Wow, deep house. I first heard non top 40 music when I was 16. I was into Goth/Mod/Alternative at the time but I saw as "rave music" et al. I drove home from work one late night and chanced upon a college station playing deep house. The track that caught me was Tarenah - Psychedelic Reasearch Lab.. Bring on US house.

The song kicking in at 4'30" is Central Living's "Inside"; it can be found on Bare Essentials 2, that's what Lisa herself told me. IMHO, It sure sounds much better here, though. Much funkier.
