With all the social, political, and geographical minutia aside, this was an absolute joy to watch and sing along to some forty plus years ago...and now as well. The Flintstones Rocked! Remember "The WayOuts"?
@Rollman1 No Arabs - Oh,what a great world that would be!! They included the countries that viewers would actually like (England, France, Itay, Netherlands, Germany, Japan)
@gmccord1970 Ahhhh.....Nice!! Hanna Barbera should have been more careful back then!Kids back in the '60s weren't as stupid as they (H/B) thought kids were!
As a kid I didn't notice the stereotypes as well as the absence of Africa. If this were truly the stone age, where life began, there would be a HUGE African presence since that is where life started.
Of course there are those who say it's stereotypical, but honestly, I always got a warm fuzzy feeling watching this scene. Reminds me of Olympics opening/closing ceremonies. It shows that although people may be physically different, we are all still human.
I watched this episode when I was 5 years old and loved it then!!!! That was in 1985...I like the way they were bouncing to the song...,It got me off at 5.
It sounded like the German and Dutch kids were singing with just an accent instead of their own language. :)

Did they really record groups of foreign kids singing, or electronically "multiply" one kid from each language?
Either way, a brilliant idea. Oh how I wish they made cartoons like this today.

@keliata Yeah, that was bad. The cartoonist should've put "U.S.A." on that banner. Oh, well.
