  • I'm totally gonna go to a club and dance like the middle guy at 0:35

  • Rebirth,......of the bat. }:-)

  • Damn, terry was my hero. When i was a kid. ;p

  • i love the way Bruce looks like in the opening. kinda realistic.

  • to me this is the ultimate spiderman version of batman

  • My childhood hero... Why the hell did we all have to grow up...

  • Comment removed

  • My Dad Goes This looks Stupid If Only he Knew

  • I was addicted to this show as a kid because it was like no other!!

It was dark, but still tasteful.

it was like.....the dark chocolate of my childhood cartoons. ;)

  • my childhood... fuck the news cartoons!

  • this was the most badass cartoon of my childhood :)

  • Do anyone know where could I get a subttiles for Batman beyond and animated series in english?? PLEASE..

  • @tunicniekonematei You buy the dvd boxes they have xD

  • Ok who else thinks they should do either a movie video game or live action tv series of this?

  • We had something as awesome as this but now we have the crap that is the brave and the bold

  • I just remembered how much of a kid show this wasn't

  • the theme song is so fuckin awesome!!

  • Batman Beyond > Batman: The Brave and the Bold

  • what we need is a Batman Beyond video game! :D

we REALY, simply MUST have a BMB VG! TT~TT

  • @clampfan101 There was one. It was for the PS1 and PC if I'm not mistaken. I used to have it, you had to fight like mutated creatures.

  • love that martial art part at 0:28

  • Gives me goosebumps.

  • Dosnt he looks like leonardo di capreo at 00:15...i always used to think of him playing d role of terry, when i used to watch this show as a child...

  • most bad ass cutting edge chilling and frightning batman ever created well for tv anyway

  • Fuck this takes me back lolol I loved Batman Beyond. The show was definitely amazing for a spinoff series of the original Batman I think. And the intro always got me pumped. I loved the intro so much, the industrial rock type music definitely worked for it, especially those sick guitar riffs. This show was just too awesome. = )

  • terry needed to bulk up? did u ppl see him without his suit on, his arms were huge! lol

  • I honestly think that if they ever need to update Batman's suit to look less silly in this day and age, Terry's suit would be the perfect template for them to work off of. It has the Batman factor to it, while avoiding him prancing around in underwear. It just looks /good/.

  • Nothing beats the original batman the animated series but I think this cartoon was still rad! I didn't think Terry needed to bulk up because he had the sneaky/swift factor to him plus he was still a teenager... Over all I love it! =-)

  • i liked terry he wasnt trying to be bruce he was his own batman but considering that that the mainstream continuity makes writes terry off by having dick take over for bruce i guess its a pointless arguement

  • Batman: TAS is possibly the greatest cartoon ever made.

Batman: The New Adventures was ok.

    Batman Beyond kicked ass.

    The Batman sucked.

Batman: Brave and the Bold is awesome if you're in the mood for a campy golden-age style Batman.

  • @CCrockyourass The Question is the only great thing about the batman

  • @CCrockyourass wtf! The Batman was badass!!!! and the movie batman vs. dracula was the shit!

  • thumbs up if you almost didn't watch the show due to the dancing at 0:28

  • Hey i grew up watching this show & other 90's & early 2000 cartoons & i turned out alright. But these show nowadays are killing the imagination of young people today. i guess my generation was the last to enjoy good cartoons & saturday morning cartoons.

  • I can understand where your coming from, the old school batman was alot better, this series was good, but the only thing I really loved about it was the opening theme and the feature length movie "Return of the Joker."

But, still a good series, better than some crap you get nowadays, e.g: Brave and the Bold, UGH! DX

  • All child-oriented networks should only air new shows if:

    1) The show(s) get high ratings after 15 episodes then airs new episodes 3 months later while re-airing the old episodes

    2) Make around 6-10 new episodes, w/ more ratings, and make them wait another 3 months. Upon good ratings, repeat previous steps for the new seasons.

