  • "I immediately go into him, and grab his neck"... wut? O__O

  • You teach the techniques too fast , more slowly nextime

  • you can pull off a rear naked choke or even a triangle in that position, much more secure chokes :)

  • Nothing to do with judo looks like that fagy ufc shit

  • @metalizawsome88 huh, in ufc they dont even have a gi, so they cant do that...

  • @metalizawsome88 Ehm, these UFC guys take moves from judo, or actually jujitsu.

  • i like judo, but that looks gay

  • i don't even see how this is choking him

  • @yodaddyxx ohh its chocking him all right. take judo and get put in that choke its waaaaaaay worse than a triangle. It's basically a thick color wrapped around your neck so basically tie a rope around someones neck and pull to give you a idea. Works in a 1v1 street fight with a shirt collar 2

  • DAMN HE TAPPED HARDCORE

  • This is a really good move for bjj too

  • wow i did this move in sambo

  • @ryanWeap what is sambo?

  • @TheRealityRocks sambo is a russian military martial art that came from judo

  • There is a problem in the caption on this video... they call it Ude garami... which is the correct name for the "kimura" arm bar.... what the sensei calls the choke is "ire jime" wich means lapel choke. Sensei in video had it right

  • This is a deadly choke. For anyone praticing it for the first time take a lower grip on the lapel so you don't choke the crap out of your uke, since it will tighten as you roll over. (I made that mistake lol)

  • @27albrecht that is because you were not taught how to exercise control in executing your techniquees and the rule that safety comes first ny your teacher. If you continue with out being taught safety concepts you will wind up seriuosly injuring your training partner and ir killing them and wind up with criminal charges being brought against you. I have saw this happen in my 30 years of training and teaching in various martial arts. your teacher should have taught you this rule.

  • @sanucues I was taught safety and how to exercise control from the very first lesson, something I take very seriously. The dojo assistant who was teaching us this particular choke either didn't see how high my grip was, or forgot how tight the choke could get. My training partner wasn't injured, just had to endure a nasty choke for a few moments.

  • This choke is called the Kick Choke, also the English choke. It works quite well, especially after someone has failed to throw you with something like a Drop Seoi Nage. I know someone that wins with it in Judo tournaments all the time. It's his favorite technique.

  • I Love that i do that alot in Randori!! But for some reason cant get it to work in Tournaments..

  • thank u

  • I wonder what this choke is called.

I use it all the time and is extremely effective in getting quick taps. I feel bad using this choke because 90% of the time, it's more of a pain submission because of the extreme leverage you can get.

You can even get a pain submission when your opponent's chin is tucked under the lapel because of the sheer amount of force applied to the jaw bone.

Is there a common name for this choke?

  • Its a rolling choke, most commonly i think its called kataha jime.

  • its also known as the suicide choke in some schools.

  • What if the dude's not wearing a gi . if the dude's not wearing a gi ... then how is that supposed to work?

  • u will find out that very very very often guys have Gis in the Judo tournaments, thats why that technique would work i guess.

and u made a great observation too that it wouldnt work on someone that doesnt have a Gi. but the chances that ur opponent in a Judo tournament doesnt have a Gi is very small...

  • hey people that have those zip up sweaters that is pretty much like a gi top but with a belt so it may be harder

  • i hold my own GI collar. it works. just did this against a GI-less guy today.

  • You use your own gi? So you pull it out and wrap it around the other guy's neck? ...

  • no. i roll him to his left* side, take my left arm and wrap around his neck like a rear choked but if i hold my arm like an RNC i lose angle. so i grab my own gi collar, stabilize positon with my left knee to his back and my free hand (right) pushing down on his legs, then i push myself away with my left knee, pull his legs, choke him out. its a hybrid between this choke and an RNC. it's hard to visualize, i know but you can try it at your club. I'm a white belt in BJJ so it's not fail-proof.

  • Smart!

  • @kinnokaizoku lol fail he said use the opponents lapel like 5 times

  • fuck fuck fuck him

  • tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap the first time lol.

  • some clubs will teach chokes to people from the age of 7

  • i no in my club they wont let u do chokes and arm bars til 13

  • i do bjj though so there is alot of emphasis on subs whereas i judo there also emphasis on throwing

  • This one comes on pretty quick so if you pull it at training(BJJ/GJJ) have the control to let go. It works quicker if you grab the arm you are falling away from as the Gi torques before you hit the ground. Best to do on coloured belts who will at least defend it.

  • This is normal, 2bit.. These kind of videos shouldn't be on youtube as they're quite dangerous when you go 'experimenting' with it..

  • I think you're just scared people are gonna learn from this

  • dude one of his hands was completely free so if i was him i would just punch him

  • unfortunately you cant do that in a competition

  • of course u can

  • and in a street fight you would go unconscious in 3 seconds - worse youd give the other guy would be a black eye.

  • your wrong, in a street fight he wouldnt have 2 go into ground he'd prolly break the dumb ass's arm b4 he even touched him, easy 2 tell u dont know much bout fighting

  • im saying IF he went into ground. i do the art myself :|

  • It's not 'cuz yours doesn't that mine doesn't ;)

  • lol? judo teachers don't teach you chokes before you are 15..

  • ye thats y i hav always argued that juijitsu is better cuz the rear naked choke was 1 of the 1st things i was ever taught to do

  • fuck this is bad!

  • this is just a modified version. this guy is horrible. real time to him is like slow motion.

  • yea ok these guys suck

  • can we see this from a different angle?

  • isent this rear naked choke?

  • No rear naked choke, dont use the gi,is a headlock

  • this is called the choke with their own clothes

  • yeah I never watched the whole video my bad...
