Of course, humans are just SO evil and the similarity between Dune, Dances With Wolves, The Last Samurai, Fern Gully, Pocahontas, Princess Mononoke, and Atlantis: The Lost Continent is freaking insulting. I dunno. If all I cared about was plot, I'd read a book. Besides, I don't really think James Cameron concieved this movie for the plot's sake-- I guess that's already obvious...

What I'm trying to say is that I think James Cameron never meant for us to pay attention to what we think is the plot. All it serves to do is to ease our transition into this beautiful world, where its creatures, geography and culture tell a story all their own.

Not the most amazing plot driven piece of sci-fi I've seen but it was brilliantly done. If any movie has hype people will instantly adversely hate it for any reason they can. If you actually be very critical to other movies you'll find similarities between other plots too.