    3) Then when the show gets boring, remove it from the network for 3 months to let it's slot be taken by another new show

    4) When fans miss the old show, SWITCH THE SHOWS!

  • Cyberpunk World :)

  • i luved this batman soooooooo much, it was my fav

now my lil brothers r recording every episode every night on kix

im still waiting 4 the very 1st one though, does anybody know where i can watch the first batman episodes???

  • I wish that whole series in full lenght episodes would appear again on youtube

  • i wish they would remake this series it was good i prefer this over the old school batman and the gay cartoons now in days like chowder n adventure time those ld cartoons they fail this is good.

  • Guess what everybody apperently sometime next year there going to start making new episodes of Batman Beyond again.

    NO LIE!!

  • @rhymenoceros3303 lol its been so long since the series ended, i hope they just reboot the entire series, and have terry bulk up and shorten the ears lol, when i look at batman beyond in the series he looks so skinny looking but when i look at him in the intros/opening for the shows he looks like a cat lol. the series was ok but i hate the whole future thing, with blasters, and killer robots and stuff, the original batman tas will always be the best!

  • @rhymenoceros3303 really, where did you get that from, ive been researchin and all i can find is that their making comics thats all. but i am waiting for the day they make more episodes.

  • I feel bad for kids these days with their smallvilles and their wolverines and the x-men...

  • this series was kick ass it was a great continuation and they kept bruce and kevin conroy as the voice which rocked and the guy who plays terry has done some awesome voices, i like how this show has enuendo and it was very dark, i also love how mister freeze returned in one ep and joker came back in a movie and bat girl is the commisioner etc lot of throw backs, i just finished watching the first 8 eps from net flix

  • Thumbs up if you think "The Batman" is crap compared to original+beyond story lines.

  • @scientolofag the batman animated series is crap compared to batman TAS, and beyond. lol

  • Thats some sexy dancing

  • i never knew will friedle voiced batman beyond lol

  • Dam 1999? how long did the show run?

  • Hot freaking intro.

  • batman beyond, batman the animated series, and justice league where the best cartoon shows that I ever watched! It's a lot better than the crap that they have out there.

  • LOVE IT

  • batman is the coolest :) Also i think this idea is fantastic :)

  • Hmm. I know this as Batman forever.

  • @RamboZsolt it was called batman of the future outside the USA

  • @ninjachipzanuff Oh yeah, Batman of the Future. Just didnt remember well.

  • EPIC!

  • one of the bigggest problems i i noticed was tht he was too skinny

  • Love this show! Looked forward to this and Spiderman Unlimited every weekend!

  • I freaking loved this show as a kid. I still like it a lot, I didn't realize then how cool the concepts/aesthetics/villains of the show were.

  • I think they should make a sequel to this series. Does anyone remember the Justice League episode "Epilogue"? I think the sequel should begin right after that episode.

  • I loved this opening as a kid. And I'm a fairly big fan of StaticX. And when I found out they were the ones who did the opening music it blew my mind.

  • What is the name of the soundtrack?

  • This show speaks volumes in todays society and economy.

  • it sure does

  • joshiro007x, thanks for putting this up, but surely you must like some aspects of the series. It was very dark and was no where as disney-esque as some of the cartoons they show today

  • You're welcome =) I didn't mean to sound like i hated the series, because i don't. I should've just said it was only ok to me because I prefer watching old school Batman. I agree it was dark and not at all retarded like the cartoons i see these days.

  • cough cough Batman the brave and the bold....

  • lol not that old

  • i say that batman show really degrades the name batman imo brave and the bold is a junk show useing batman just 2 sell it 2 the viewers never watched more then the 1st few mins of the 1st episode -_-

  • @playstationM gag me

  • @playstationM yeh i recon nowa days there making cartoons realli childish. they have no meaning or understanding to them.the kids wouldnt learn anyfink from watching the cartoons on nowa days except how to be weird lol

  • THIS SHOW WAS THE SHIT!

