kanani717 1 year ago
@kanani717 actually it's not a bunch of shit. He uses Hungarian minor scales as well as accidentals that fit within the music. so to your "random shit" phrases, it's more like "genius"
wafflesguitarpie 1 year ago 2
@wafflesguitarpie No...it's just shit. Period. Anyone can just string exotic scale shapes to some totaly different musical idea while yelling over it like a gimp.
kanani717 1 year ago
@kanani717 HA! that's what you think. try it yourself. it's gonna be even worse. I've been studying music theory since 1rst grade. (that was a decade ago) I can't do what this man has done. It sounds like insanity but the depth to it is just pure genious
wafflesguitarpie 1 year ago
@wafflesguitarpie Yes you could, because it's all just exotic/silly shit strung together (which is why it sounds terrible). It might take time sort out, but yeah, anyone with time can write a Mr.Bunghole song.
Thats my problem with many progressive/experimental musicians, they spend so much time thinking about what they can put together that they disregaurd whether they should or not...they don't care about art or music, they only care about showing what's possible to do (w/ some exceptions)
kanani717 1 year ago

Mr. Bungle doesn't want the crowd to dance at all, they just want them to stand there and watch.. they always say that in there interviews and stuff, that's why they refuse to play songs like squeeze me, and girls of porn.
