man i dont get it. we can get oil without making a huge mess. yankees. you can run perfs then frac, and guess what, you dont hafta spend a hundred thousand dollars cleaning the mess. in canada we aim to NOT get any oil on the ground, but yet they attack our oil sands. looks like you guys are blowing fucking oil all over the place for no reason!!!
David, After a well is drilled a explosive charge is placed down the well and set off hoping to crack the rock open to allow more oil and or gas to flow into the well bore. This is a method that is not used much anymore. Most now use acid to get larger flow rates in limestone pay zones.
@Davidhelms7 Yes this is usually done before any pumping of oil. If you look at one of my other videos you will see the bore hole down 1250ft and see on that well the oil seeping in. We shoot that well and increased the oil. I have another video I hope to put on soon that show what the well bore looks like after a shot. It has a huge crack running up and down the side wall.
@tyoung317 Shooting the perfs is still done but they dont use the charge to open the formation. Normally they will push frac sand into the formation to open them up and keep them open. But for the most part sand is usually only used in new drills. I would say that the big thing to stimulate a well would have to be a big acid frac.
what a gusher

Were dose that oil go back to the ground for the earth to re exorb?

Just wonder how well that would work on shooting off pipe to plug a well.
Drlgco63 1 year ago
@Drlgco63 You would be better to get a wireline company to shoot the pipe off with a shape charge. We have had this done and the cut is very clean.

@Drlgco63 I remember we would shoot off pipe with dynamite or nitro-gel,using a wire line and a torpedo with hooks to catch collars

How much oil per day this well produces ?

Thanks for the answer. So this happens at the beginning, before those pump jacks start extracting the oil, right ?