Man this show was just as dark as the other paul dini version, and thats a good thing, i loved how it had that sortta sexy futuristic type thing goin on. I miss this show D=

  • say dose anyone know whats "Apathy" mean???

  • Lack of feeling or emotion / Lack of interest or concern.

  • @CutieMikell

it's coming from the greek word "απαθεια" (apathia in english) which stands for someone or sth who is not doing anything.

  • This was the best new batman idea ever done, its not just a re hash of the old one and bruce wayne is still featured as part of the team

  • This intro is the best intro out of all the DC animated universe intros.

  • oh man.. i forgot how effin bad ass the song was in this intro.. i love superman more then anything.. but this intro smokes the hell out of any before present future superman intro

  • you know this intro is cleaver with the words that show up. its shows how Bruce wayne is JUSTICE (as superman is HOPE and wonder woman is TRUTH), but instead of making terry JUSTICE also, they make him COURAGE AND HONOR..since only bruce can be justice.

    quite suttle yet clever.!!!

  • speaking of serial killers; in that Marvel/DC crossover, the fight between Batman and punisher? Damn that was brutal.....

  • @stardingo747 That fight was the shit XD

  • the history of the urban western world in only one minute. Minus the "honor" and "hope" stuff.

    simply brilliant.

there needs to be a serial killer of corporate executives and politicians, and the people who protect them. Wish serial killers would kill people who deserve it for once.

  • I don't know why it's also known as Batman of the future. the credit name is just changed, but the content of the opening the same.

  • yeh for some reason, in the UK its known as Batman of the future..which is how i know this show to be.

i think for americans they just used a simpler name for americans to understand with beyond.

like how they did with harry potter and the PHILOSOPHERS stone.

  • You are comparing Apples to Oranges.

    A book title versus a show/movie title.

Most show/movie titles are changed when they are sent overseas because of the language difference.

With the book title. You have to think of how American's are with content. Sorceror is considered "Evil" and is more associated to witchcraft that a Philosopher.

Yea. It's stupid.. but it's something about American parents being Paranoid about their children's veiwing and reading habits.

  • my broad statement pretty much covered what you just said.

  • No...it was originally "Batman of the future" in America, but I think they changed it because "Batman BEYOND" sounded cooler.

  • if you say so...

  • the episode featuring Bane's upgraded steroids WERE accurate though, there is yet, another reason that crap will mess you up. Testosterone in males, doesn't just affect skeletal muscle, it influences the muscles of the heart, as well as the muscles that control breathing. If a chemical inbalance is created, the heart muscles can become so weak, it can't effectively pump blood, and the lung muscles so weak, a person needs a respirator like the character Bane did.

  • fuck is "respirator" even a word?

    better google it.

  • The slickest, darkest and sexiest DCAU series. I'm still amazed by some of the stuff they got away with on this one.

I remember when my Mom first saw the opening for this, she was repulsed. "Why are they dancing like THAT? This seems a bit unsuitable..." Oh Mom...

  • Its why they took it off the air; some of the stuff was too strong for kids.

I have a "little brother" who watched this when he was little; he tunes in to watch, mom walks in and she's like "why are you letting him watch that!?"

The episode featuring "venom," that super steroid Bane uses, was particularly strong I thought.

  • LOVE this series.

In the process of buying the DVD sets now. Love the animation.

  • dude i was sorry there weren't more episodes and i like this batman he gives me a spidey feeling you know a bit young energetic and trying the best he can

  • are they going every make new ep ?

  • How did Bruce wayne actuallly die anyway? i mean we all know that hes gotten old but how did Bruce Wayne die

  • he doesnt die atleast not on screen.

  • man they shouldn't cancel this show.i wanted to know if bruce was terry's true father and they should have and the robin of the futere in the series.

  • Bruce was genetically part of Terry yes, but he wasn't his father because he didn't raise him as his son, or even knew he exsisted until much later in his life.

