ok then, so I am a huge sabbath fan and found this and after reading comments gave it a fair chance,,,, and yes the piano starts out great, but he speeds up way too fast and uses piano keys for drumming and it just doesnt match up. I think it could be phenomenal if he slowed it down. Almost sounded like an old west mechanical music piano. Oh well back to the original to hear way it is supposed to be !! RLTW !!!

@estranged2010 If you can check out the Use Your Illusion DVD they did, I don't remember where, but before one song, they play a little part from "Mother" from Pink Floyd... It's basically just Slash popping a couple licks from the song and then Axl who sings "Mother should I build a wall ?"... aside from that, they did Wild Horses a couple times on stage, and they did Live and Let Die and Knocking on Heaven's Door on their Use Your Illusion albums, and the whol Spaghetti Incident album.
@estranged2010 I forgot too, they did a cover of Let It Be in '93 in Argentina, it's basically just piano and Slash on guitar, it starts with the song and after that Slash plays what could possibly be one of his best solo ever, longest solo too... It's mind-blowing, even though the quality is not perfect... Check it out on YouTube, it's worth it !
Cover songs should always bring something new to the table, and give you a new perspective on a great song, or rework a lousy song that had something hidden. I know some will disagree, but the Sabbath original was a meandering mess that feels strained throughout, despite a very nice Iommi solo. Axl took an awkward song, stripped it down and made it awesome. It's all the more welcome because it's unexpected from him. (Not that Axl's ever had any trouble doing the unexpected.)
You know, watching this video almost pisses me off. It's depressing that I was only born in the 90's and missed out. I wish I would have been around for the real GNR and all the others. But what does OUR generation get? Lil Wayne and Justin Bieber. They can go suckadickanddie.

I think this is probably one of the best covers of Black Sabath's It's Alright and come on Axel & GnR playing this song is a real nod to a great band for their influence on GnR.

I didnt really know it was covers though until i heard ain't it fun wasnt an original and i looked into it cause aint it fun is a fuckin great song but i dont know the rest of the album is bad for my expectations of a Guns n' roses album but i guess not that bad in general.

@estranged2010 If you can check out the Use Your Illusion DVD they did, I don't remember where, but before one song, they play a little part from "Mother" from Pink Floyd... It's basically just Slash popping a couple licks from the song and then Axl who sings "Mother should I build a wall ?"... aside from that, they did Wild Horses a couple times on stage, and they did Live and Let Die and Knocking on Heaven's Door on their Use Your Illusion albums, and the whol Spaghetti Incident album.

@estranged2010 I forgot too, they did a cover of Let It Be in '93 in Argentina, it's basically just piano and Slash on guitar, it starts with the song and after that Slash plays what could possibly be one of his best solo ever, longest solo too... It's mind-blowing, even though the quality is not perfect... Check it out on YouTube, it's worth it !

Cover songs should always bring something new to the table, and give you a new perspective on a great song, or rework a lousy song that had something hidden. I know some will disagree, but the Sabbath original was a meandering mess that feels strained throughout, despite a very nice Iommi solo. Axl took an awkward song, stripped it down and made it awesome. It's all the more welcome because it's unexpected from him. (Not that Axl's ever had any trouble doing the unexpected.)

You know, watching this video almost pisses me off. It's depressing that I was only born in the 90's and missed out. I wish I would have been around for the real GNR and all the others. But what does OUR generation get? Lil Wayne and Justin Bieber. They can go suckadickanddie.

@HighlyBored I agree. This generation of mainstream music is terrible. The just sign some kid, with not talent, who can't write his own lyrics, but put a little auto-tone on his voice and he's selling out show's full of teen girls. Sad really. Alteast we stil got Aerosmith, Rolling Stone, Motley Crue, Guns 'N Roses, Alice Cooper, KISS and more older Rock artist still arund touring the world. Wish I could have lIved through the day's of Rock N' Roll being popular. Thank God for Youtube.

Sometimes when somebody in my age asks me what do I listen to and I answer Led Zeppelin, Guns N' Roses or Jimi Hendrix, they have no idea who I'm talkin about, even though these are artists who have shaped rock n' roll. And then I feel just so pissed, sad and disappointed, couse how that's even possible to be such ignorant having Pitbul, Rihanna etc. on your playlist?!

As for me, Axl's voice is just fucking marvelous, but he does not pay much attention to it. Many GNR songs could sound a hundred times better, though they still rock! I mean, listen to Don't Cry. Why didn't he do the same vocal thing on November Rain for instance?
