  • its not ment to be like a permanent home just temporary/transport so as far as smell goes it should b fine long as u keep it clean

  • Do you find it smelly ? since the only place air go trough is from top...

  • hey instead of sanding the lid down you could always use a lighter to melt the edges probably be faster and easier. just a thought

  • Haha your kid in the background is precious.

Thanks for this video. i need a place to keep my 2 baby girls while i introduce them to my 2-year old rat besides a teeny hamster cage.

  • what are u using to cut the plastic?

  • a lot of people need to watch this instead of going out to buy 50- 200 dollar cages for ther furry pets

  • could somebody make it two levals or three with a bigger boxe and mke it a permanent rat cage

  • @WickedlyEpic10 i know this is really old, but if your still wondering. yes you can, you just have to make sure to wash it alot and that its big enough for them.

  • Where did you get that wire mesh? I've looked everywhere locally and can't find any like it........

  • @xiage965

It looks like PVC covered hardware cloth, you can find it in most Home Depots, especially in summer. If you're near a Tractor Supply Store they should have it, some smaller hardware stores should have it. Alternatively look online.... although it can be expensive because of shipping.

  • Hi, um could you please reply ASAP?! If I wanted to keep my hamster in this for her usual cage would that be okay? Thanks sooooooo much!

  • what is the size of the rubbermaid container?

  • how well does this type of cage work. Could i use this type of cage for like 7 months. This will be one for my rats to live in and another for the babies to be born in.

  • Nice, good job.Very creative...

  • i also know from experence that works better to have 2 rats in one one cage.

One mother feeds durning the day and one durning the nite - they learn to take turns caren for the young...

  • I thought I was the only one who velcro-ed bottles to cages. Haha. I have a mouse that I keep in a 10 gallon tank and I velcro his bottle to the cage.

  • Wow thanks.

  • Wow thanks

  • Thanks!!

  • thanks!!! me and my dad are making some of these for my rats!!! :D

  • muito legal

    saudações do brasil

  • I can't wait to get my rats

  • you should cut a hole in the chicken wire so the mother can get away to sleep because at about a half a week the cubs start shasing the mother orund for milk the mother will not run away because of instict. i know thiis from exsperence.

  • or you could just take her out to play.....

  • @etanna was thinking the same lol, or you could just buy a hamster cage :L there like £20

  • while this a a nice cage you posted about, that price does not include a water bottle/bedding making mine cheaper still

  • they are easy enough to make and the cost to ship them or whatever wouldn't be worth people buying them when they are so easily made. so i never thought about it.