  • those words on the into shows whats good and evil

    Apathy

    Greed

    Corruption

    Power

    Hope

    Courage

    Honor

    Justice

  • "good and evil"? the world is nowhere near that black and white

  • hmph

You obviously don't get out that much, do you?

  • and with an sn like yours, you do?

  • man i loved this show :D... was a staple growing up along with BTAS and superman. and my friend thought apathy was a bad word XD..

  • Love that intro. Loved the show a lot when I was a kid.

  • This is one of those intros that's so good, that I felt gypped when I watched the actual show. Older series like "Jonny Quest" (1964) and "The Six Million Dollar Man" had the same problem: They just couldnt deliver on the excitement their intros promised.

  • I hope that helps clear it up Windclaw :)

  • B B is my fave batman series!! =D

    Terry<33

  • Thank you for uploading this.

  • dude this theme is so sick it reminds me of something rob zombie would do. before u get all judgmental on my ass consider the more human than human remix by rob zombie and (NIN)

  • So many GOOD shows were cancelled. Batman Beyond and the New Batman Superman adventures.

  • SEE THE OLD BRUCE WAYNE IS COOL

  • Still the GREATES hero on the "Fake" planet, Superman is cool, but dude its Batman...

  • At one time there was a rumor about putting a robin on the show. I think he was going to be the son of Dick Greyson, but the idea was scrapted

  • Terry has a nicer costume than Bruce.. XP

  • it's not as nice as the one from the dark knight

  • true

  • oh and terrys also in another episode of justice league

when wonderwoman and batman and gl go back in time<3

    MY FAV EPISODE<3

and i loved batman beyond becuz it had to do with the animated series<3

  • MINE TOO!!!! And you see the JOkerz with their awsome little Supey Powers!

    Yay Deeds/Ghoul

  • one of the few comic book/TV series that takes place in the future and is actually good. (looks and glares at marvel 2099)

  • I loved Batman Beyond, not because of how Terry could become a better Batman, but also because of the modernising of issues in the future world. Like gene technology (splicers), corporations, mind control, angsty teenagers, peer pressure, and family issues (Terry, his brother, and their mom).

It was as dark as BTAS, and that's all I could have hoped for, and had the same kind of message ending at end of the episode.

  • I thought Batman Beyond's batman was pretty cool, not as cool as bruce wayne's batman but still a good character in his own right.

  • it my be true that its for teens and up because of some of the not really obvious jokes but it is still my fave show!!!

  • I don't know why some people didn't like Terry. He made a great Batman. The series did a good job of showing what happens to Bruce in old age and how he intended on keeping the Batman legend alive. That show rocked!

  • Plus he looks alot like Bruce in "Epilogue".

  • In Epilogue it's revealed Bruce is real genetic father.

  • Bruce was his father? I missed too much of this awesome show.

  • Bruce is not his real father, Terry's father was killed by Blight in the first episode, and terry was getting chased by the Jokerz ( a mock gang based off of the joker) and guess who terry eventually ran into after the chase? Bruce Wayne of course, and Bruce whooped their asses with his cane ( he used it as a bo staff) and while terry was helping Bruce get his heart medication, he stumbled onto the entrance to the bat cave and saw the newest bat suit, and took it for a joy ride.

  • yea its classic.the original batman helps the new batman

  • Actually Bruce is his real father. Terry's supposed father was injected with bruce's genetic material (rewriting his genitic material into exact copy of bruce wayne's)by Amanda Waller as a part of Project Batman beyond

  • Wrong... watch...Justice League (Unlimited) Epilouge and you will se that Bruce really is his father.

  • @HobbyGameSupport I actually liked Terry and his relationship with Bruce.

  • @coralin378 yeh they made terry a likable character, their all likeable lol

  • I think Terry was a good Batman. He wasn't Bruce Wayne, but so what? I still thought he was cool. The show was actually pretty good. My friends tuned it out because it wasn't Bruce Wayne or the story was too different. But I actually watched it and to be honest, I was impressed. Even though the show wasn't quite as good as Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond most certainly had one of the best intros ever! And it was much darker.

