I went to the Perth one. A lot of commonsense was spoken, but I think you have to get past people's greed over here in WA. The mining industry, Chamber of Commerce, Real Estate industry etc, they're all pushing for population growth. Big donatations to political parties might be a reason no major party wants to dabate population.

As gratifying as this media interview was to us and our cause (and on the ABC, no less- how times have changed!) Virginia's wrong to assume that migrants and their children will be all about keeping immigration high (2:15). I think of a friend fresh out of China, an admirer of SPA, who says "The population in China is a burden! Australia should learn from other countries' mistakes!"

And BTW, the Sydney breakfast was a great success... We've seldom heard such sense at 7:30 in the morning!
