  • No offence but did your grandfather steal them? cuz if he did thats a crime.

  • @waffenss893

    Of all things to steal...

"Give me that belt buckle! That party pin is mine! Conquest of the Czechs? I don't think so!"

  • @WaffenMitUns Now i mean come on most soldiers ripped the medals and badges off the german soldiers. In your vid u show an iron cross 2nd class, war merits cross 2nd class, the war merit medal and a wound badge in silver+general assult badge and the costal flak badge. So what your saying is yes he stole them? or did u buy the decorations?. Im only saying this cuz those were someones medals i wouldnt like it if some canadian stole my grandfather medals.

  • @waffenss893

They were probably obtained legitimately. Keep in mind, captured soldiers were tossing their medals and badges... and even defacing them. There were no shortage of these when the war ended.

  • Nice collection!

  • WOW if i just had one medal or a badge i would be the happiest man on earth.....youre so lucky, you dont even know it...:))))

  • I should also say that some of what you have is made out of zinc, and if zinc isn't stored in a dry environment it will rot. and when it starts you can't reverse it.... so protect and take care of it. Its a great collection and you should be proud of it

  • I just noticed that it looks like someone tried to halfheartedly denazify that high seas fleet badge..... if thats the case it would cut the value of the badge by 2/3... it had to be the most valuable badge in the collection too.... I just hope its heavy wear though.

  • @TRcollector

Wow I have never noticed that until now... Somebody must have screwed with it.

  • @WaffenMitUns at least who ever did it didn't totally remove it, or damage the rest of the badge.......so it might only cut the value in half or by 1/3.... the range is hard to determine with denazified badges. it all depends of the rarity of the badge and the extent of the denazification..... it's still a very nice badge.... and those early high seas fleets are hard to come by.

  • @TRcollector

Yeah, it is interesting that nothing else seemed to be damaged on the badge. Someone not pleased with the Third Reich must have taken their time with it...

Of all things in that collection someone had to mess around with!

  • @WaffenMitUns My guess is it was probably worn it a prisoner of war camp..... and got denazified there.... I've heard stories of soldiers doing that sort of thing .

  • @TRcollector

That is a plausible scenario. There are not many reasons why a badge like that would suffer from such a modification.

  • Great collection!!! Most of them are tinnies from party rallies and day badges, but 2:55 is a silver wound badge, the GAB at 3:31 is a great looking late war R.K made General Assault Badge. The one at 4:14 is a nice Coastal Artillery Badge, The one at 5:26 is a police cap badge, 6:16 is a Czech annexation medal, 6:29 is the cherry of the collection. It looks like and early war High Seas Fleet and they are worth quite a bit! 8:15 is a Hitler youth proficiency badge as well as 8:58