That green skull at 0:51 really scared me, too. XD

  • I like old man Bruce better than the regular Bruce Wayne; Batman may be a "hard" character, but old man Wayne is just plain mean.

    gotta love it.

  • still my favorite show

  • wat??? WHERE THE FUCK DO THEY SELL THE GRAPHIC VERSION OF RETURN OF THE JOKER??

  • Try Zellers or KMart or even your local music/video store. You'd be surprised at where they can be found. ^_^

  • besides stardingo747, this show was meant to be a show for teenagers not little children.

  • wtf ! .. where do you get these stuff T.T

JLU didnt get canceled bro. It ended.

  • I 100% AGREE WITH YOOH

  • WTF??? u the cartoon police all of a sudden???? Batman:TAS was just as dark as BB let the kids watch these cartoons.

  • Actually, only the uncut version of the Joker movie was disturbing to kids. The regular version was not. And TAS in my opinion was the darkest batman cartoon series upto date.

  • well, adults have NEVER been known to opine what kids can and can't watch.

  • Actually, during the 70s, there was an animated show called 'Star Blazers' that also took a 'mature approach' to storytelling despite all the censorship it received. Crew members died in battle, one of them (temporarily) lost his limbs and even *my* young mind knew that wasn't 'spring water' they were drinking.

The world is a harsh place to live in and, IMO, it's better that they learn how to deal with it than be shielded from it.

Don't underestimate your children. They may surprise you. ^_^

  • in a good world, justice is an angel.

in a corrupt world, justice is a demon.

to good people, justice is an angel.

to bad people, justice is a demon.

Hence the symbolism of Batman Beyond, and that world they live in? That sterile corrupt world? That is what our legacy will be to future generations. Things are only going to get worse, assuming this culture even lasts that long that is.

  • Wow, I never thought of it that way. Nice one.

  • great song !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • who did the voice of terry mcginis?

  • it was a dude from boy meets world i forget his name but the character was eric from boy meets world.

  • Will Fridle

  • so good and the music so great, waiting a movie of that, but old batman is better i think

  • overanalyzing as always, and reading "corporation" into it, if anyone has bothered to watch Batman Beyond episodes a lot of the content is too strong for small children. That is probably one of the reasons it was taken off the air.

  • no it wasn't the writers were having a hard time thinking up new stuff for the series+bad demographics=canceled show.

  • Probably. I'm 17 now and watched it when I was about 9-10. Looking back, this show's more for 14+ kids.

  • older than my "little brother."

let me tell you though, watching this with him got me in trouble. lol.

14+ kids? Try "imature comic book geeks;" some of the subject matter is way heavy.

  • who did the voice of Terry? he sounds familiar..

anyone remember Static shock too? I love being this nostalgic ^_^

  • Will Friedle who was Eric Matthews on Boy Meets World did the voice of Terry McGinnis.

  • Will Friedle or better known as Eric Matthews from Boy Meets World

  • You guys wanna know the real reason this show got cancelled? Fellow youtubers, the real reason it got cancelled, is because it talked about corporate corruption. Any time a show, a program, whatever, talks about it, it will get promptly shut down. Look at one of the main villains Blight; he's a former corporate CEO. That alone probably got them into "trouble."

  • ah yeah, before I forget; awesome intro, thanks for posting.

    sorry.

  • Really :O

  • Actually because Bruce Timm and the crew wanted to make Justice League and stopped production for this one in order to produce it.

  • Actually, from what I know, the show's on hiatus. Although there are no real plans for the show in the near future, it wasn't cancelled. It was put on hold for the Justice League animated series.

  • and how justice league avoided any anti corporate tones.

    wasn't that just amazing!?

  • Really? Lex Luthor was the head of a corporation, was he not?
