Several reasons. Mainly because, in my eyes, after their success with AC1 their main goal for the next game was to earn even more money with it. This caused a shorter release cycle (building a good game takes longer), a stupid copy protection forcing you to be online all time. To me it seems AC2 just added tons of stuff, whether making sense for the gameplay or not, as long as there is (cite) «something for everybody» (i.e. selling more copies). Equal to «do nothing right».

@Granjew Well maybe you do not how to play the game proeprly. Your idea of the longer it takes to create a game the better it will be is not true. Its planning and organising that males a good game. Words of a wise man.

I agree with you. but its not that the developers of

the game are greedy. just too many people downloading

the game cuts their well earned paychecks. thats

why the online copy protection on AC2.

using pirate games and programs is like

leaving a restaurant without paying or something...

if too many people did that aswell you would probably

see signs "you have to be chained to the table while you eat" in restaurants :D

I actually doubt that the AC2 developers have anything to do with the copy protection. Their job is to get the game running. The guys further above at Ubisoft will be the greedy ones; the ones which already have a lot of money.

Sure – I don't support playing commercial games without buying them either. But kicking the paying guest in his ass when he leaves the restaurant whileas the pirate is enjoying the same meal in the broom closet is not the nice way.

some of these won't work until you have gone far enough into the story. for example, you can't do the "grab ledge" move until you finish a mission somewhere in block 3 or 4 i think. once ur almighty master gives you some leather gloves as a "gift", you can do it.
