Cheryl's voice does not suit this song yes she can sing but, it would have been a better vocal harmony if she had sung a key higher, at times her voice was lower than his and it just didn't sound right to me, however it was a good performance there were no major issues and yes she could have had better chemistry on stage during the duet

Thing is, Gary is trying to connect with Cheryl, but she's only connecting to the microphone. :)) This song is very emotional and I feel like Cheryl thinks she's alone on the stage. She completely ingores Gary. And I don't think their voices suit, because Gary's voice is wonderful, but Cheryl just can't sing. It's time to accept that she is pitch deaf. :)) <3 Snow Patrol!

Just listened to the original with Martha Wainright. My goodness there is no competition, this version far exceeds the original. I'm deeply amused by the lead singers change in style. Sorry, but it is really annoying the way she drags out the lyrics. She may be beautiful, and she may be able to carry a tune, but that does not mean that she did a great job on this song. Martha and Gary had better chemistry, and their vocals meshed well together. I even prefer the performance Gary did with that Jenson, or Jansen lady (I can't remember her name at the moment). It flows so much better than this.
