This is South Africa, a country known to have very large snakes. It's not like the people wanted the snake to kill the poor dog. It just happened, to the snake the dog is just another item on the menu, don't hate on snakes, this is what they naturally do. The dog is as likely to get eaten as a random antelope.

Poor dog, but there is nothing you can do about it, these comments change nothing, this useless bickering does not change the result of the encounter between dog and snake.
