This game is fucking hilarious. First they intentionally target the batsman's bodyparts like face or chest, or foot. then they walk up to them on the ground like "you're ok man?". as if they're sincerely concerned and this was coincidental..
the main reason they all ran up was because they werent happy with harmson hitting all their players and then not asking how they were. its just a nice thing to do, it doesnt take away from the aggression of the bowling cos you have still hit them on the helmet. it still shakes them up even if you do make sure they are ok

Why would the bowler run upto the batsman who is just hit on the grill? I hate that.. if I am the batsman I'd like only either umpires or my partner on the non-striking end come upto me and ask how things are? That plays a psychological role on batsman's mind and those scenes are left in the coming moments when all were around him!! I'm against it if this is called sportsmanship!!

No brett himself has said multiple time that he hates hurting batsmen, actually the australian team is really concious about hurting batsmen, they are on the scene straight away everytime.
Personally I'd say that Smith and strauss are too different too compare but if you take out that really bad dip in form that Strauss had in '06-07 then His test average would be about 47-48 which isn't too far away... the only thing that can be said is that both are great test openers
Every batsman's different and averages don't matter that much (I'd pick Marcus Trescothick over both Strauss and Smith and he had a lower average than either)
