I love out Bouvier. He's training to be a search and rescue dog with my daughter as his handler. His gentle demeanor is perfect with my new grandson. They're brothers in spirit.

where did you get your dog?

We live in Southern California. Jacqui came from 'Hirschs' Bouviers- They belong to the Southern California Bouvier des Flandres Club.

Not a puppy mill- They interiew you to make sure that their dogs are going to good homes where the Bouvs will be a family member. All dogs are completely healthy. If your Bouv does not work in your family- they want the dog back with them. I can't say enough great things about the Hirschs'. minig

I have tried to buy my bouvier toys but the only ones she will not destroy are the Kong hard toys. She will tear apart a soft furry toy in a matter of minutes. However, she is eight months old. She used to love toys but now she just eats them.

damit I miss my Bouvier, Blaze she lived to 15 (extremely old age for a Bouvier) she died in good health last month. I plan to eventually get one myself when I get myself settled

Im not making a statement about all golden retrievers, but I mean for example

How would you say these bouvier's relationship with humans are? because I've known alot of golden retrievers and goldens seem to take intrest in everyone but dont from a really strong bond and I want a dog that will really bond with its master and really want to get attention

I feel Bouviers bond deeply with their owner and also with the entire family. They are used to gaurding herds. They don't run them like an Assie. That is exactly how Jacqui is w/ me. Always aware of me and where I am. She loves to be where I am. Most Bouvier books will tell potential owners that Bouvs want to be around you at all times-barnacles-. They are noy hyper or all over you and your friends 24 hours a day.

Nice video. I have a question. Are Bouvs smelly? Do they leave an odor in the house?

Thanks for the comment! Bouvs will be smelly if you don't take care of their coat. Rolling in mud and dogs slobbering on them can cause smells. Drinking toilet water is a no no! They have hair like us and like Poodles. They really don't shead and they don't have nasty oil glands that can make odor. They do need brushing and grooming to deter matts. Best dogs in our world!!

Jacqui's dad is Belgian, with grand and great fathers all being Dafzicht's. On moms side, her grand mom is Belgian, and her greatgrand father is 'Galbraith's Iron Eyes'. She is a lovely dog and a wonderful companion!
