  • "Loyalty, Loyalty, Loyaltyyyyy." haha. Jk. But these boys were amazing!!

  • Thank you retrorhythms for posting, this is so great! Never heard Riff, but very talented. And Stevie.... :)

  • THAT LIGHT SKIN ONE IS A SHORTY

  • I went to school with these guys..

  • Love this music! And with Frankie? it doesn't get much better. Thanks!

  • Good as that man sang, he oughtta been able to see for at least a couple days afterwards. Lawdamercy!!!

  • Take 6 did this song before and they can do it 100 times better than this group! Stevie always sounds good though!

  • Yeah but BOTH groups sound far better than ANYTHING TODAY!

  • although this version is good they did one on da arsenio halls show w/o stevie wonders and it was way better i mean like much more better

  • It was Take 6's arrangement.

It's not like RIFF was tryiing to compete with Take 6. I'm sure they enjoyed their music and decided to sing the song.

And the mortician looking announcer did say this was impromptu, did he not?

  • @ShangoJamal I gave your comment a thumbs up 'cause I immediately recognized this cut from "Take 6's" self titled first album. Man this takes me back! That was a lanmark recording for me, and it totally blew me away! I searched for at least 6 months before I could even find it on vinyl or cassette (this was way before CDs came out :)

Anyway, I'll always have mad luv for Stevie and Riff! It was totally awesome to see them perform this classic jam together.

I was just thinkin' what if...?

  • Stevie... voice of an angel on earth

  • Those are 6 great-looking guys.

I'm a big fan of Stevie and Riff was a good group.

The harmony is impeccable and I just love this version. Great stuff.

    Thanks for the post.

  • You're welcome. It was an awesome combination of talent, for sure!

  • @retrorhythms Do you have the interview with Frankie and Stevie? Thanks.
