I just Bought the DVD mainly because im getting into doom metal and thought it would be cool to combine Gothic Styled Clean Intro with the Heavy Doom riffs. I just got one Question, Did you write the music?
It's so great to see someone teaching goth rock guitar! Just bought this, and will no doubt not be getting much sleep tonight. :D I've not been teaching myself guitar for long, and as all I can currently play are tracks from First and Last and Always as well as the odd Mission riff this should hopefully push me along nicely. Thank you so much for making this!
@CannibalCadavere Working okay at my end. Try clearing your browser cache and give it another go. I went back to the previous permalink structure, which might be the reason.Once you've cleared your browser it should work fine.Let me know how you get on.
That he did, I I'd recommend his work in the Silent Hill series, Very much Post-Punk and Goth Rock inspired when it comes to character themes and the such, His ambient work on those games, and several others are actually really nice as well/
@gsogoz That's correct. Though in much of the Silent Hill tracks with a similar vibe to this, he fills out much of it with layered guitar tracks and a bit more gain in his leads. I'd say three of the best examples that have a similar gothic vibe would be "Overdose Delusion" and "Theme of Laura" from Silent Hill 2 and "You're Not Here" from Silent Hill 3 (which I think has kind of a Siouxsie & the Banshees vibe).
Excellent. It's good to see high quality guitar instruction for a much beloved but lesser known genre. I will be buying this. Any chance for a post-punk one in the future possibly featuring sounds and techniques in the vein of Wire, The Chameleons, Gang of Four, Magazine etc. Anyway, nice work.
awesome! you've inspired me to purchase a new axe this year.
I may consider a Gibson SG!!
