@yodaddyxx ohh its chocking him all right. take judo and get put in that choke its waaaaaaay worse than a triangle. It's basically a thick color wrapped around your neck so basically tie a rope around someones neck and pull to give you a idea. Works in a 1v1 street fight with a shirt collar 2
There is a problem in the caption on this video... they call it Ude garami... which is the correct name for the "kimura" arm bar.... what the sensei calls the choke is "ire jime" wich means lapel choke. Sensei in video had it right
This is a deadly choke. For anyone praticing it for the first time take a lower grip on the lapel so you don't choke the crap out of your uke, since it will tighten as you roll over. (I made that mistake lol)
@27albrecht that is because you were not taught how to exercise control in executing your techniquees and the rule that safety comes first ny your teacher. If you continue with out being taught safety concepts you will wind up seriuosly injuring your training partner and ir killing them and wind up with criminal charges being brought against you. I have saw this happen in my 30 years of training and teaching in various martial arts. your teacher should have taught you this rule.
@sanucues I was taught safety and how to exercise control from the very first lesson, something I take very seriously. The dojo assistant who was teaching us this particular choke either didn't see how high my grip was, or forgot how tight the choke could get. My training partner wasn't injured, just had to endure a nasty choke for a few moments.
This choke is called the Kick Choke, also the English choke. It works quite well, especially after someone has failed to throw you with something like a Drop Seoi Nage. I know someone that wins with it in Judo tournaments all the time. It's his favorite technique.
I use it all the time and is extremely effective in getting quick taps. I feel bad using this choke because 90% of the time, it's more of a pain submission because of the extreme leverage you can get.
You can even get a pain submission when your opponent's chin is tucked under the lapel because of the sheer amount of force applied to the jaw bone.
u will find out that very very very often guys have Gis in the Judo tournaments, thats why that technique would work i guess.
and u made a great observation too that it wouldnt work on someone that doesnt have a Gi. but the chances that ur opponent in a Judo tournament doesnt have a Gi is very small...
no. i roll him to his left* side, take my left arm and wrap around his neck like a rear choked but if i hold my arm like an RNC i lose angle. so i grab my own gi collar, stabilize positon with my left knee to his back and my free hand (right) pushing down on his legs, then i push myself away with my left knee, pull his legs, choke him out. its a hybrid between this choke and an RNC. it's hard to visualize, i know but you can try it at your club. I'm a white belt in BJJ so it's not fail-proof.
This one comes on pretty quick so if you pull it at training(BJJ/GJJ) have the control to let go. It works quicker if you grab the arm you are falling away from as the Gi torques before you hit the ground. Best to do on coloured belts who will at least defend it.
your wrong, in a street fight he wouldnt have 2 go into ground he'd prolly break the dumb ass's arm b4 he even touched him, easy 2 tell u dont know much bout fighting
"I immediately go into him, and grab his neck"... wut? O__O
