Carl Perkins had a great picking style that I enjoyed; it was economical(for the time period he was in), but he stuck to the rhythm and could syncopate like few could. All that, and wail out those vocals, he was rare indeed! No wonder so many musicians followed his style and made their own path.

it's sad that there will probably never be something like the million dollar quartett or the class of '55 again.
that was real, damn good music, not that shit that's in the charts nowadays.
now the only big ones left are jerry lee lewis, little richard and chuck berry.
i was definitely born 60 years too late!
