  • A delightful video, many thanks.

  • if its raining hard enough to push the keys in from a leak, i wouldnt wanna stand outside

  • Soooo this is what happens when you piss on your piano.....

  • If this is what happens when the roof is leaking over the piano, i'll make my roof leak.

  • Check the extended description for a link to the sheet music.

  • This is so cool! *thumbs up* :D

  • That was pretty awesome.

  • great music... great animation... congrats !

  • really great !

  • lol, i would love to hear the rain play my paino, I would call it. "Sound of rain drops"

  • hey josiah566

if u find the sheet music ,i'd love to have a copy

  • WHat form of music would this be?

  • It's jazz.

  • i'd love the sheet music for this :D

  • lol, that too ;)

  • AWESOME!

  • hahaha!!!! Could you imagine that fish swimming in mercury? :)

  • that water has some crazy velocity to be able to push down those piano keys

  • So cool!

  • I somehow have to think of an episode of "Three's Company" where the following question occured:

"How do you call a musical Fish?"

    -"A piano tuna!"

  • LOL

  • haha the fish got bored so he made his own little tune haha love it

  • Wow! :-D

  • You'd think the fish would have squirted all the water out from his bowl.

  • Yay! Absolutely loved it :D

  • Cute!

  • that is some heavy rain lol

wish i had a fish that could do that heh

  • I love when the butterfly goes into the piano, it's always so awesome to watch the hammers hit the harp. =3 Sometimes I like to take the front panel off my piano to watch the hammers while I play. XD;;;

  • Me to. It's fun because you can see all the little hammers going up and dwon.

  • Wow great job. good piano sync.

  • This is a Kurzweil piano sound!!!

  • You're right! We used a Kurzweil MicroPiano, which had only been out a few years when the film was made.

  • I'm surprised one of the water droplets didn't take out the butterfly XD i like how you had the butterfly go inside the piano too. 4 stars!

  • This is one of my favorite songs, and i love the animation. Great job, pixar here we come. What made you pick this song? No one except no one knows it.

  • Genious!

  • Belissimo! Beautiful! I love the butterflies and the gorgeous piano composition. Thanks for posting this!

  • the end is fun with the fish !!

  • Gorgeous!!! I'm going to embed it in my (Hazel Quinn's)Ultimate Piano Blog! Yummy!

  • Haha!It was a fish!:)

  • Very very good job. I love it. Congratulations.

  • cute

  • My son says:

the animation is really nice... i just think "butterflies in the rain" would maybe have somewhat of a sadder tune to its title... or at least thats what i would do. but whatever. its your animation, im not the boss of you.

  • Thats so cool ! I LOVE IT ! OMG ! wow ! XD

  • Excellent animation dude, you rock!!

  • Excellent work on this man, i can't believe how creative you are, Thank You for the entertainment!

  • Amazing!

  • the fish could die after that, ahaha.

  • Ha! That Would Have To Be Some Really Heavy Water.

  • or very sensitive keys

  • For The Key To Be So Sensitive, It Would Have To Have Super Light Hammers.

  • Or maybe the raindrops are super-heavy. Who cares, its an animation. Speaking of which, I loved it.

  • This film is available on the DVD "Computer Animation Extravaganza" which was released in 2000.

  • HA the goldfish at the end..

  • A great video. Continue producing!!!

  • Outstanding. Thank you for sharing ;O)

  • That was FANTASTIC animation! I also love the music! Beautiful job, CC213!

  • This must be another meaning of the expression 'heavy rain' ;)

  • Jesus that would take forever but very nice job..

  • amazing, was that on the Art Of Illusion program AoI??????

  • It looks like it takes place in a dance studio.

  • Very well animated. Love the piece as well. Where can I get the sheet music?

  • I have an original copy of the music and would be willing to share it with you.

  • sweet! you going to upload it somewhere or something?

  • Bravo. I imagine the procedural part derived from the player piano roll is what determines which keys are depressed/hammers are struck, and where the drops fall? Really great.

  • Facinating video. This recording by Frank Milne was also available in Duo-Art format. I think this piece was recorded by Milne after the 1930 merger of Duo-Art and Ampico and thus available in both formats. It's a great a little tune beautifully arranged by Milne who headed up the popular music recording depts. of Aeolian Duo-Art and Ampico.

  • That was at once strangely entertaining and very nice. I really liked that tune, it took me back to the 20's.

  • Simples e Criativo... e antigo tbm... legall...

  • kool...when I was real little raindrops splashing on the sidewalk reminded me of butterflies...strange, huh?

  • very nice video. i liked the fish at the end :)
