@hello7854 He was helping him get some dirt out of his eye. Really nice lad that Burger chap. Speaking of the Lions tour, did you know that if the Lions win every tour they play against the Boks from now on, they will draw equal with the Boks in 2057. Burn?
Lol... I'm an american but Polish by birth. Rugby is a much more entertaining sport to watch, but there are those few moments in Am. Football that carry quite a sense of enjoyment.
I wish we had Armitage. As it stands we will have to make do with Earl Rose, JPP or Fourie. It should have been between Terblanche, Kirchner or Ludik. What a sad predicament to say the least. Earl Rose, the "Tiger Woods of rugby"... pfff!
hey blitzbok. one day when we are old men, and most of the old south africa is dead, hopefully the blacks will love rugby as much as football. With them we are far stronger. If the price we have to pay is to select some players to keep the masses happy for now, so be it. I have never been so I don't know for sure, but brazillians come in all flavours just like south africa does, and I have never heard colour mentioned. Thats the future, sit tight for now :)
I hope so. My biggest hope is that hosting FIFA 2010 will ignite something positive and lasting, kind of instill a greater sense of national pride. Rugby was a big step, but a lot of blacks hate rugby, so maybe football can be the common ground we need. Of course, it would help if Bafana could start winning, lol.
But rugby is a better TEAM game. In football, it's the QB, your skill players and your best defensive player getting the headlines. Maybe the kicker and o-line, but only when they're crap.
In rugby, all 15 have just as much headlines because all 15 have just as important a role. I love the images of the scrum and the lineout and I love the atmosphere in internationals(especially England and Wales).
I've played both sports, and trust me it doesn't matter whether you're playing rugby, American football, baseball or freaking cricket. A team is a team, period. No sports is ever about headlines.
Agreed, rugby does rely far more heavily on interaction between players. Taking the ball into contact, cleaning out rucks, set pieces, defensive patterns. But that's not to say football is an individualistic sport. We've seen some teams with big names fail because of poor team dynamics.

I think in rugby, players need a more all round skill sets and fitness, whereas in AF, players are more specialised.
