@jellyboy123 You really are a stupid cunt, I never mentioned Jimmy's name in original post. Now go back to school and learn how to read, you complete and utter bollock brain.
@jellyboy123 "strange how a drummer can effect a band." Okay I know the drummer sucks but you're a fucking dipshit for saying that. Every single member influences the band, which is why it's called a BAND. Doesn't matter if you're the bass player or drummer, the part you play is important. I'm a drummer and people like you are fucking idiots who only admire the frontman.
I saw the same drummer at Rome, he was stunningly frenetic and kept all the rhythms faster and more elaborated than the records. I believe he was also a bit exaggerated at times, as he was breaking a shitload of drumsticks. ha ha
man, the live versions of adore are so good. Billy's voice is relaxed and you can feel some freedom the other band members get. Adore is most underrated album for me. James is also very good on it.
absolutely. Adore doesnt deserve the respect it should from both fans and critics. The music is different from the previous three Pumpkins albums but very refreshing and personal, I feel like I can connect with a lot of the Adore songs
I saw an interview with Billy where he talked about writing this song. He said that the album producer told them they needed an extra track after Billy had finalized the track list. Billy sat down and wrote this song in like 20 min and slapped it on the album. Just think, it almost was never written, lol.
because he's not smashing pumpkins. in the sense of he seems doesnt fit in like a pumpkin. i mean who really does fit in the pumpkins besides james d'arcy billy and jimmy but he playe the songs well but if it came to it i dont think kenny would have chemistry with billy thats usually why drums dont stick if no one can play a song wtih them or have chemistry. but thats just my opinion
the drummer is actually kenny arnoff, a very sucessful studio/ fill in musician. he also plays with john mellancamp. i still wish they had james though.
haha that's not jimmy silly, that some dude who they got to fill in for him after he was fired. He did return to the band for the album and world tour that came after this one
Wow! Jimmy's like wayyy enthusiastic at the intro- he's a really good drummer, y'know...And James owns the guitar like no one's buisness, same for Billy and his heavenly singing, and not many ppl can play the bass like D'arcy.
jimmy left the band.. what else... The smashing pumpkins aren't the band we used to listen to . Too bad everybody left... james , darcy and now jimmy , fuck it :(
I do, a lot! It's just that i couldn't recoginize him; it's actually Kenny Aronoff who'se here whle Jimmy was suspended for heroin use, and poor ol' Melvoin died...
ok thanks a lot bro , yu helped me , but i got another question , wich pickups model uses James ? ´cause i´ve been searching on internet and are various models . Please , if you can help me again , i´llbe gratefull
This is where things get a little uncertain for me, as I don't know the exact model of James' guitar. It has a Humbucker-sized pickup in the bridge, which may be an FGI humbucker, with the neck pickup being the Sustainer unit. Fernandes themselves sell a Sustainer "kit" with both this Humbucker and the sustainer, which is made to fit like a single coil pickup. at a guess I'd say that's what James's guitar has, and I think Billy's guitar has that too. I may be wrong though. Hope that helps!
It was all going so well with billy, james and D'arcy at the front, but then you've got some middle aged bold guy who probably still lives whith his mum jumping around in the background like a lepricorn with a smile which resembols one of a pedo. Glad they brought back jimmy
He's not Jimmy dude, his name is Matt something, he's the drummer from Filter the Pumpkins hired to replace Jimmy after he was removed from the band. This fool can't hold a candle to Chamberlain
hah, well hey man, i dont think that matt sucked, i mean give the guy some credit, sure he had some big shoes to fill to take the place of jimmy, but i think matt did a pretty nice job
and I made an error hahaha no he's great but it's not Matt Walker in that video it's Kenny Arronoff or something :S hahaha Yeah Jimmy is still the drummer needed
Good performance, but I wish someone would post their SNL performance of the same song from Sept. '98. I have it on tape, but the picture quality is really bad due to the fact that we didn't have cable and had to use 'rabbit ears' to get the local channels.

xxjoeyjordisonxx 3 years ago
Fernandes Sustainer pickup. The guitar he's playing has a Sustainer pickup fitted, that does a similar effect to the E-Bow.
Billy also had one of them in one of his guitars (the Sunburst jaguar-style one he often played around this time) as well.
