Can anyone advise what to check if the Xbox doesn't power up and the power supply to the box checks good. Is there something inside that can be checked such as PC Board surface fuse, etc.? It was working fine and my son accidentally kicked it with his face during his excitement while playing a game.
Can anyone help me? My xbox says unreadable disc about every disc i own even ones that i install to the hard drive. I know its not my disc drive because i downloaded the Madden 12 demo and it said unreadable disc. I also know its not my hard drive because it does it when no memory devices are connected any help would be greatly appreciated.
@danthemanzizzle Whenever a game is made for the 360, the software is custom tailored to run on that specific hardware (the 360), so the performance is consistently good. As where when a game is ran on PC, depending on the specs, may perform proorly or godly, depending on what hardware the game was developed on. Just one of the benefits of going to console when playing video games. Consistency.
@fluffboyjr12 We spell it the same way, "solder", but americans commonly pronounce it "sodder", in all my years of tech experience, I've never once heard it pronounced a different way. I guess it's the same as how Brits say "Al yoo min ee um", and Amercians say "Ah Loo min num" ...different countries mate.
@faustballs never experienced that problem, it is probably a diode or a fuse somewhere on that line between the connectors and the processor. Is it all 3 usb ports? or just the front ports?
@AFKCPU seeing it doesent have a "graphics card" so to say. and it does not connect via PCI and most importantly it does not have any video outputs that your computer would be interested in. no
@jj9528 It's not "built in" so to speak, it's just soldered on to main board, bypassing the need for an express PC card slot. And the graphics are great.
@maxbrokeaway I understand now about what they did to there GPU. But as "great" As the graphics might be for a 5-6 year old console I have to stick to PC gaming sense it shits on xbox lmao anyways good video
@jj9528 Of course new PCs are able to power stronger graphics. My gaming PC at hom can smoke my 360, hands down. But for a 5 year old console, the xbox is still pumping out some very killer looking games that PERFORMANCE WISE are more reliable than that of a PC. Can't take that away from them.
love what your doin here bro i just recently did the x clamp fix on my old xbox and did a bunch of upgrades including the fan youve got but ill hit you up if i have any troubles ....and yea haha 12v or go home with an extremely hot heatsink lol
Xbox 360 are soo fun to fix/modify =] I'm currently in the process of fixing two Xbox's, one has a bad DVD Drive, simple cleaning fix, the other displays no video, soo I'm just guessing that I have to clean up the GPU and/or CPU. if you have any suggestions can you please tell me?? =]
@XvEmoKittyvX No video could be a number of things, first thing I would try is a new A/V cable...Remember, whenever you troubleshoot, start with the simplest option first, and work your way up.
@maxbrokeaway I did a reflow in the HANA or ANA (I forgot what it was called) and on the GPU. I used a heat gun to do the reflow and it fixed the problem.
@netteam4 not too expensive i think less than 20 but its called a 2nd gen gpu heatsink and you can get em on ebay all day ...and they are about intermediate id say ...youve gotta reapply heat paste (or atleast i would) after either removing the xclamps completely or just putting them back on (do what max did)
@blackoil911 I don't know...my video is about the xbox 360 internals...I think you commented on the wrong video, hit the "Back" button to get back to your gay porn.
I have ordered a Talismoon Whisper Legacy Fan from ebay. I haven't received the product yet.
I want to know does this fan really cool the system or its just smart talk? Moreover, does it really increases the life of the 360 by preventing RROD to some extent?
Does this fan have any other side effects.
I will be highly obliged if u can answer these questions.
NOTE: I am not worried about voiding the warranty.
If I were you, I would just keep the Jasper stock and save the warranty. The Jaspers are supposed to run much cooler due to the size of the GPU being reduced...so I don't believe a whisper max fan will prolong the life of your console. Plus they are much noisier. The Whisper max fans are great for pre-Jasper consoles due to the heat they disperse...but a Jasper should be just fine without it.
@maxbrokeaway I need some help. My nitro switch broke on my Talismoon and I left the fan in the xbox. When I power it on it seems like the fan starts to speed up in RPMs and after 2 minutes I get 2 red lights telling me it's overheating. Is the problem the fan? Maybe since the switch is broken it's causing another problem with the xbox
They need more PC like cooling in there. I'm a freak about keeping my PC cool. Ever thing about some kind of dust filters. A really thin felt or foam would work. Again, same as they use on quallity PC cases like Coolermaster.
Question? can you put the Talismoon Whisper Legacy Cooling Fan and the xcm core coolers v2 together because i know that they both use the sata* cable so i was just wondering?
Good video man but I wouldve suggested to NOT remove the X clamps because they help hold the form of the motherboard. Also, you didn't need to put all those heat synks on the front side. If you put a conductor on the x-clamp side, it will save you alot of work and you wouldn't need an extra fan. FOOD JOB
great idea! I simply bought a bulk RROD kit from Ebay and these are the screws that came with it...but your idea would make my life alot easier!! Thanks!
i can tell you that you not going to notice a difference in db coming from the fans if you install the whisper max fans and run them at 5v...the sound from the dvd drive will drown out the stock fans or the talismoon at 5v...so if all your looking to do is make it quiter...then don't waste your money. People get whisper max for the 12v speed which greatly increases the systems cooling capability
I wish someone would perform a proper db/cfm test on the talismoon fans vs stock delta fans. Ive always considered buying them to quiet my system a little, but Im skeptical over how well they really perform against the stockers, when not in 12volt mode.

Just to let you in on a little easier screw to use later, they are flat slot machine screws 1032 x 1/2 plated.
You don't need to cut out holes in the chassis case.
